  1. What's the best e/w bet anyone?
  2. No idea who Lara Bingle is. If she is like Lara Croft I'd be happy with 'shallow'.
  3. My condolences (written sheepishly).
  4. I think foxes should be allowed to hunt. Do they have a vote?
  5. You may have missed my last post about it being an 0844 number *Bob*.
  6. Their number is an 0844 one. Do you know a plan which includes those? Do you know the difference between 0844 and 0845 numbers by the way, as I don't?
  7. Just noticed that Forest Hill Practice are still charging about 8p a minute to listen to their options and to wait for someone to answer. Does anyone have up to date information as the last post was a year ago?
  8. I think medically it's known as 'United envy'.
  9. I think 3 horses had to be put down yesterday which is sad. Does Aintree have to be a life or death scenario for so many horses or is it just that we don't hear about the others during the season?
  10. I've put my tuppence this week on 3 of the 4 HC Q/Finals being home wins. Don't ask me what odds. It's called instinct. Every chance of all 4 being home wins so I think I'm in with a chance of clearing up.....tuppences!
  11. You confirmed what I suspected Mick. You have no taste!
  12. Thank you for posting that twinmummy. I don't care what people may think though as those tots were not being cared for properly in a very dangerous situation. I wrote it on the offchance that the parents might read it. I don't think the young lady concerned is a bad person but she obviously didn't have her priorities right at that particular time.

  14. Who will win. A few going for Harrington, Mick. Have you got him covered?
  15. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That sums it up in a nutshell ratty and ????. > Ferguson, Wenger and Benitez are the biggest > moaners when it comes to refereeing decisions. Maybe it seems that way because you see more of them Jah. Trying doing a search of managers fined by the FA and see who comes up. Fergie hardly said anything about Drogba being offside last w/end and stated that Chelsea were the better team. Last night if he hadn't blamed the ref, the Germans, Basil Fawlty or George Bush, he would have had to blame Da Silva. He is a good prospect and up to that point was having a good game. He will feel somewhat better that his manager didn't blame him for the defeat. Perhaps that's how to get loyalty from your players, something which doesn't happen much in the modern era.He knows the boy will learn. No point in kicking him when he is down already.
  16. I don't usually post here but for the above reason I'm doing so. At around 12.15 this afternoon I was waiting at the traffic lights on Honor Oak Rd, waiting to turn left towards Forest Hill Station. Tesco's petrol station/shop was on my right. A woman in charge of two toddlers who looked like sisters of maybe three and four max, was on the pavement to my left. Her intention was to cross over and she proceeded to do so while most of her attention was focused of having a conversation on her mobile phone. They made it to the small island in the middle of the road. While she turned around to make sure the smaller of the kids was following and still on the phone, the older one proceeded to cross the rest of the road. A car turning into the road I was leaving managed to stop as the driver obviously saw the toddler. The woman having crossed with the two kids safely, more by luck than judgement IMO, proceeded it seemed towards Tesco's not holding either child by the hand. My suspicion is that this was possibly an au pair/childminder not looking after someone's children. The consequences of this neglect could have been terrible. The point of posting this is that if you think you may be a parent to these kids, if you wish to pm me I could describe the person/what they were wearing if you wished to confront the person. My wife was a witness to this as well and was equally as horrified as I was. If you happen to be the children's mother and read this, please don't let something you will feel guilty about for the rest of your life happen for the sake of a phone conversation. I don't know if you will think this post is out of order. I guess you will let me know. I am a parent but of a child old enough to cross the road by himself.

  19. Are you saying it's not typical of the Germans then Matthew? SAF said they got him sent off by running to the ref whilst observers at the match noticed that he had put his card back in his pocket once he realised he would have to send the player off. As for it being xenophobic nonsense, he was saying what he thought about a particular type of behaviour. He could probably have included other nationalities too, but United were playing Germans.
  20. Blind and deaf as ever Matthew. If anyone is usually gracious in defeat it is Ferguson. Just find out what he said about losing to Chelsea for example.
  21. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "typical Germans"......quote from a knight. Real > class from Sir Alex. I just thought that was a heat of the moment comment Mick and it was typical of the Germans to beat an English team. Not that SAF actually meant it that way.

The Red Lion Mayfair I used to frequent this place a lot when I worked in Mayfair and really liked it. It's close to Shepherds Market and Green Park tube. Very old fashioned sort of place. Depends what you like really.
  23. BM did scrap through their group by going to Juventus and stuffing them 4-1 in a must win game. They were almost out away to Fiorentina in the last 16 but managed a second goal late on in a 3-2 defeat to win on away goals. What does this mean? I haven't a clue! Unless French football is better than I thought Bayern can't be that good given they lost to Bordeaux twice who are in turn 1-3 down to Lyon. Their 1st leg goals against United were lucky against a team that played really poorly. I expect United to go through if they play like they can with plenty of energy.
  24. Did anyone think Walcott bottled it by passing instead of shooting when Arsenal scored? It was a poor pass when it seemed easier for him to shoot.
