  1. Hi Nikki; I did ask my GP about the botulism link, and she said the risk was very small, and in this case it was safe for Lex. I think we're both clutching at straws until her allergy clinic referral goes through. I can email you a photo of her rash of you like, so you can see if your little girl looks the same. It's on my iPhone and I couldn't uPload it here.
  2. You may remember me from posts such as "Is my baby a (beautiful) freak?". We went to the GP about Lex's odd face rash, and that coupled with red,'watery eyes, coughing and sneezing points towards a nasty case of hayfever. I've been told that giving her locally produced honey may very well help, but has anyone got any other practical suggestions?
  3. I always did as Ludo suggested and on the rare occasions I had to empty it in public, used the disabled loo. After I got the hang of it, I was a right Mooncup convert. Haven't had a period in almost four years, but when I do, will use one again. Wonder if I need a 'bigger' model? Am under 30 and haven't had a VB, just c/s...
  4. Not feverish, just lightheaded/dizzy. I've had mastisis twice, but this doesn't feel like it. I feel a bit "fuller" from the missed feeds but not engorged or swollen at all. This is most tiresome, hope it doesn't ruin my steak/Homeland plans for this evening...
  5. Cold; probability is high, as the infants and my husband are all snot-tastic atm. Not expressing the dropped feeds; most of them are between 11-6am.
  6. My hefty 8mo old has cut out about four of her feeds in a 24hr period, and for the past four days, i have felt sick and light-headed on/off all day. Could this be something to do with a rise/fall in various hormone levels? 3 pregnancy test said HELL NO so very much doubt I am With Child. For once. Bleurgh.
  7. Glad to see others with similair positive experiences; it's not all doom and gloom! Akc74; I'm so glad this had helped ease your mind somewhat :)
  8. For those of you who may be looking towards a repeat c-section, or considering you're options in a pregnancy following a surgical or traumtic birth, or having a c-section for the first time, this may be useful for you. It's my daughter's birth story, she was born via a RCS 8 month ago. She was a planned VBAC, but went very overdue. Have a read, if youse like. www.se5mum.co.uk
  9. No worries, Strawbs! Glad it worked :)
  10. Susyp; I'm not criticisng (sp, it's early) you, or whoever told you about breastmilk after 6mo, but I'm afraid that's totally untrue. I don't think that there is any point at which breastmilk's benefits and nutritional value decreases.
  11. And out; unclip neck 'buckle'/clip. Hold the now-looser carrier against you and pull arm straps down on one side. Hold baby. Remove arm straps on the other side. Remove baby when the carrier is free of your arms. Put baby in garish bouncy chair. Unclip ergo from around your waist.
  12. Strawbs, it takes a bit of practise but if you do it enough times it'll be easy! Assume you mean frOnt carry? Have you had a look on youtube? Basically, clip the ergo around your middle. Pick up baby (yours, as strangers may object to you thieving their offspring). Hold baby against your front, facing towards you, with one arm/hand. With the other, pull uP one side of the ergo and strap so that it's up Over your arm and on your shoulder, with the body of the carrier against your baby. Move arm holding baby, use other arm, with strap on it, to hold the outside of the carrier and baby whilst you shimmy the other side up yOur arm, onto shoulder. Make sure baby's legs are going through the openings made by the body of the carrier against you, and make sure their bum/back is straight and in the middle of the carrier sothat their weight is evenly distrubuted. When you're happy with their positioning, do up the clip at the back of the carrier, which should be at the base of your neck-ish. You should now be all set to go and do something very hippyish. Organic farmers market/hemp shoe sale ;) Enjoy!
  13. It's unlikely to be a knock-off, I don't think there would be much of a market for it, especially for a used item. Check out the seller's feedback and also see what other kinds of items they're selling for reassurance :)
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ergo-Baby-Carrier-Cranberry-With-Cream-Insert-White-teething-pads-included-/260986568301?pt=UK_Baby_Carriers&hash=item3cc402fe6d Comes with the newborn insert and drool pad protector thingies :)
  15. I cried at Avatar. I'm 26.
  16. SB: My friend Steph went glamping with a then 4mo old and 3yr old, and loved it. I believe they went to somewhere in Suffolk (sorry for being vague). Do you want me to put her in touch with you about it all? Here is her blog about it: http://imcountingufoz.com/blog/glamping-474
  17. We have the origional, and used it with the newborn insert when my now 8 month old was a newborn, and it was fine, not too hot at all. We still use it with her now, and also with her brother (27mo). Best baby buy ever!
  18. I always just use scouring pads and a good soak in fairy liquid/warm water. Soak, then scour. However, I am NOT a domestic godess by any stretch of the imagination...
  19. Fuschia, I'll team up with you and share some ;) I only have two (ha, only!)
  20. Welcome to ED aka BabyVille. Re: building work- we always use tradesmen found on myhammer.com and have been very pleased with the results. Do NOT get B&Q to do any of it. Just sayin'.
  21. I'm part of a, mainly American, pregnancy forum on Livejournal where at least twelve women have become pregnant whilst using the Mirena; like myself. Medical marvel, me. I like the tangent this thread has taken.
  22. Thanks you guuuuys. Knew you could keep my secret... Saffron: IUD? I bite my thumb at them! Seb was concieved when I had an IUD.
  23. You still have to wait 6w + for The Sexy Time with c/s, as well as VB. Personally, my scar still hurts like mad so The Sexy Time has happened twice, both times followed by a pregnancy scare. Am now celibate. TMI? Ah well.
  24. In my case, I was genuinely terrified they'd take the buggy:/ was also worried about Lexy Moo, in the bottom seat of the p&t and really vunerable. There was CCTV footage of the bastards thoigh, and they got caught. Hope you manage to rest today and have a lovely day in spite of it all xxx
  25. Snap, Mrs MC! SIL is getting married next month, and Mr B's best friend is getting married in May, am breastfeeding (almost constantly, even 8 months on...) but have found some excellent deep v-neck/wrapover dresses on ASOS.
