  1. Y'Man why have you quoted a story from 26 June 2008?? Here's the latest from BBC
  2. They're already here. Did NONE of you watch XFiles? Five thousand of their species were discovered hiding in the deep, last week. It was on the news. So it must be true. They didn't say they were ETs but it's obvious they were, just from looking at them...
  3. OMG! I'm out there! No wait I am working! Damn! *grabs Equity card not that it matters anymore....*
  4. Sorry to be predictable but no-one on this forum is able to answer seriously to your ever so serious problem. But if you go to your local Police Ward Panel you can ask them why the fine, and ask them their policies, and have a go at them about the policies, and then feel better you aimed your wrath at the right people. But poor you, it must be so dreadful. I'd have been so embarrassed, that telling everyone about it on here would have been the last thing I'd have done!
  5. There's lots of reasons though. A lot of people live alone these days but when it works out cheaper to buy in bulk, they'll store the spare stuff in the fridge or freezer, and then maybe forget it or something. Then chuck it out when they see the date! Also, the sell be/use by dates are not realistic, so food is chucked even when it could still be eaten without harm. Also, we live in towns where we can't give food to the animals nearby. In my Aunt's place in USA, she has goats and sheep and just chucks out everything she doesn't eat and they'll demolish the lot. Try asking if you can give such leftovers to the goats in Surrey Docks Farm and they'll positively blanch!
  6. Maybe he got a job, too!
  7. Not seen him since the Admin had his 2 week holiday. Hope he's alright? Maybe we bored him.
  8. Try looking in John Beasley's fine history books of the area, and the Southwark History Library which I think is still currently at the Peckham Library. From the subject - sounded like you were planning a street party yourself!
  9. But if it were I'd take as many of you with me, you can only execute me ONCE.
  10. And he has worked with such a diverse bunch of directors! And done so many different types of films. The Pamela Stephenson interview giggirl referred to above was awful in that she just was coming across so superior and concerned and yeuch, coulda slapped the bitch. He just needs to know we love him, and we do, and I just started the thread to remind us all of His Greatness. Course he's losing it a little. Who doesn't at that age when they've abused their body with such heavy drugs like he did. But he did recover and he did start a new career. And let's not forget without him we wouldn't have the adorable Jamie Lee.
  11. Somewhere with a Camera...
  12. I thought pudding was also 'afters'? Like bread and butter pudding (yeuch!) and chocolate pudding (yum) and stuff. Pies are what you put meat in. However, SUET pudding, being steak and kidney or apple and raisin, can be either. Doncha love words?!
  13. I was also invited to take part but my cat is under stress at the moment because of the new carpet being laid in the hall, and the Feliway diffuser designed to give out happy cat pheromones is playing havoc with my lungs, so I also had to decline.* Had I taken part I would have donned my Nigella Lawson short cardi and wide belt, my black Dominatrix wig like Ness in Gavin and Stacey, and made a cheesy fish bake from the Dairy Diary c.1990. For starters, some fruit and for afters, some chocolate. I wouldn't have won but I might have then been offered to be in How To Look Good Naked, crying at myself in the mirror wearing me five year old knicker and bra set from Primark whilst being oh so grateful for the humiliation situation yet to come. I'm a masochistic exhibitionist. If people don't laugh and love me, I get off. All the above other than my cat and my lungs is a lie.
  14. Boo to you Moos! An embarrassment? What did you contribute that for? Of course he and his work is in the past! giggirl thanks for this. I'll watch it later. I loved Pamela Stephenson when she was a comedian, but this series I found rather 'concerning'. The reverse shots of her concerned face made me cringe!
  15. Lepke and Boston Strangler are also two of my faves, where he 'be'd' a LOT on screen. But yes, The Persuaders. Sighhhhh! Joan Collins hated him, which makes it even better.

  17. (I'm in bed not well today and so - you know - just vegging with the laptop!) I always loved Tony Curtis. I think I have seen every film he ever made. Now he is an artist living in Las Vegas with his 4th wife. I've read his books, seen pretty much all his interviews, and have his autograph from when I was a teenager and he was in London, and also he signed copies of his books when I saw him at a launch at Harrods and when he gave a talk with Emma Freud at National Theatre. This thread won't last long, but I just wanted this 'out there'. He said he does not act on screen he just will 'be' on screen. Here's an exquisite piece of him sending himself up as a narcisist in Paris When It Sizzles.
  18. So "i think a lot of it is by youths passing through the area probably from Peckham and Camberwell" is a fact? No, it tells us all about you. "It seems however that not everyone is reporting these to the police so the actual numbers are unknown". If the numbers are unknown how can you know there's a rise? "Most of these robberies are committed by youths on bikes wearing hoods i would suggest if anyone see's any one matching this description and acting suspiciously then call the police or the local SNT" How do you know 'most' of the robberies are thus committed? Please don't imagine we don't care. But you don't write factually; you write with a large dose of attitude and bias, and we don't like that.
  19. Slightly related subject. Radio play at 2.30 Saturday 21st November 2009 on Radio 4 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nwz36
  20. Sue of course I was not criticising you. I was addressing myself to the original poster. Thought it was obvious. Sorry. x
  21. Yep I am taking MrPR to Fullers Brewery on 2nd December. Will report back! The best factory tour I ever ever did was the Jack Daniels Factory in Tennessee. But now I'm showing off...
  22. 020 7525 5000 Southwark Council. Don't blame one man - indeed he has kids and a job and does his best. You're setting him up to fail. Unfair.
  23. I agree with what has been said. Get the counselling. Go see if you can find her. Then maybe if she wants to be 'known', tell your brother. My own family is very disparate and a bit of a nightmare, and I wonder if your brother may be concerned as to why she told you her secret and not him. Do you know what I mean? But all those 'ifs' aside, I really hope things work out and I don't know about anyone else but I kind of feel 'honoured' you chose to come to us for advice!
  24. Over on the regular EDF specific forum, some have suggested a new separate room/area for politicians to contact us on should be started. I agree. What do you think?
