BITCH Babe In Total Control of Herself. That's what a lesbian told me was her ideal woman. Then there's the Accountant joke. An accountant had to choose between three women. So his mate gave him the idea on how to test them. He gave each one ?100 each and told them they had a month to decide what to do with it. First woman spends ?90 on herself and invests ?10 in the bank. Second women spends ?30 on herself, ?30 on a gift for him, and ?40 in the bank. Third woman puts all the money in a high interest earning account. Which one does he choose? The one with the biggest tits. OK maybe that should have gone in the bad joke thread. My hubbie chose me because we shared the three main important lifestyle choices. Child free choice, motorcycling lifestyle, and politically left of centre. (And I had big tits....)

Ahh indeed. And what are the only two breeds of dogs mentioned in the Bible?

I heard the following joke on an American radio comedy show from a male comedian, went something like, "So she says to me, 'I'm so worried, I'm so frightened that I may put on weight and you'll stop loving me and you'll find someone else and, and and - what's your biggest fear?' and I said, "Ah, bears."
-
No, that can't be right. To get AllForNun's business they'll make it a 97p store.

I thought this was a thread in response to the real women thread I saw somewhere. Walked into a pub the other day and someone said a comment about a real dog walking in, looked behind me, no dog, realised he was talking about me! When I was a kid growing up we had a great dog. Fabulous guard dog, very loyal and loving, and my best friend. It was a poodle!

Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am not a fan of additional bits to the mural. In > all honesty it would have been better left as it > was. What, Louisa, WITH all the graffiti on it?

Louisa you are such a whinger! No positive comment at all, just straight head on into negativitiy. YES there was a lot of litter. It Will Be Picked Up In Time. Get over it girl. That was a Great fayre and what a lovely selection of stalls. Surprise at so many baby clothes stalls then remembered where I was! Really enjoyed the day and a lovely atmosphere and sunshine, and treated myself to Melange chocolate. Well done to all the organisers!

And that half of Goose Green is definitely going to be a city farm. Now that IS true.

So what do we think of the new work? Me? Not impressed; apologies to everyone who took part, but it looks added on and not part of the original mural at all. And there's now loads of open blue space for more graffiti to stand out. The heron looks like a work in progress. The addition does not at all look like a whole mural, just bits and pieces. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

Someone stood up and explained all this at a Community Council. They said the blue paint was a protective cover paint, and then they would wash itoff, clean the graffiti then cover the mural in a sort of varnish which wouold mean that if there is any more graffiti, it goes straight on the varnish which can be washed off more easily. This would mean that all of the original mural would be totally as new and clean and fabulous. I did not make this up! Honest. (Not taking away from the new work, but it seems that whoever it was told everyone this at the CC was delusional, or maybe they really did believe what they were saying but someone else had other ideas; typical of Southwark Council though.)

could it be yes it could, somethings coming something good...!

AllForNun it is wonderful to read your positive happy words. I was working elsewhere today but I look forward to seeing them tomorrow. Also interesting is number 6 with the scaffolding around it and work going on. -
Hold everything. I am sure I read on the previous thread (and I can't find it now) that the blue paint that the council used to paint over the bottom third of the mural, was a paint which could be washed off so as to reveal the original work behind it again, and that the graffiti would be taken off. Soooo someone told fibs.

So the Tesco, we'll all against the idea right? But when it arrives you bet we'll all go.

Finally got Patti Smith on my iPod. But to be frank, having also finally bought a DAB, I have discovered the delights of Planet Rock. it's pretty much like my own collection on Shuffle!

Ummmm night busses? They work!

I've posted elsewhere about this, but basically as a woman who is often out at night and not just on a motorcycle but doing the walking thing too, nothing, but nothing will stop me walking where I want and nothing including appallingly sad stories like this, and scaremongering by others, will make me think, "Oh I am a woman I mustn't go out after dark it's not safe." This terribly sad situation notwithstanding, most people get from A-B safely, even when being aware and with skills. The important thing is at night especially is to be aware, not to dull senses with mobile phone or iPod, and walk defensively (and not in heels you can't run in!) Having said all that, if it is going to happen it is going to happen. But you can lessen the chances without restricting your life, and living in fear. My thoughts go to the woman concerned - and I shall raise the issue at the next Police Ward Panel.

I was working. Who went? What happened? -
Do you think people being utterly helpful, listening to all our concerns, doing things to address the concerns, saying what they'll do, doing it, telling us that they've done what they said they'll do, will catch on? I'm scared.

Leicester Square Theatre: the Afterlife of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. This show is on Tuesdays in May at 8.00pm and I saw the first show tonight. It is the funniest show I have seen in years. The 2 actors who play Cook and Moore, with the 3rd actor playing about 5 other characters including a brilliant Leonard Rossiter, Frankie Howard, Peter Sellers and others just never let up and were totally utterly convincing, but the play itself (written by two of the cast) was a scream of an idea. Oh God that was such a funny night. Enjoy. Oooh and I see the exquisite Sandra Bernhard is also on end of May. Must get tickets for her, too. Saw her years ago and she is soooo dark and fabulous.

Well done UPaulie! I have this vision of stock on the fruit and veg aisles coming from a sort of suspended ceiling so it's lowered down to the bays, thus negating the need for trollies of stuff to be loaded taking up space in the aisles. But now if someone nicks my brilliant idea I want a cut of the profits, mind.

Why are local parks not opened earlier?
PeckhamRose replied to taper's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why don't you ask the Parks department? No point in asking us is there. ;) -

Nope, and I stroked the cow and the other animals, and even the heads of a few children.
