  1. I definitely saw Daniel Craig in Chelsea at the weekend, crossing the Fulham Road. However, that's not for here. I know that Michael Caine had an apartment at Chelsea Wharf but I know not if he still does.
  2. Fine! Fine! (Ohh see what I did there?)
  3. In the London Borough of Newham, Motorcyclists are allowed in the box at the lights. So, why can't we be allowed in every other borough and TFL boxes. Clearly Newham think we are ok. As for being 'terrifying' when we ride past you in a bus lane. Why is it terrifying? You should be alert and awake to the traffic and then nothing would be terrifying. Motorcyclists should know to always slow down when in a bus lane and approaching a left turn, in case a car from the main lane on our right turns left in to it without bothering to check for us. Drive/ride safely, people.
  4. Thanks for the reply and putting us all straight. I shall visit again soon and enjoy darker beers! Thanks x
  5. Fair point. But it's attitude of people who confront other people which can not be regulated, changed, altered, amended [checks thesaurus] or improved. Can we have a survey about people?!
  6. Well yesterday later afternoon they only had ONE type of beer on sale (lager doesn't count as beer, obviously) and were out of dry roasted nuts. Also, there was only one person in the pub and he was telling us to have salted instead which suggestion we rejected. So if it is closing I would not be surprised. Sad though.
  7. Just played this evening for a couple of hours with Himself. Fabulous. It's the one sport I am any good at - not that I am that good - but anyway it is very good exercise for me. Whichever Southwark Council committee was responsible for installing this - thanks muchly lots.
  8. You don't need one. We didn't have one. It all went pretty smoothly. If you think you need one, don't go for one of these companies that specialise in helping you buy your flat, as they may have a solicitor but they'll charge you loads on top.
  9. Oh dear. Doncha just love people.
  10. Yayy! I just read that in the Friends of Peckham Rye Park Newsletter! Thanks. OK then, if anyone wants to play and don't have a bat, PM me and we could try and play now and again. Weekends are not good for me though.
  11. ooh thanks. Both are a bit far for me, but thanks for mentioning them!
  12. The table tennis table has arrived in Peckham Rye Park. I have just bought two new bats and balls. So if anyone wants to play (I'm not bad, was a great player as a kid but way out of practice) let me know and we can try and play when it's nice. Weekday morning preferable. Edited heavily, and so the following posts by kind posters who replied to my original message may not make sense.
  13. It is humans who define themselves as owners thus when the cats who are beyond mere language do not come back, they are considered lost. But the picture above - proving they are beyond mere language - says it beautifully, although I suspect that particular cat was not drinking anything 'lite'. We had cats who hated going out. It was fine, but they do at least need the option. Kubrick got rather fat and indeed a plumber once looked at him and said "Watches telly and drinks beer a lot does he?" We hired another plumber.
  14. I have seen kids with laser pen things. Don't know if it is possible to blind a bird using one of them? But as far as cats are concerned, put a collar with a bell on it. Save the birds!
  15. I noticed the same thing at the PeckMex or whatever it was, streetfood festival a couple of weekends ago. Not representative at all. Sad really. Similarly the Peckham Society (which is fabulous for the historical knowledge sharing of the history of Peckham) is not representative but that's understandable. If you were to take a hundred people walking down Rye Lane at any one time would they be representative of SE15? Not a clue mate.
  16. Mickey Smith 'founded the Bussey Building'?!
  17. Please join the Leaseholders Association of Southwark 2000 (aka 'LAS 200'.) They are very knowledgable, run by volunteers but volunteers who know their stuff, and have successfully fought against Southwark on various excessive charges in years gone by, and will help you. They don't reply very quickly because as I said they are volunteers and many of them/us work, but maybe you may have skills you could offer too. (ie ask not what your LAS2000...) but please do consider joining, and they may be able to advise. However, everyone's posts above has been pretty good too! LAS2000 P O Box 23394 LONDON SE16 2WA Write and ask for details of joining. I think it's ?30 a year or something.
  18. I like 'em. And they pull their trousers up.
  19. Lived here 30 years this year. Just keeps getting better and better. Mate of mine in Chelsea SW10 thinking of joining me. Depends where abouts you are and which area and where the bad guys live. Bad guys also live in posh areas too y'know. And even if they don't live there they know you have more to steal so they'll come visit.
  20. Curious, I posted similar on my Facebook page last week except that I put lemons in freezer first, then after defrosting the whole of the lemon can be blended and used and sieved!
  21. Rhymes with butch.

    Juicers

Ditto. And I use the pulp to put in bread or muffins. Scrummy.
  23. Oilworker, 1) bikers don't all wear leathers - too hot in summer too cold in winter and there are better materials. 2) not all bikers have great lungs, and can't cycle because of health reasons. That's why. Happy cycling.
  24. and what does 'goss' mean?
