  1. As can Oyster cards be forcibly removed. But then a kind person could give said robbed kid / young adult / some cash for the bus home. Which they then would not be allowed to use.
  2. Sorry, this is on the East Dulwich section, though why it's not lounged I don't know as it does not relate just to East Dulwich.
  3. I do. I love dogs. But sometimes dogs trample the planting. It's an enclosed formal garden. Not much to ask.
  4. Very sorry this has happened and I would suggest you come to the next Police Ward Panel which covers that area I think (look on met police website or I'll post it later when I find it), and to the person who snuck in a sly attack on budgets for the artwork on the bollards: different budget, and I think they're worth the money for the small amount the artist was paid. Secondly, there are cameras against shops I believe, but on a self defence level I would always recommend having something to hand ready. A paper for example can be rolled up. Keys can hurt if there's nothing else around. I do hope you are okay and thanks to the couple for looking after you too!
  5. https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/cashless
  6. I think there's a new learner group starting soon. PM you.
  7. Went to Hampstead Heath today. Loads and loads there.
  8. People trying to get home late night, tourists not realising they have to get an oyster or whatever. Banning cash is daft. I have an Oyster because I live here and it's easy, but I will always pay cash in shops and supermarkets, and everywhere else for everything else. Love cash, me. Online is different. Though I think I saw a new Cash Acceptance app on the market...
  9. So maybe my information is now out of date ;)
  10. Nope, I spoke with gardeners there and they told me that as people's dogs keep being allowed in the Sexby garden off the lead (previous signs seem to be taken down telling dogs owners to put dogs on leads), the dogs go in to fountain and screw up the wiring within. Don't shoot the messenger!
  11. "As there is nowhere 'at the front' that motorcyclists are legally allowed to occupy, there is no justification for them overtaking on the approach to a junction, as the Highway Code makes amply clear." But, but but but. As previously mentioned by me, the London Borough of Newham absolutely definitely encourages and allows motorcycles to overtake the traffic and share the box at the front with the cycles. And nobody whinges about it. I have to ride around that borough quite regularly.
  12. And would that image appear on BBC or a commercial channel, Annette Curtain?
  13. If there's a bob or two? It's mostly unpaid or poorly paid Interns actually doing the work in those kind of TV shows these days. Nope, this is just another horrid TV crap unreality show.
  14. Yup, today just got an invoice for ?2,000 plus, which is ?2,000 plus more than we paid them for, for work finished over three years ago! And we have a letter from 18 months ago saying that they had the figures and would get round to invoicing folk accordingly. So the invoice today has taken them 18 months to prepare. Incorrect info on the details in that they listed stuff that they say had been done that had not indeed been done, but it has been invoiced. Lots of work to do there, then. Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and Leaseholders Association of Southwark here we come....
  15. I definitely saw Daniel Craig in Chelsea at the weekend, crossing the Fulham Road. However, that's not for here. I know that Michael Caine had an apartment at Chelsea Wharf but I know not if he still does.
  16. Fine! Fine! (Ohh see what I did there?)
  17. In the London Borough of Newham, Motorcyclists are allowed in the box at the lights. So, why can't we be allowed in every other borough and TFL boxes. Clearly Newham think we are ok. As for being 'terrifying' when we ride past you in a bus lane. Why is it terrifying? You should be alert and awake to the traffic and then nothing would be terrifying. Motorcyclists should know to always slow down when in a bus lane and approaching a left turn, in case a car from the main lane on our right turns left in to it without bothering to check for us. Drive/ride safely, people.
  18. Thanks for the reply and putting us all straight. I shall visit again soon and enjoy darker beers! Thanks x
  19. Fair point. But it's attitude of people who confront other people which can not be regulated, changed, altered, amended [checks thesaurus] or improved. Can we have a survey about people?!
  20. Well yesterday later afternoon they only had ONE type of beer on sale (lager doesn't count as beer, obviously) and were out of dry roasted nuts. Also, there was only one person in the pub and he was telling us to have salted instead which suggestion we rejected. So if it is closing I would not be surprised. Sad though.
  21. Just played this evening for a couple of hours with Himself. Fabulous. It's the one sport I am any good at - not that I am that good - but anyway it is very good exercise for me. Whichever Southwark Council committee was responsible for installing this - thanks muchly lots.
  22. You don't need one. We didn't have one. It all went pretty smoothly. If you think you need one, don't go for one of these companies that specialise in helping you buy your flat, as they may have a solicitor but they'll charge you loads on top.
