  1. Pinch of ginger, a cinnamon stick, cuople of cloves and some nutmeg. Sometimes I also add a teaspoon of Mollasses sugar but demerara will probably also do. Maybe a tablespoon of honey or even Maple syrup could be good too! Bung 'em in a saucepan with half a pint of water. Bring to the boil stirring regularly then gently simmer for about 15 mins. Pour the lot through a strainer into another saucepan and add a bottle of red wine. I use the cheapest. Heat, mixing the lot together, but do not allow to boil as this will delete the alcohol from the mix. At the point it is hot and nearly boiling, withdraw the pan from the heat, mix in a quarter bottle of brandy or port whichever you choose, stir and pour into warmed mugs. Mwaaa!
  2. Such good news. You must be all so relieved especially at this time.
  3. All of them? Sorry to hear of this tragic collision (rarely an 'accident' in the true sense of the word).
  4. It's only a tenner (or it was about a year ago) to go to the bar up Tower 42. The two of us treated ourselves to champers. That's a view! (That is to say you buy a drink/s to the value of a tenner.) Shard is maybe two and a half times as high? Explains ?25! Not defending it. I think it's an atrocious price (even though I bought some - I just love heights), but 4000 free tickets for Southwark is absolutely not enough.
  5. I think you all need to call the PCT. They do care. I rang them over an issue at a dentists surgery and they investigated and rang the dental surgery to put them right on a few issues without using my name, and rang me separately to tell me they had done so.
  6. Welcome to you Media Boy. I don't think they do Forum drinks anymore. We only like one another in print....! Happy Christmas! Look forward to your contributions.
  7. Wow buttercup! "Doesn't matter how much it costs"! If you get a good recommendation but can't find it, try drinksonline dot com, they are pretty good and you may still be in time for delivery.
  8. I understand the Shard are only giving out 4,000 tickets to Southwark residents, and for January only. I don't know how many libraries there are in Southwark but if they're only giving out to the first fifty (say times four tickets), howcome only 200 tickets to one library. There's aren't THAT many libraries left in Southwark are there? (Too ill to do the maths...)
  9. Slightly off topic but have any of the patients of DMC checked the the soon-to-be-replaced PCT about the practices at DMC? Do they have a patients forum? They should do but I bet they are not at all representative. On topic - have also heard good things about Lister Walk In in peckham despite waiting times.
  10. There's a pub on Coleman Road in Peckham that is pretty scary. Was visiting a mate nearby and they made it very clear we were not welcome. Two nice females that we were, too! I've also felt decidedly unwelcome in Man of Kent. Went to a few pubs in East End with mates - around the Bow flyover where the nature reserve is, and smoking was still going on, and being outsiders we were treated with great suspicion!
  11. ... walk it through a warm kitchen on way to said plate.

  13. I'm just glad it means that Harry is further down the line now!
  14. We're baaaaaaaack! We did much of the above, including the Antonium today in miserable rain. Had a great time, yes we had "visit Brussels" to hand but it's always great to get personal recommendations. It was an enjoyable weekend away though we woke to heavy snow yesterday! Thanks everyone who contributed ideas!
  15. Oooh I hope it is a Wetherspoon.... And define 'High Street'. There's shops all over the place.
  16. Hey stacker285! Could see you and not realise it. We're going Sat morning and returning Monday night. Didn't know abot the christmas market parade.
  17. You are all wonderful, thanks, for posting your recommendations. We leave Saturday morning on the Eurostar and return Monday night. I shall write it all down and plot the map! A friend said we must see the sprouts museum...
  18. Thanks! (I'm not being lazy, I'll research, but personal recommendations are great and were SO good for when we did New England!)
  19. As someone who rides around a lot of London, I can tell you there are quite a few branches of Julia Know's Beauty if not her punctuation. One is in Fulham. R Soles in the Kings Road still brings a childlike grin.
  20. Cleaning the bike.
  21. I agree with AGTH too. And previous poster Pugwash except for the kids thing since I haven't had them.
  22. They're everywhere!
  23. It seems clear from posts in here that a lot of bikes and scooters are being stolen recently. I shall raise it at the next Police Ward Panel which you are all welcome to come to on a regular (once every 2 months) basis should you wish to come. I post it in the What's On section. The next one is 13 Dec 7pm venue to be confirmed but I think it will be the Rye Hill Tenants and Residents Hall, Peckham Rye SE15, on the main Peckham Rye road by the tower blocks.
  24. "Like" ukcomputers' mail. Am gutted for you Hollius. Assume you reported it. Motorcycle Action Group if you are a member will put the reg and make on their website.
