  1. Here it is at its best. I took this last month some time.
  2. Oooooooohh it's slag off PR day! Bring it on your negative bunch of cliquey phuckers!
  3. So many views to this post. Does that make us rubberneckers? Maybe we are just concerned for our community!
  4. Sean you are a pain no matter what name you use. I started the thread in ED section because I wanted to thank the people who stopped and helped me. And I was in East Dulwich. There may have been a connection. If not, then Oh My God I made a mistake. Call the EDF police. Or Sean, whoever is closest. I think it is very very nice that people care so much for one another and I have been truly moved by the amount of good will I received, though of course that was not the reason I wrote it. My phone had run out of battery. Jeesus do I have to explain everything? The teenage kid at the back I have found out was 27 - he was amused I had thought of him that age. There was no mention of my being condescending, just humour. Your interpretation. It was not a rubbernecking reaction, it was a genuinely friendly reaction - glad I was okay - happy to say so and PM me as well. A caring community. And along came you with a negative post. "Those hundred of views (wow!) are mostly people wondering; "surely there is more to this thread than somebody announcing they are unhurt after an accident involving nobody else? There isn't? oh FFS!" " That's YOUR interpretation which shows us all YOUR way of thinking. Thanks for that. Now we know. Now leave me alone and fuck off.
  5. I LOVE this forum. A friend of one of those who stopped for me and picked my bike up, has read this thread, as her friend told her about what happened and then she goes and reads it on here, so I was able to tell her to thank her friend for stopping and helping me. Hoorah. I shan't waste bandwidth with the photos of the fabulous bruises.
  6. Again I am so sorry to hear about these breakins and thefts. As for the steel security doors, it's fine for people who own their own homes that are houses, but Southwark operates a discrimination policy when it comes to people securing their own homes, and we are not allowed to put security gates on our doors or even at the end of our balconies, even if we own our own homes, if the home is in a block of flats. This is because of the Lakanal fire. Ours was at the end of the open balcony 3rd floor so in event of a fire we could have escaped the flat. Not allowed. We even took the lock off, hoping the fact there was a door there would put off potential crims. Not allowed, have to remove door. So security is a political issue here. Don't mean to highjack the thread in any way, but this issue may apply to some of you in flats. Again, if any of you need some practical help or advice please do post on here and many of us might be able to help. For what it is worth I am aware that the police from the local safer neighbourhood team do look at the posts on here every day.
  7. Hi Last Saturday week I had four hours free at home. Looked at Twitter and @SE1 said that Tower Bridge was opening to let the Cruise Ship Vistamar through at 2pm. Biked down to Tower Bridge (free bike park by Mayor's building hoorah!) and took both black and white, and colour film. MrPR processed the b-w film, and put the negs through the computer. Photos attached. Just thought you might like to see them. Black and white film still has its place. I Love London! The clouds look great too in this one.
  8. Whilst not being able to recommend to you a specific plant, I can recommend without any payment or benefit to myself that you go see Paul at Indacos flowers up Lordship Lane, by Lordship Lane vets and that strip of shops at junction of the South Circular. He is very good and his plants are good quality and very reasonable costs.
  9. I am so sorry to hear this news. Please do report it to the police. All the numbers are on the "Local Info" tab above right of this page. If there is anything you need practical help-wise, don't hesitate to post on here for help.
  10. Could someone invent one of these so I can look on line and see when MrPR is on his way home: "MrPR is 6 mins away." That would be so useful. :D
  11. I am loving the name PeckhamAsbestos.
  12. Done.
  13. Oh well done! I just put 343 Peckham Rye and it came up with this: (But it may not transfer, so take my word for it that it told me a 343 would come along in 10 mins. Hoorah!)
  14. Good question, I shall watch this one with interest as I have a similar situation wanting a telly in the kitchen!
  15. The actress who played Dr Pippa Moore in Jo Brand's Getting On, in Sainsbury's. Also Adrian Lester's wife, Ms Chakrabati (?) who was in The Bill for years.
  16. Congratulations! That's fabulous news!
  17. Watching films on YouTube of the way chickens are treated on their way to being killed for KFC put me off KFC. Weak, I know, but it did affect me deeply.
  18. Anyone got it yet? It only downloads to Chrome Firefox or Safari, none of which I operate from. Sounds fun and yet another thing like Fb Twitter to constantly look at.
  19. We need a John Lewis in Lordship lane.... Peter Jones is my fave shop in London and like those above never had a problem, one issue on a juicer I bought and it was exchanged with no problems.
  20. True, but the same could be said of so many things the government funds: faith schools for example. Are the irish to be afforded the same 'rights' or special exemptions and treatments now as say the native Americans in the USA, who are allowed to run casinos in states where gambling is otherwise not allowed? A naff example in a way but nevertheless! We're all in this together. London's government and UK government does (should?) not discriminate against any race so therefore, no, why should we save the Irish festival? I'm still miffed the council have cancelled the Southwark in Bloom award! I got Silver last year - might have got gold this year, but I'd much rather the money went on ratty's missus' job!
  21. Lots more information about Austins in Peckham Society booklets. I highly recommend joining. Look on line.
