Police helicopters over camberwell cemetery? (Shooting)
PeckhamRose replied to Toxtoth's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi folks, I hope you do not mind me posting this but next Thursday is the Police Ward Panel at Harris Girls Academy and I hope any of you who feel you want to be involved and ask the police questions, can come along. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,787109 -
I am a cat not a dog owner - but anyway would like to point out that it may be the case that - like human flu vaccines - the vaccines for dogs and cats are probably also NOT 'live' so in that context they don't have the same after effects and may not have the same other effects when mixed with other stuff. This is just for info. I am really pleased you posted this as I am now reading and learning a lot! I agree about getting professional advice on this but the irony is as vets are in business they have a vested interest in keeping you coming back. Tough one.

Yeah! Does any of his man junk look like a suspicious article? That - or superglue the lock. Daft of course because it will mean it's there for even longer. -
There are also a good few fabric shops in Lewisham that may sell it. One is on the corner of Rennell Street and the High Street (the end nearest the roundabout junction with A20) and the other is near opposite that.

Wanted - recommendation for a really lovely hotel in Brighton
PeckhamRose replied to PeckhamRose's topic in The Lounge
Jonny thanks so much. I looked on TAdviser and indeed that 19 one and Madeira were completely trashed by people. That many reviewers can't be wrong! BlanchHouse looks fab. Thanks! Anyone else welcome to contribute ideas though, I will book it next week. -
Oh really? I just looked at the map and I thought it said Peckham? Must have read it wrong.

Why did that large bit of land east of California / Nevada get called Arizona? Why did that other bit of land near Texas get called Arkansas and why is it pronounced Ark An Saw. Why is that bit of land east of Russia get called Alaska. A?

It's false security. I'm female and I occasionally walk across the park after dark or down Rye Lane alone, I feel no safer just because there are cameras in rye Lane, and feel no more in danger just because there aren't, in the park. Point being, do some self defence, and don't look like a victim (carrying keys, talking into a mobile, looking nervous) etc. You can be sure there are cameras in the shops and Post office etc, and passing busses etc. But why live in fear? I'm sure you're not and were just wondering. But that's me.

Why, what were you thinking of doing? ;)

Police helicopters over camberwell cemetery? (Shooting)

Please see the message from SNT that I have started as a new thread so as to attract as much attention to it as possible, assuming and hoping the moderator allows it. Thank you. -
I have been emailed the following and requested that it be put on the East Dulwich Forum. "Following the shooting in East Dulwich on Thursday afternoon, extra officers have been drafted into the area and surrounding boroughs to reassure the public, and make it clear to anyone even considering being involved in violence that it will not be tolerated. Our priority is to bring to justice to those responsible for this horrific shooting and to prevent any further incidents from occurring over the coming days. A significant number of witnesses have come forward and detectives from Operation Trident have been working around the clock to gather evidence and piece together exactly what occurred and identify those responsible for this outrageous act. Trident received strong community support while carrying out inquiries in the area last night, which continue today. Policing plans are in place across south London to prevent and deter violence and other crime from occurring and to provide reassurance to the public as they enjoy Bonfire Night celebrations over the weekend. Historically this is a time of the year that the Met steps up police activity, targeting crime traditionally associated with seasonal events. Thank you. PECKHAM RYE SNT 0207 161 8325"

Police helicopters over camberwell cemetery? (Shooting)
PeckhamRose replied to Toxtoth's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I heard this as I left at about 11.30 and yet when I went to (do a funeral at) Lambeth Crematorium, that crematorium had police helicopters circling as well and yet there weren't any young people being cremated there today. No idea what they were doing there as well. But indeed I agree, a sad day for the families and friends involved. -
I saw the back of them too much! They were / are really dangerous to try and overtake!

The day they knocked down the Palais my sister stood and cried

Ditto Peckham Rye Lido indeed. Margate Pier. OK that came down in the 1976 storms and wasn't knocked down by peeps. -
I have a FABULOUS recipe for grapefruit sauce with soy sauce and honey and all sorts, in the Two Fat Ladies cook book. I can not scan that and don't have time to write it all out. So if it floats your boat, PM me and I will give you my number and you can call and I'll read it out over the phone. It is absolutely delicious and really rich.

Does replacing single with double glazing make financial sense?
PeckhamRose replied to gm99's topic in The Lounge
I live in a block of flats. Nearly 3 years ago we had double glazing put in the whole block. We have had to pay ?8,500 but of course that will add the value of block should we ever leave. We have a two bedroomed flat but it is on a sort of peninsular of the block so we had windows and private balcony doors on 3 sides. Since that day we have only put our fire on twice. So even with all that snow and nastiness, only twice did we need the fire on, when - beforehand - we had it on every day in winter! Despite raises in fuel prices, our fuel bills are actually still less. As long as you have a healthy efficient boiler too, all should be good. (We had 3 years interest free to pay off the ?8,500 and had several years' notice by the way!) -
Sazzle you wonderful traveller you. So happy (and envious!) you're off on another fab trip! Not that you asked specifically, but if you have time I highly recommend you nip up into Georgia and visit Savannah, you will not want to leave. It's sooooooo purrrrdy.

Agree with above, if I have to actually do some work and register then sod it. Oh self employment is wonderful!
