  1. Who needs conversation?
  2. The toms are DELICIOUS! I'm eating them like sweets, so not much is going to make the sauce! But the recipe is a goodun, promise. Yes, add basil if you want, add sugar (Unnecessary) and lemon huice if you want. Or just follow my recipe and see what you think first. Thanks for the advice. My little balcony got a silver in the Southwark In Bloom thingy and I am so proud.
  3. For get all that. Well, maybe not the hunk above, but those things are just things. Tho not the hunk above. Take time off and do a ROAD TRIP.
  4. I'm working, but only this afternoon. I had a weekend yesterday - went to Tate Britain to see the Romantics and Rude Britannia Exhibition, then wandered up to Whitehall to see flypast. But this weekend working a bit and pottering around a bit, but - yaknow - happy. Clockhouse via a stroll across the park is a must, though.
  5. I hope they will also start selling PARAKEET. Bloody noisy things!
  6. Mr PR and I were at Whitehall. We saw the planes. It was very emotional and moving if you remember what it was all about.
  7. *Looks up bagel recipes in the all American Bread Machine recipe book, and decides to make some tomorrow....*
  8. Bicarbonate of soda is cheaper and does the same job. Also works well as an eye wash, mixed with a little water of course...!
  9. By 5pm aren't you normally too cider'ed up to notice the kids? But I agree, kids in pubs after 5pm, not good.
  10. (Better said out loud) A good cook never cooks meat and peas in the same pot.
  11. Cheeky sod. I am neither bowlegged or sated, but then "women motorcyclists don't NEED to do it".
  12. As sixties hippy chick MELANIE wrote and sang so well: "I really loved Harold"!
  13. Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
  14. Sorry, but - SO?
  15. Agreed. I can not believe the rules in this country to protect people and animals, but if you say you're doing something and you're religious, you can get away with stupidity and cruelty, as highlighted by DJKQ above. But hey, smart fellas who can wear turbans instead of motorcycle helmets. If you land on a soft pillow thing (turban) you may survive better than if you're head's in a helmet as the hardeness is on the outside, which is the wrong way round. But, back to topic, I can not believe how halal is allowed to be sold. It IS cruel and yet we pander to this religious nonsense in case we upset people. Pahhhh.
  16. Phoning the dentist in a very nervous state and hearing the miserable receptionist answer, ".... can you hold on for me please?" NO, and it't not for YOU, it's for ME. And when miserable receptionist does answer, there is no friendliness in her voice whatsoever.
  17. VBC, netball? Along with the Sunday footie with DJKQ you must be getting very fit innit! Totally impressed.
  18. Been thinking about getting one of them Dyson Airblade thingies. ?100 a tad expensive though. But they look good and you can train small animals to jump through its hoop. Couldn't you attach the ipod to a piece of wire /string and tie it to each side, or top and bottom, of the airblade, and just dry it out to death? Soooo Songs for wet iPods. Anything by Wet Wet Wet obviously.
  19. Having worked for a not short enough short time in construction industry, a contractor was usually late and unreliable. I am a sole trader / independent contractor (as USA puts it) and otherwise self employed. LostThePlot started a group for us self employed lot, but either the dates for meets were a nightmare for everyone to be able to go to, or he himself was so busy he couldn't run them! Maybe we should ask the Forum person for yet another section JUST for self employed people.
  20. Nah it was me. The one day a year I don't ride the motorcycle.
  21. Watch Sky here or here or here. If the link is broken basically Sky have a pub finder on their website so you know where you can watch footie in this area. Hope this helps.
  22. Narnia that in turn hit the nail oin the head for me, since - for me - breathing in and out has not always been something I could easily do! Recently though I have been better, and now my Mum is nearing the end of her life, I am determined to enjoy mine more if I can. Money DOES play a role, there is no question. Don't need much but do need enough not to worry about the bills and food and so on. The whole question about animal behaviour is fascinating. Yes, there is evidence animals grieve. But equally I remember some scientist saying that just because an animal makes a noise and action which we interpret as it being in pain/distress, does not necessarily mean it is. I need to get a life!
  23. Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
  24. Amen to that DJKQ! I watched the doc on the seals at Monterey last night, and cried when 'pinkblue' did his number on the mother. And cried when the man then heard baby bashing the crabs on the side of his boat. We humans are soooooooo daft! Then I did a bit of living life and did the washing up....
