  1. Flick them with a tea towel like the big boys used to do to your arse as you passed them in the showers... Or was it just me? Anyway, hand to eye coordination is called for or you can smash your own window. And when its buzzy body hits the deck it is very satisfying
  2. We tried the new Italian last night. I had a jolly nice spag bol and a flagon of house red with only minimal tomato sauce whiplash staining on the shirt this morning. The back garden deck alfresco dining thing is very pleasant as is the genuine Italian lady who served us. It isn't Indian Mischief management/ownership any more. Chapter and verse
  3. Hello James I can't see what's what on the hospital thread. Would you kindly let me/us know if there really is a proposal to knock the building down? If so, I might have to start mobilising the troops Thank you Steve

    Butcher news

A word to the wise. The bloke at the Plough in the shop with no sign, not only sells good meat, he has his own farm in Kent. So all you Dulwich foodies, you're missing a trick standing in the queue down the Lane. He's selling his own stuff - well the lamb, beef and pork anyway. If you ask him, he'll show you photos of his happy looking herd
  5. Koreans are generally smaller in stature than running dog capitalists aren't they? It might have been shock and awe at the length of Norman's rifle
  6. Always fascinating. A narrow escape cs
  7. Learn to love it
  8. There's one in my garden. It's taller than Canary Wharf and looks like it should be in Lombardy not Dulwich
  9. John Lennon used to request Chocolate Olivers http://chocolateoliver.com/
  10. How perspicacious of you HB. We are both national treasures
  11. I read this as 'local slut.'
  12. Is the name of the pop up pub opposite Gipsy Hill station. In it this weekend, Mr. Jah Lush and I shifted several gallons of the most delicious bitters I've ever had. The Bedlam bitter is a thing of beauty and so is the cider with ginger. It may close in a couple of weeks so I suggest you get round there.
  13. What a very odd choice. Nice as a flowery Fiat 500 might be, if I were going joy riding, I might pick something with a bit more oomph, that was also a little less conspicuous. Good luck

How's the head? My advice: Don't look at the Visa receipt until after lunch
  16. C S Forester lived in Underhill Road, Enid Blyton at the Plough, and Steve Overbury might be in the Plough
  17. The owner, who's conspicuously failing to sell any of the glasses, knives, forks and other paraphernalia, says his son is going to run it as a local place for local people. When questioned, he says, 'I don't know, it's up to him, but upstairs, maybe some sofas, the kind of place where people put a case of champagne behind the bar. 'I know people in Dulwich, I live here thirty years, that is what they used to do.'
  18. When I spot it, I'm going to ram it, get the pump action shotgun out and waste them all
  19. There's a new bench at Court Lane Gardens commemorating the deaths of, I think, six people in a V2 strike. There were three killed from one family. It's inconceivable that on a day just like this you might walk down Court Lane and be hit by a rocket. Does anyone know how big the blast site would have been/was?

    Street Art

Don't get me wrong, I think street art can be nice. And I think IngridB did a helluva job. But the big bee at the Plough is a stinker. Can we have this one instead?
  21. If I'd been a landing craft pilot, I'd have headed for Sweden
