Semi seriously though, I wonder if there are any stats for international benefits claimants. I mean, if you have to scratch on, why not do it on the Riviera?
  3. So does that mean that if I got a job in a bar in Calais for a year and then decided to go and live in St. Tropez and 'look for work,' I could claim income support/some sort of benefit?

  5. Such is the gathering madness of 'working' from home, I became convinced that Henry was trying to kill me, always contriving to trip me as I stood at the top of the stairs, laughing while I fell screaming... Be warned.
  6. My mate's Polish cleaner has resigned because she is better off on income support (single mum, dad pushed off). How does that work then? Does UK PLC pay for that or does it get divvied up by Europe? I can't imagine there are many unemployed British cleaners in Warsaw drawing income support. Does Poland even have it?

  8. Would it be uncouth to introduce Ginger to a Saveloy, or a 'Rubber husband' as my grand dad used to call them?

  14. Every patient's experience is wildly different. People will still moan or praise the system whether it's better or not. The cost will increase either way. It's all too big to measure.

  16. I had a look around Belsize Park the other day. I don't know why it's called that because it doesn't have a park. The houses were sort of OK. Then I came home. Perhaps I was in the wrong bit.

  19. I've supported a few Avaaz petitions but not its 'Last chance to save the NHS -- 24 hours left' campaign. It's a complex issue and Avaaz petitions are better suited to simples like saving whales. The word is 'slacktivism'
