  2. I'm looking forward to Mons. I've always been a bit disappointed at the offerings at The Cheese Block (quite apart from the charmless demeanour of grumpy boots that owns it.)
  3. Crikey, I hope you're ok Andrew. Thank you for sharing this awful experience. I wish you well.
  4. If it's self explanatory, why are you posting about it? If you don't care, why are you making such a ridiculous fuss?
  5. Why s that strange or annoying? It's a very sensible thing to do. Don't be stupid.
  6. They were never moving to Brockley, they just opened another branch there.
  7. It's sometimes inconvenient when we'd like to shop and have the dog with us but we suck it up and do the shopping while leaving the dog safely at home for a limited amount of time. I think there are many places that unfairly exclude dogs but there's not much we can do about it and we tailor our time according to our needs and the dog's needs. It would be very handy to be able to tie the dog up outside a shop for a few minutes but the risks are far too great these days. We also seek out dog friendly places where we can go. There aren't enough but there are a fair few.
  8. Looking forward to trying this place!
  9. Well behaved dogs in food shops and cafes shouldn't be a problem.
  10. Stealing someone's dog is a pretty evil thing to do. I don't understand though why you'd leave one tied up outside a shop though.
  11. Also adding a big thumbs up for Ganapatti. The food is excellent, especially compared to the other (largely very poor) Indian restaurants in the area. It's in a different league altogether. If Jaflong is your idea of good food, there's little hope! I wouldn't go to Ganapatti for Valentine's Day though, in fact we avoid restaurants altogether and have a nice meal at home.

  14. We're doing no drinking in the week, which for us is a big change. So far it's great - sleeping much better and already lost a fair bit of weight. Alcohol-free beer/wine etc. is invariably vile. Would much rather have water/herbal teas etc.
  15. This wouldn't qualify as "good" though. 17. Require or not it was very badly managed. Constantly overflowing and a magnet for flytippers.

  19. Would Apple TV work? That's what we use for Netflix etc.
  20. Excessive use of cars for school runs needs to be dealt with.
  21. Yes, the nanny is clearly an idiot but it's not her fault this man tried to do this.
  22. Also agree with Louisa and Fox. I don't say that every day!
  23. Not a silly question DaveR. I get on at Denmark Hill but same line (usually any time between 0845 and 0945). Yesterday, everything was late and today mostly on time. I was struck today by how it felt like the first time for ages that a train had been on time in the morning. I'm sure it will be back to normal tomorrow (i.e. a combination of lateness/cancellations/four coach trains.)
  24. They do look lovely but I'd stick an alarm on it if I were you.
