  1. Cars using Camberwell Grove has never been a worry, it's HGVs and large vans that are the problem. The width restriction took care of that, so let's hope they reopen the road as soon as possible but maintain the width restriction.
  2. Also done. Thanks very much for spearheading this, your efforts are much appreciated.

    What Jeremy said.
  4. We've discovered that Stormbird in Camberwell are happy for us to bring the pooch. Still keen to hear of more restaurants in ED/Camberwell that are fine with dawgs.
  5. You could tell him to watch something less stupid.
  6. Thank you for this info!
  7. Exactly rahrarah. The rules at this location haven't changed, they've just decided to start enforcing them. Many people are still breaking the rules though from what I've seen in the last couple of weeks, so the fines must be rolling in.
  8. What was ridiculous about the original post, BicBasher? This barber seems like a dick and I'm glad of the warning.

  10. Thanks so far folks. Keep them coming! I'm particularly interested in pubs and restaurants that are dog friendly.

  12. Just resurrecting this thread. Now being owners of a lovely (and well behaved) dog, we're keen to hear about dog-friendly places in ED and Camberwell. We were regulars at The Crooked Well anyway and they welcome dogs. The Camberwell Arms allow dogs in the bar but not the restaurant. Does anyone have any tips/updates on the above on pubs and restaurants in the area that are dog friendly. More and more places seem fine about this these days but would be great to know how things are locally. Thanks in anticipation.
  13. Is Satellite a joke account?
  14. I loved that series, fascinating stuff. And we were living on Camberwell Grove at the time.

The response from the owner of this establishment tells us all we need to know really. How unpleasant and what a spectacularly bad bit of PR.
  16. I think it's a great initiative. Publications like the Mail and the Express do little more than incite hatred. Companies with a large advertising spend should be thinking about what their (and therefore our) money is supporting. The press are free to say what they want but I don't want to support them financially, either directly or indirectly. Lego have announced today that they are ceasing their association with the Mail because of this. Good for them.
  17. Well done Jim. Clearly a place to be avoided, thanks very much for the warning.
  18. Then it's an egg and bacon sandwich. Very nice indeed but not the real thing.
  19. Had a delicious one at The Pigeon Hole off Camberwell Church Street. Lovely fresh crusty bread, loads of butter and bacon. A dash of brown sauce (a proper bacon sandwich should never contain additional ingredients beyond a sauce.)

No but they wouldn't make any difference. It's horrendous round there and will be for a long time to come. None of the roads allow for two way traffic and it adds a huge amount of time to local journeys.

  22. I tell them I'm a fiercely dedicated and very happy gay man(which is true)and that their "religion" is not something I want to hear any more about. That usually scares them off. They have vile beliefs about homosexuality.

Calm down. V sensible post rendleharris. Thanks for the rational assessment and for pointing out the inaccuracies. I really wish pop/fazer no ill at all but he's definitely his own worst enemy.
  25. Oh for crying out loud pop or fazer, do stop insulting people who have a different opinion to you, it's incredibly rude and tiresome and it looks very much to me like you're heading for a ban. It's perfectly clear that gypo is a pejorative term, regardless of education or background. You don't need to know what a pejorative term means in order to use one.
