The other thing I've noticed lately (particularly last summer) is that I've seen a lot of estate agents' boards outside houses advertising things like school fetes. Not sure how that works - does the houseowner get paid? Are they doing it for free to advertise the fete? Either way they're an eyesore and add to the general problem. There were loads of them around East Dulwich/Camberwell borders.

Why would someone do that? It's something you see pretty much every day in South London. Why are you assuming they were black?

I'd find it creepy and I know that some of them do (although I'm sure some of them love it.) I am very happy to not be famous! Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Creepy? Don't be daft! -

No but it's still quite creepy. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > edcam - well there's a limit. Yes but that doesn't mean you are public property. I agree to an extent that it is to be expected but still think it's not unreasonable to be allowed to go about your business without your personal space being constantly invaded. As exciting as it might be to see someone you're impressed by, the greatest honour you can do them is to leave them alone and let them go about their business. Unless they are a reality tv "star", most well known people would prefer to be left alone. -
MissMadMooo - the question of whether it's present usually appears on the form you have to fill in when selling a property. Advising people to lie about it is a tad irresponsible.

If she wasn't so repetitively troll-like, it would have been fine but she did in the end take it too far. Sniping can be very offputting for some. I for one am glad the days of cliquey bitchiness on this forum have gone.

Louisa is a troll. Celebrity obsession is sad. Elvis lives. 2 of these things are true. -
Farage was an offensive and oafish arsehole. Sturgeon did well.

Like I said, it's not a public service and once it is open I'm sure it'll be a huge success and will be very popular with the blow-ins. -

Was it removed due to yet another ghoulish and disrespectful response to a tragedy? That happens too often here. -

I agree. It will open when it opens. People seem to behave as if it's some sort of public service "right" for the place to be open by now and for those who bought membership, it will just be extended accordingly. The entitlement some people feel on this forum is extraordinary. katanita Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Pissed off? Why no crits? If you've been incorrectly ticketed then you should be challenging it. If, however, you were ticketed because you parked where you shouldn't be parked then why should you get out of paying it?

I genuinely think they should be banned. They're a blight and don't really serve any useful purpose. I don't think there are many people househunting that don't just do it online nowadays. It's just free advertising.

I got Lewes. Never been there, so no idea (apart from the sea being appealing!)

To be honest, ED is quite far out for this. I'd rather they spent more money on the existing (inadequate) transport systems and kept the bikes to Zone 1.
