  1. Oh not again. We live in London. There will be planes.

  3. Do these people even know where East Dulwich is? Easy D? The Horniman? Give me strength.
  4. I rarely drink it now but when I do I'll go for a Stella or a Kronenbourg. Went through a phase of trying bitter until I gave up when I finally accepted it's just rank and not fit for human consumption.
  5. We ate there a couple of months after it opened and the average but overpriced food and lack of atmosphere ensured that we never returned.

  7. Agree with ruffers, the rules on yellow boxes are pretty clear.
  8. Orla Kiely IS plastered with that sort of graphics.
  9. Meh.
  10. I'm borderline Camberwell and there isn't anything to compare in SE5. This forum covers much of SE5 anyway.

  12. It makes me very happy to see others who feel we are slowly being poisoned by the ubiquity of the evil green stuff.

  14. 15-20 yrs is good going, especially if you don't get it serviced regularly. They reckon on 8-12 years. Of course manufacturers say less. Probably wise to get a new one but I bet it won't last as long as that one. Will probably be much more economical though....

  17. Fazer, I think what people are saying is that it sounds like quite an overreaction and an obsession, as it doesn't appear to be a problem for most people. Therefore your greatest problem might be with your reaction to the noise, rather than the noise itself. Mention of "the attack on Pearl Harbour" as being similar would indicate the above to be true.
  18. But the point is that they haven't "suddenly started" flying over ED. They've been doing it for the 20 years I've been here and I (like most people) haven't noticed an appreciable (or indeed any) difference. fazer71 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > > If it was a Motorway or flyover that had suddenly > appeared at the end of your road you'd probably > have issue the flight path over your house is no > different. > > We have never been asked if we minded aircraft to > suddenly start flying over ED we have had no say > in this life changing motorway in the sky. > > > I don't think it's a lot to ask... 19. I might be wrong but that appears to be referring to trials on departing aircraft, which doesn't affect East Dulwich but is an issue for people local to Heathrow. 20. Dockyard Doris was a real drag queen (real name allegedly Colin Devereaux). In my teens I crewed for a panto season at my local theatre and he used to drink a bottle of rose and half a bottle of rum during each performance. The use of "Doris" to refer to a woman is new to me. Has distinctly uncomfortable undertones though.
  21. I'm with Penguin. Have lived here for 20 years and no discernible difference. It's clearly something of an obsession for some people, in which case it's not surprising the perceive it as being a nuisance, whereas for most people it's not a problem.
  22. How is this giving access to burglars? I'm sure it's irritating but I'm finding it hard to imagine how this benefits burglars. Dumping rubbish on the street is pretty antisocial.
  23. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This looks good... New Peckham Market. We could do with a good food market, North Cross Road is nice but not enough food for sale there.
