Very weak and ineffective sir 🤓
  3. Taken from the Giles annual 2003 I wonder how many of us will want to do the same after the results are in ?
  4. thanks woodwarde Feels like a case of we are doing it regardless of what residents and councillors say, unless you can provide a case by case reason why we shouldn't and we wills do a lip service consultation and still do what we want anyway... Sigh it's about time council officers realised they work for the public and not the other way around.... Looking forward to the consultation and pushing back on expensive proposals like this when the cash could be better spent elsewhere...
  5. Three answers in one post Seabag - me an odd bod, can you seriously say that from the botley of your heart ? But don't walk by the Britexit Arms, come in, have a pint of our house bitter "weasel" and roll your sleeves up for a fight, go wan you know you want to... Loz - sorry, I did't mention saving ?8.5 billion, in mearly pointed out that by reducing overheads of duplication your argument for needing to create new uk departments or quangos didn't hold water as those roles were already here in one form or the other. Londonmix - we import far more from Europe than we export to it, maybe we should charge them to trade with us otherwise we can increase our use of non eu trading partners from 60% of our sales to a higher percentage of sales outside the EU However Londonmix, you are so correct, people are either for or against the EU and numbers alone won't sway them, but cold hard facts will and so far neither side is producing any of real substance. Rolls up sleeves, puts pint of extra strong beer down and prepares for the afternoons arm wrestling contest with mr Seabag...
  6. Loz we pay more than our fair share to employ the eu representatives and departments, therefore bringing the work in house and redeploying those resources here (no expense accounts for living in Brussels...) will represent a saving to the UK plus safeguard their jobs Sorry but I am finding your argument on this point weak and lacking in vision.

  8. Interesting point Loz, yes the functions will need to be done, but at the moment someone in Europe does it, passes the decisions and money to an existing department in the UK who then passes it on, surely we already have most of the departments in place just paying lip service to the European departments and counterparts. I am not convinced by your argument that we would need to create extra departments to do what is already happening as money doesn't just appear in business accounts here without passing through our government (or their departments) first, but if we do need to have more departments that would mean more jobs created. Win win for brexit I personally believe based on your argument.

  10. I have a question With the official announcement of the in and out campaigns yesterday and the agreement on what they can spend (up to ?7million) does the governments ?9million mailshot count towards that or has the Britain stronger in Europe campaigne got an unfair advantage in that it has the mailshot plus the ability to spend up to another ?7 million ? Very confused

I borrowed one of these magic badges once, it didn't work for me and I got all sorts of tuts as apparently s bloke can't get pregnant despite the obvious beer belly... . I thought we were moving towards equal rights but there you go...

  15. Simple thing to check is does it have a number plate on it ? If so can you see the matching plate on a car nearby, chances are that the owner couldn't get the car and caravan parked together and had to temporarily park them separately. Maybe a note on the cars windscreen asking the owner to reposition it outside their property would be a start. Also how long has it been there ? If only overnight then maybe they are off soon for a holiday , if longer then again try and locate the owners and ask them politely to move it Always nicer to talk with the owner first before trying to get enforcement action as often the owner will be sympathetic to the issue and try and do something to resolve it. As uncleglen pointed out the police won't always enforce against it and I am not sure what southwarks policy is but again they may not have powers so speaking to the owner or leaving a polite note may be your best first course of action.

  20. My money is on Lee Harris from the "Cannabis is safer than Alcohol" party Only because I have the theory that his followers will be too stoned to find the ballot box "Like man I was going to vote but I got high and posted my vote into a kebab" Of course I could be wrong but I am sure going to hang around to watch what happens on the day and possibly enjoy the drifting smoke as people go by....
  21. I am not planning on leaving East Dulwich if that's what you mean !
  22. Foxy The letter can be acted on as soon as it arrives, prior to the change you couldn't renew before the 15th of the month prior to the renewal date (I.e. 15th of March for April 1st) but now as soon as you get the letter, renew and Bobs your giddy aunt ! Only a "fool" would put it in the draw (said mr T )
  23. Good morning East Dulwich Just checking people's properties survived the high winds and rain last night Fully expecting more than one tree down on lordship lane (see main discussion for details), a good few fences gone and cats out of place after hiding from the storm.
