My father , many years ago, got some old paving slabs of the local council workers, broke them in half and built a fireplace and work surface out of them. Now those were the days of austerity and pulling in the belt buckles whilst I was growing up... Ps food never really taste right whilst I was young, sort of tainted with soaked in dog wee...

A friend mentioned this company http://www.tisogps.com who sell movement sensors that text you and are built into a PAYG tracker which can be hidden on a bike. Won't stop it getting stolen but may aide it's recovery. On of many companies selling similar products I have to add. -
I really don't get why Easter moves around so much, I get the prescribed reason that Jesus rose from the dead on the first Sunday following the feast of Passover. With Christians coming up with another way of determining the date. They decided that Easter would be celebrated on the first Sunday after (never on) the Paschal full moon. Theory all well and good but if you look at the year 0 you can work out which date Jesus was supposed to have risen on, and surely that date should be fixed as Easter going forward. After all Christmas Day (the supposed birth of Jesus) doesn't change based on lunar cycles and is always fixed on the same date every year, so why is the date he died and rose again so flexible ... All very confusing and illogical As for other things that confuse me over Easter Rabbits delivering eggs (the pagan symbol of rebirth and Spring) and the fact they are now chocolate (the western idea of commercialism and selling a "product" to the masses) really doesn't gel well with Jesus dying for our sins... Hot cross buns I kind of get but the rest is just confusing and detracts from the real message of Easter (however chocolate eggs good) Yours, a very confused

Lamb is a personal choice, like some on here my preference is pink, unlike most it has to be done the French way for me, still bleating and skipping around the plate... Looking forward with sadness to the last James Martin Saturday kitchen tomorrow.

Most people won't see the point of this post, is it written on a top secret keyboard and redacted to stop blow ins from getting the information that the Elders of East Dulwich know by osmosis ? I get it, but do you?

This drives me towards being a mad dog . I ordered something from Amazon, with an expected delivery of Friday, last night I got an email saying they have dispatched it, estimated delivery Tuesday This morning they sent another email saying it is out for delivery today How is a dog supposed to plan his life when delivery companies change their schedule like that. Makes me realise why I prefer shopping local for everything except those special order items 😳

'bout now Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Seabag Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > What gender are we talking > > > > Or are we ignoring the elephant in the room > > > Exactly how small is your penis? I guess this is the problem with the parking issue here, as every man estimates his as 12 inches and tells his lady such, but in reality it's 6 or less, so when he then tries to park a car his depth perception says he has 12 inches between bumpers but it's really only 6 between, he then drives those 12 inches and bang there's the fender blender (as the yanks say) What more can I say 😳

I feel like I am stuck in the middle of a building site
TheArtfulDogger replied to malumbu's topic in The Lounge
Building work and increased numbers of construction sites is always a good indicator of the economic state of the nation, so I always think it's a good thing -
I guess the title of this thread is the better way around as "parts of Peckham 'becoming like Crawley'" would be a far worse slur IMHO
-
You wouldn't get this sort of problem if the Chinese were a bigger superpower than America Still I guess chopsticks would be a challenge when eating McDonald's as the gherkins are slippery little buggers
-
isnt Crawley a part of a government experiment into inbreeding ? Feels that wY every time I visit or it could just my imagination !

Her comes the start of a CPZ for East Dulwich, by reducing parking near a junction by 10m each side, thus removing at least one space where cars park (nearer the end of the 10m distance from the junction) it then adds pressure on the remaining spaces leading to it being easier for the council to pursue their anti car policy across the borough and making money for the cash strapped borough by enforcing parking fines and revenue from "administration charges" for the scheme. Whilst I am all for making junctions safer for all, this does smack of a sledge hammer to crack a nut with the council able to raise revenue from cars parked on corners and the possible introduction of a CPZ I for one want to raise my objection to this being implemented borough wide.

Heads up - Interesting threads in the main section
TheArtfulDogger replied to Keef's topic in The Lounge
The thread isn't interesting, but the title "V1rgin down for hours" excited me until I realised it was talking about broadband and not Oral activity Sigh PS excuse the use of 1 in the word in place of "I" but for some reason if I spelt it correctly I couldn't save the post... Are we being restricted in what we can say now ?
