  1. ?As someone who has several thousand pounds of debt incurred from past unsuccessful entrepreneurial attempts, I recognise that there may be all sorts of reasons why a person who looks prosperous may actually be very hard up. And I would have great sympathies if that were the case.? You may not have directly accused the man of shop-lifting but there is a definite implication here.
  2. ?Middle class-looking man? in Co-op puts items in calico bag before going to check out to pay for them Or Busy Rabbit spends time and energy composing long post about this and other stuff besides. Now which of these two behaviours is the most bizarre? Hmmm let me think ... And if you?re the man with the calico bag, we?d love to hear from you.
  3. It was also very strong at the Calton Avenue / Turney Road Junction with Dulwich Village. Seems to have been widespread
  4. As cars are so dangerous, it is only sensible and prudent that cyclists protect themselves and their children appropriately. It makes no sense at all to point your finger at cars and say ?they?re dangerous? with the attitude that this entitles cyclists to behave in a way as if the cars weren?t there.
  5. Are you saying then Rendel that this is both good parenting and good cycling practice?
  6. I don?t see why a survey is of any benefit at this stage. Helen has been extremely proactive in trying to resolve the situation and I hate to say it but it sounds as if the councillors are trading on her hard work and to put across the message ?they care?. But the LibDems were just as bad, see the previous thread on here with James Barber launching his survey to find out local attitudes regarding a CPZ. BTW - did he ever share the results of that survey?
  7. The autumn leaves one looks like it could be the walkway from Barry Road to the beginning of Nunhead Lane but I agree that the other two look more like Dulwich Park than East Dulwich. And what is it with EDAG?s signature at the bottom - Village Wide Banner Exhibition. What Village? Or have Dulwich Estates agreed to banners being mounted on lamp-posts in Dulwich Village? That?ll be the day.
  8. The same thing happened to me this morning, East Dulwich Lordship Lane was not available. The last time I ordered something for collection at LL, the area was absolutely crammed with parcels waiting for collection, some quite large and the staff had great difficulty in moving about and finding some items. So it doesn't surprise me if they have suspended it as a collection point. The station's not so far to get to but I have a feeling, with East Dulwich's love of online shopping, the same thing may happen before too long.

Latest guidelines from NICE state that its curative powers are ?inconclusive? https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/cranberry-juice-uti-urine-infections-treatment-cure-nice-health-guidelines-a8342536.html
  10. 6pm ITN London news tonight according to Helen's Twitter feed
  11. Thanks for the heads up. It's very easy, especially at this time of year, to donate to charities that some of us would rather not if we had more information.
  12. The cafes in John Harvard and Canada Water libraries are very successful but their positioning within the area is much better in both cases. In the case of the small one in the new Grove Vale library, it will be tucked away from most foot traffic and I can?t see it being so successful but I guess time will tell.
  13. I hope so, I?m a big fan (except when they try to sell you other stuff at check out!)

    GP At Hand

I don?t have any complaint about the new means of delivering a service i.e. using AI but I am though uneasy about the social implications on the wider community. GP at Hand appear to practice discriminatory methods of accepting who they treat, if a ?traditional? GP practice were to set the same parameters, there would be an outcry. So yes, it could well lead to a two tier health service and I?m cynical that more funding would be forthcoming to compensate. ETA (after seeing more recent posts)whoever wins any forthcoming general election

    GP At Hand

The Advertising Standards Authority banned their advertising for lack of clarity. See https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/oct/03/advert-for-gp-access-smartphone-app-banned-by-watchdog?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other The Royal College of General Practitioners are quoted in the article as saying in a letter to Matt Hancock that GP at Hand ?could result in a ?two-tier? primary care service where healthier patient, with less complex medical conditions, can get an online appointment quickly and conveniently, while those with the greatest clinical need, such as those with frailty, multimorbidity or poor mental health, find it more difficult to access timely care when they need it.?
  16. EAst Dulwich bingo. But do you live in a proposed CPZ?
  17. Not that you?ll ever see this and besides the post will be deleted soon but do you get paid for posting adverts like this?
  18. For those not able to wait until midday for their M&S fix on a Sunday, this new one opens at 9.30 am
  19. There is though, as we have seen, a vast difference between salaried GPs and partners. Does this apply to those on a salary?
  20. The BMA website shows that full time salaried GPs are paid in the range between ?57,000 and ?87,000 per annum. For a part time doctor working 20 hours a week, salary would be a minimum of ?30,000. Partners of course earn a lot more. https://www.bma.org.uk/advice/employment/pay/general-practitioners-pay
  21. Sweeping up the fallen leaves, which increase year by year, keep them all busy at this time of year.
  22. I thought that Southwark was consulting with residents BEFORE drawing up their plans which seems a sensible way to proceed. The survey isn?t that fiddly and does give residents a chance to have their say, which judging by the amount of threads on EDF about public transport, would be welcome. ETA Just seen there is a Draft Movement Plan https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/movement-plan/supporting_documents/Movement%20Plan_Consultation%20version.pdf
  23. Southwark Council have launched a Consultation for a ?Movement Plan? that will set the direction for transport planning within the borough for the next 20 years. They have devised an online survey for completion. https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/movement-plan/
  24. We don?t want them - back at you!
  25. It?s ironic that by starting this thread you?re prolonging it yourself. Perhaps I lack imagination but I can?t think of any ulterior motive. Let it go Rendel, Admin has spoken and you?re becoming obsessive.
