You're right, of course, I am one of those 'childless folks'. It does feel so very different from this side. What happened to me, I used to quite like kids. Perhaps, I'm heading to middle age, a life of endlessly complaining about any niggling thing. Oh well.

I try to be as tolerant as possible, but some of those buggies are becoming the equivalent of a chelsea tractor. And some of the kids look suspiciously old to be wheeled around. And don't get me started about the creche/pub Sunday afternoons at the Herne Tavern. What with the customers bringing half a truck load of Sunday supplements, their ever so lovely children, buggies*, I have felt rather besieged, as well as having a sore throat from having to scream at my friends to be heard. The endless stoking up of our fears must have a lot to do with way that crime is reported in the papers and on tv. In 2005-2006, there were 56 gun-related murders in Britain. Ask most people and I'm sure they wouldn't guess so low.

I'm very happy to see these people, highlighting the issue of climate change by taking time out of their busy schedules, will spend a week shouting through the barbedwire of the perimiter fence of Heathrow. I hope that the passengers, departing to warmer climes, will feel suitably chastised. Though I don't think there's much chance of hearing the protesting voices over the jet engines.
