  1. If you were hard of hearing, it might be worthwhile considering, but the only advantage I can see for the location is if you were late for a train, you could shimmey over the viaduct and jump the tracks.
  2. Bairstow Eves' nickname is Bastard Thieves. Could be applicable to many in the profession.
  3. Depends where you measure from.
  4. You mean it might not be some nasty johnny foreigner child snatching paedophile? It must be wrong, cos we all know that any justice system outside this country is corrupt and worthless.
  5. Looks more like David Bowie, circa '73 to me.
  6. In no particular order- Sons and Daughters The Young Doctors Scooby Doo

  8. You're right, of course, I am one of those 'childless folks'. It does feel so very different from this side. What happened to me, I used to quite like kids. Perhaps, I'm heading to middle age, a life of endlessly complaining about any niggling thing. Oh well.
  9. I try to be as tolerant as possible, but some of those buggies are becoming the equivalent of a chelsea tractor. And some of the kids look suspiciously old to be wheeled around. And don't get me started about the creche/pub Sunday afternoons at the Herne Tavern. What with the customers bringing half a truck load of Sunday supplements, their ever so lovely children, buggies*, I have felt rather besieged, as well as having a sore throat from having to scream at my friends to be heard. I need a sit down. I am really a tolerant person, I am, I think. *see note above
  10. It's a golf course? My parents told me it is where they take all the naughty school children, never to return.
  11. Is it me, or do those who believe in alternative therapies always seem to have sort of ailment going on? Colds, rashes, the pox, you name it, they've had it and swear they have the answer to treat it. Ah, rub this stone on it, pop this rather large pill, chant that.

  13. The endless stoking up of our fears must have a lot to do with way that crime is reported in the papers and on tv. In 2005-2006, there were 56 gun-related murders in Britain. Ask most people and I'm sure they wouldn't guess so low.

    No. 40

Just rescued a rather tatty G2 section from the No. 40, heading southbound. Don't worry, I will recycle.

    Paris

Paris to be Celebrity Big Brother? Keep me posted. By the way did anybody see her emerging from Iceland on Barry Road a couple of weeks ago?
  17. When they bang on about congestion charges and parking fines. They seem immune to the hassles that public transport users have to suffer. (Have a feeling that many may disagree)

I was wondering if that paper is still doing the journey. Any reports?
  19. I'm very happy to see these people, highlighting the issue of climate change by taking time out of their busy schedules, will spend a week shouting through the barbedwire of the perimiter fence of Heathrow. I hope that the passengers, departing to warmer climes, will feel suitably chastised. Though I don't think there's much chance of hearing the protesting voices over the jet engines. Power to the people.
  20. Was just wondering if this happened? Sounds like a good idea.
  21. Many years ago, I saw Pete Postlethwaite in Woolworth's in Rye Lane.
