  2. Brian Paddick is a sweetie, but that's not gooing to make me vote for him. That the Tories have plumped for Boris shows they do not have a credible opponant. It has to be Ken. The Dispatches programme was an extremely biased attempt to attach blame on him, which in a lot of cases was hardly earth shattering stuff. The presenter's "shock" at seeing Ken have a drink at a public meeting for instance.
  3. 2 ginger nuts and 2 fruit shortcake biscuits and cup of tea
  4. Yum, haven't had curry and chips since Uni. For the first term I lived off it. One portion a day and pretty much nothing else. Lost about two stone. Not exactly a balanced diet, but if the emaciated look is where you're at, it worked for me.
  5. Sorry if I get on my little high horse and winge for a moment, one of the reasons the junction is a problem for the right hand lane, is that when the lights change, cars coming the other way speed up to try and get over, even after they have turned red. A few cameras wouldn't go a miss. Huffy fit over.
  6. 1 went to Aske's, as well as my Sister, though my Mum spent months going to and calling the school before we finally got places. I was on the bus home a few weeks ago and in front of me was a chap disucssing how he is going to get his child in to the school of his choice. He seemed willing to do anything and his schemes were getting more and more extravagent and wilder. It's a long time since I was at school and it seemed then that perseverence, even after the first term started. Having said that, my mediocre O and A levels don't really attest to the reputation the school has.
  7. To think, at one point that he was thinking about living in Dulwich. Shudders
  8. Never really enjoyed coffee, but I was addicted to diet coke. I used to drink it for breakfast and then all day. Normally to get over a hangover or to wake me up. It was a real shock to the system and felt so tired by the afternoon. It doesn't last long. I try to get 7 hours sleep a night and try not to drink to excess, so that I don't have that groggy feeling in the morning where you feel you need to wake yourself out of. I know that in my office, if the coffee runs out, particularly in the morning, the shock and worry on people's faces is a picture.
  9. Nosing into other people's windows
  10. I joined as I'd had a few (well 3) requests to join from 2 friends and errr.. my sister. When I logged on, my friend had a picture of a man doing something unmentionable to his arse and I quickly decided I didn't need my little sis knowing what sort of friends I have and removed my account.

  12. I hope my don't say much about me, except that I don't deal with stress well. They usually involve me being attacked by some animal or another, followed by me screaming the building down like a mad banshee. No idea what the neighbours are thinking.

  18. I only went once, the service was not very good, they bought us a different bottle of wine than the one we ordered and it had no atmosphere. It feels like a convenience store that's had all its shelves ripped out and a few sofas plonked here and there. I will not miss it. If they are inept enough not to be able to sort their problems, I don't have much sympathy. Well maybe a little bit. A bit of imagination and solid customer care wouldn't go a miss. It's not as though they haven't been doing it for a while. Hannah's was also terrible. What was that ingredient in the pasta I had, bovril, gravy granules, hp sauce? Not sure, but it tasted foul.
  19. It may be a developmental stage, or could be that the kids are bored of having to sit in a pub or restaurant, while their parents soak up the ambience. I can remember having to sit in the EDT during the school holidays, while my Nan enjoyed a half a guinness. To me, it seems that too many people are trying to foist adult experiences on to children, who will of course make their feelings known.
  20. Lloyds have recently changed their bank charges. If you go overdrawn, you pay ?10 per day up to a maximum of 15 days. Not one to read bank letters, I did not pay attention to this change in policy. I realised a few days after I had gone overdrawn, but I'm afraid I ignored it. When I got my next statement, they informed me that I had ?150 bank charges for going overdrawn ?30. I have complained and I know I'm stupid for not paying attention, but THIEVING SCUM just about sums it up. They will not do anything until this court case is resolved.
  21. I love the Gallery, though I tend to avoid the cafe as it is usually chocker with very young and noisy art lovers.
  22. One that makes me shudder is 'I don't wish to be rude but...' which is rarely followed by anything but vitriol. Oh and 'yawn' as used on internet forums.
  23. If you leave it on the kerb, Santa's little helpers will whisk them away. So I've heard.
  24. It did seem sadly inevitable that she would be killed at some point. It still feels so shocking and I'm sort of lost for words.
  25. I gave up smoking and decided I wanted to start again. Happy days.
