I don't find using faggot offensive in this context, but I could see that it could be used in other contexts and offend many people. I use it all the time, but there is not much that offends me, but I was nearly punched once by somebody who really angry at me using it. It is not an issue of free speech, there are plenty of expressions that are not broadcast, battyman, cripple, n**ger are just a few. The idea that people should be just allowed to say what they want and somehow they will be shown up for their stupidity would not just work, well except for Jim Davidson perhaps. The media seem obsessed with the idea of political correctness, as though it is some social movement dictating that you and I can do is ridiculous.

Sorry. I'm always saying it, without really meaning it most of the time. Laters. wee wee. I try to say piss, but the words are too embedded.

Just because it's Christmas, I can't see any reason to tip a bin man. Their crap service has basically put pay to most people bothering. What really bugs me, if I can rant for a momo, is why the bloody hell can't bin men collect during 9 to 5 instead of 6am in the morning, especially if it is a contracted service.

Announcement about the Goose Green fence
cdonline replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
One of the things that I have noticed at Peckham Rye is that less dog walkers now use the bottom of the park and do not let their dogs of the leads, I presume because of the road. I can understand that the fence provides some safety for children, but at the same time some of those with dogs seem oblivious to others by letting their dogs run about and foul. I would personally (as somebody without kids) have an area that was not covered in dog shit and dogs running around. I think it would change people's attitude the Green as a public area for all the community to enjoy. -
Announcement about the Goose Green fence
cdonline replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Wouldn't it be easier if they completely remove the fence, as they did at the bottom of Peckham Rye? In that case, the fences seemed to indicate that this was an area for dogs to do their business rather than a place for people to enjoy. -
With so much cat-napping and gangs of concerned residents hitting the streets to protect our moggies, is East Dulwich on a downward spiral of lawlessness and anarchy?

Is Gethin really dating that drag queen? It takes all sorts, I s'pose. I really loved that tango on Saturday, it seemed to me the only one that really got the heart of the dance. It has to be Alesha to win, she has been so good throughout the series. Go girl!

Christmas cards - to send or not to send?
cdonline replied to ChavWivaLawDegree's topic in The Lounge
I think it is better not to send cards than sending an e-card. It's enough to seriously think if I want them as a friend. Spamming under the guise of sending Christmas Greetings is a real no no in my (tiny) mind. -
I quite liked Same Difference. Watching a woman that could out-camp most Gay men was a sort of pleasure. Not sure there was any jiggy jiggy going on, it doesn't really bare thinging about. Rhydian was a bit of a freak, but at least had some prescence, in a sort of sub-Liberace meets Evangelist Preacher way. Leon just seemed malnourished. Surely, there is something the make-up crew could have done with those shadows under his eyes.

She's Welsh, but she ain't no opera singer. Can't remember the lips, though when I saw her last, I'm glad to see that she's enjoying her food.

I was just thinking the same. I wonder if TFL took into account the vomit factor when they introduced new buses. The Routemaster offered easy escape and good ventilation. I have myself jumped from a moving 12 to be sick on Peckham High Street. Apart from bouncing up on down on a bendy bus, you're sealed in, no where to go. It's a disaster waiting to happen. You can't even realistically try a window. What can you expect?
-
You should have asked the driver for a ticket, you shouldn't have to pay twice. I have to admit that I was very sick, projectile, all over the place, very messy on the morning bus into Manchester. I just couldn't stop. There really wasn't anything I could have done, but get up and walk of the bus.

Now that you can listen online, I tend not to listen when the programmes are on live. And then it is a mixture of Radio 3 and 4, which I have in the background when I'm online.

Never really been in to gigs, prefer concerts, with my own seat that I can sit down on. But my first was Wham! I hated it. My second was The La's in Manchester, when I was a student.

Rather that, than leaving shirts untucked. I'm talking the long sleeved variety. I have a real problem with it, no logical idea why. Perhaps it's a gay gene thing. I used to know somebody who tucked his in, so that it wouldn't come out at the back. Remember John Forsythe from Dynasty, a secret underpant tucker-iner.

I went to their branch in Victoria, they seemed very helpful. My days of buying expensive glasses finally came crashing to an end, so my credit cards told me. I did venutre into the Peckham branch, their range seemed to have a very limited range and they seemed in no hurry to help. Are they run directly by Specsavers or licensed by them?

My point was what has this to do with the dark eyebrowed one and the Labour Government? And a media that fuels people's fears of identity fraud.
