  1. My friend has just returned from the park resort at camber sands and went to pontins camber sands last year. She said the accommodation (caravans) at the park resort are much better than pontins chalets but she preferred the communal areas at pontins - pool and play areas as well as the range of activities (if you want organised activities). Also pontins is located by the sandy beach and the park resort by a pebbly beach.
  2. I would love to know of activities that are going on during the summer holidays too for a two year old. All holiday activities seem based at school age children and with all my daughters term time groups not running the summer holidays will seem so long.
  3. Try Kuki hair on bellendan Rd open late a few evenings and are really good.
  4. Big fan of the vegetarian restaurant Terre a Terre, even though not vegetarian myself found the food very tasty.
  5. Cheltenham - they are the same nct courses - the ones in herne hill. I have been reserved a place on the July one and need to decide whether to do it, think I will go ahead as they cover vbac which I'm hoping for :)
  6. I moved to east dulwich three weeks before my daughter was born - if you can afford it definitely pay someone to do the packing. Is your partner organised can he take cate of it all - dealing with removal company etc... I was lucky my partner did all that and he packed me off to a hotel for the day on the actual move date :)
  7. Hi Cheltenham, was too wondering about the nct refresher classes. My friend just did one over in Clapham but did it to meet people as just moved to the area forgot to ask her if any good - all she mentioned was them sharing horrible birth stories !!!! So would any one recommend I did contact nct and is one running in July so if I decide to go ahead should book on.
  8. And welcome helbel, my first will also be 2 when the new baby arrives in september.
  9. Here are the details for jags - looks as if they do yoga as well on a thursday night. http://www.jagssportsclub.co.uk/aerobics.asp
  10. Love the sound of legs bums and pregnant tums - do you know how much they charge?
  11. The dulwich therapy rooms above the health shop on lordship lane does antenatal yoga and pilates, but not cheap. Picked up a leaflet last week. Pilates are on Wednesday at either 16.15-17.15 or 17.30-18.30, says the cost is ?12 per class or ?40 for 4 classes if you pre-pay. The yoga is on a Thursday at 18.00 and cost ?12.50 or ?66 for 6 classes. To book you need to contact the instructor direct for pilates it!s luisa tel: 07816 430383 and for the yoga classes it's lindi tel: 07957 718 637 I think push studios might do some as well but don't have the details. Wednesday and Thursday's are no good for me as these are the two nights of the week my other half plays football and need someone to look after Lola. I can do the ones at the leisure centre during the day if I can get lola settled into the creche - but she is being really clingy at the moment :( You are allowed reasonable time off work for ante-natal yoga/pilates, when I was working before I found a class locally in borough near where I worked and was allowed to finish work early.
  12. I follow the Albrighton on facebook and they say this is running today:)
  13. Hello, can I join you on Wednesday happy to meet wherever :)
  14. Hi congratulations. I'm with DMC crystal palace road and registered my pregnancy with them at six weeks but as the Lanes midwives are so popular I didn't manage to get one and am now on the waiting list :( in the meantime I have a kings midwife have had one appointment with and she was lovely but did forget half the stuff she was supposed to bring and said she would put it in the post - but still I've yet to receive it.
  15. We have been invited to a kids free wedding next month, we were on the verge of declining the invite. The wedding is on a Sunday win Berkshire, we have no family near by who we can leave our 21 month old with, there are a couple of friends she would probably be ok staying with but both those have to go to work on the Monday so not possible and no nanny we could bring with us. In the end the bride to be turned round and said we could bring our daughter as she would rather we were there to celebrate her big day than not at all. She will be one of two children allowed, saying that will remover her from ceremony and speeches if all she wants to do is run around.
  16. Sorry to hijack the post, i'm also expecting my 2nd in September and will be needing a double buggy but will be travelling a lot on public transport as don't drive. What do people recommend?
  17. Norfolkvillas poor you, hopefully now you're in your 2nd trimester you will begin to feel better soon. I was so tired in the first trimester, running around after my little toddler (will be 2yrs 3months when new baby is due) all the time. I just had to nap when she did in the afternoon, the house was a pigsty but had no energy for cleaning. Glad to say now have so much more energy - which is great :)
  18. Hello all, I'm expecting my second due ob 28th September :)
  19. I'm with you sanne panne - I don't think there are any more dangers now than there were back then. I even think it could be safer now, surely the amount of risk assessments the school would gave done in terms of adult ratios, first aiders, locks etc....were these things even done back 30 years ago or when I went on my school trip age 11, 28 years ago?
  20. I would get to the doctors, just to check it isn't a fungal nappy rash as if it is you will need to be prescribed an anti fungal cream.
  21. Doesn't bea's music bop carry on during the holidays - usually does. ?5 drop-in various locations.
  22. When I looked into this last year I couldn't believe the cost - you could go and stay in a nice country hotel for the same price!
  23. I live at the top end of Underhill Rd near belvoir road, with a 20month old. I think this end of the road isn't really in the catchment area for any school - just outside fairlawn and horniman I'm led to believe.
  24. Good thread about this last year http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,746563,783393#msg-783393
  25. When my daughter was that age we loved going to stay and play at the Albrighton community centre. A free group on a Monday afternoon from 1.30-3pm, the other mums and dads were always fiendly. It was set up with soft mats, a small ball pit and other toys so great for that age and no big kids running around as is only for up to 18months.
