  1. You can have skin prick tests before the age of 2, my son was supposed to have them in march for allergy related eczema but his skin was too bad. He is now having them in June and will be 8 months old, this is at tommies. He has already had some blood tests to test for most common allergies.
  2. second magic moments creche, a great introduction to nursery.
  3. Would the water at myatt fields be on yet, does anyone know?
  4. Same here spoke to sue today and was told over the phone we had a place and to expect letters in the next couple of weeks.
  5. I had my first at tommies in 2010 and 2nd one at kings last autumn. I ummed and arhed over whether to go back to tommies or go with kings for the 2nd birth - wanted as natural as possible vbac and decided that I had more chance of this at kings but high blood pressure towards end of pregnancy meant I would need to be monitored intermittently as soon as my waters broke. I ended up with a pretty bad labour experience due to staff shortages and lack of space on the Labour ward, meaning delivery was nowhere near what I envisaged. If I was to have a 3rd I would be heading to tommies without a second thought, even though that birth ended as a emcs I did try for 36 hrs for a vaginal delivery but failure to process and baby getting distressed ended in surgery. All the care I received at tommies was fantastic. Saying that things may have been different if I had a caseload midwife for 2nd pregnancy but even though with dmc missed out so if you do get a lanes midwife I would think long and had about your choice.
  6. I unfortunately didn't have a great experience at kings for my Labour last September. I developed high blood pressure in the last few weeks and due to a previous section I was advised to go in once my waters broke as would need to be monitored. I was hoping to be a mobile as possible as well. I went in when waters broke but due to the Labour ward being really busy and a shortages of staff I was stuck on triage, was told my fore waters needed breaking which they would do a few hours later. This did not happen until at least 10 hours later so I was stuck with nowhere to be mobile as there is no space in triage, I hardly saw a midwife and did not get the birth I wanted. Once I did get into a Labour room most of the care I received was fantastic. I know the reason I did not get the birth I wanted was due to it being really busy and lack of staff and space. My previous birth had been at st Thomas's and ended in a emcs after 36 hours of Labour and if I was to have a 3rd I would go back to st Thomas's as I found the whole experience so much better. The midwife care I received could not be faulted I knew what was happening every step of the the way and i do think the whole setting of st Thomas's on the river makes for a more relaxing experience, whilst I was in Labour I enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset over the Thames.
  7. Is the one o'clock club on the rye open this afternoon? Opened during the half them break in Feb.
  8. My baby boy was too prescribed the vile pink stuff beginning with F for infected eczema but even though only 20 weeks was having none of it and dribbled it all back out. Went back to the docs and was prescribed erythromycin which is far more pleasant, banana flavour and he is better at taking that.
  9. Magic moments on the lordship lane estate is great, runs four mornings a week from 9:45-12:15. My daughter goes two mornings and loves it.
  10. We've just got internet ready tv and subscribed to Netflix -not too sure on the amount of decent children's films on it but lots of children's tv programmes that keep our little one entertained when needed. Would say is fantastic for box sets for us,we love damages not shown after season 3 on UK tv but available on Netflix and cheaper than buying the dvds. Also can use your Netflix account on up to 6 different devices.
  11. Glad you got it sorted, I go to dmc Chadwick road for audiology appointments again a referral is needed.
  12. Another vote for the little tikes one, as others say not cheap but love the fact it has all the appliances, especially the washing machine as my daughter loves to help me with the washing.
  13. my daughter was 2 years and 3 months when my son came along. I was hoping to get by without a double and we have, my daughter loves the buggy board (lascal on icandy peach) or will go on her scooter if just to local shop or park but it was slow going at first as she wouldn't always stay on but after a couple of months she pretty much will do. if I knew we were going to be out all day I would just wear baby in a sling and my daughter then went in the macclaren. now my baby son is bigger I'm planning to use the seat bit of pushchair which they can share and if daughter wants to sit down I'll just pop baby in sling.
  14. I'm also on the lookout for a good cleaner so would welcome some recommendations too. thanks Jane
  15. the little diy shop on the corner of forest hill rd/dunstans rd (opposite entrance to the park) had some in their window yesterday.
  16. regarding school nurseries, how do the admissions work? do you have to get your name down early or do they work like school admissions and admit on distance?
  17. I too am a stay at home mum of a 2.5month old and a 3 month old and would be keen to meet but Tuesdays and friday mornings no good for me. now my daughter has dropped her nap afternoons work better for us if anyone fancies that. just also wanted to say the one o'clock club is now open on Friday mornings too for those who can meet up on Fridays.
  18. just back from the one o'clock club at the moment stay and play is running on Tuesday and Friday mornings and Thursday afternoons. i think they do hope to do more activities in the future.
  19. I recommend kuki hair salon on bellenden road, I have Pauline cut my hair and after a couple of visits to her I trusted her to completely cut it all off into a Bob. a lot of people also highly recommend shingo at the same salon.
  20. is it open today, does anyone know?
  21. we do little bubbles on a Friday morning, my daughter is also 2.5 and really enjoys it. if you don't want to commit to a class where you have to pay for a whole term, then another favourite is Peckham soft play. also Horniman run their free storytelling or art based activity class (busybees) on a Friday.
  22. no she isn't back until the week beginning 14th Jan :(
  23. Surrey quays city farm or spitalfields city farm both accessible by the east London line, both free. or there is the small battersea park zoo.
  24. I keep meaning to try and join you on one of the meetups, my little boy is now 7 weeks old but with a toddler daughter as well has proved difficult. Wanted to add that the dish and spoon is nt open on a monday either so would be no good, second bread of life cafe not the best of food but cheap and cheerful. And for those wanting to bring toddlers has a few toys and plenty of space. Can't think of any other cafes with the space other than the park cafes.
