Thanks everyone. Kind offer Passiflora but I'd gone out and bought a Radio Times, but thank you anyway.

I don't want to download or print a freebie at home, I want a proper biggun to stick up on the wall. Where can I get one locally please wise ED forumites?

Southwark Council, like all the others, is absolutely strapped for cash. I'd be all in favour of having speeding fines on Barry Road and don't understand why automatic fines aren't doled out more often. Is the registration number recognition equipment really expensive or something? I've had a few fines for straying into the occasional yellow junction box or bus lane in Camberwell/Crystal Palace/Old Kent Road etc.

Such a useful thread. Wish I could store it somehow for future reference! I've put my name here to make it easier to search.

Bellenden Road gridlock - bridge replacement

My husband sent a text from Peckham at 17.52 to say the traffic is a nightmare. He's still not home at 19.15! -
(verbal) Assault just now in Peckham Rye Park
tomskip replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yikes at that homophobic op. Hopefully your wife will be able to get over the trauma of being verbally abused while dog walking in the park, but the possible sexuality of the person(s) who abused her isn't really worth a mention here. If you are arguing that other people might recognise them and report them, how likely is that to happen? "Hello, is that 101? I've just seen a couple who appear to be gay walking their dog in Peckham Rye Park. And I'm reporting them because someone posted on our local forum about a gay couple who verbally abused his wife a few days ago and I just thought I could give you a call and ... " -
Nice tribute to Badgers there, Burbage. We'll also be sad to see them go. There were some cold winter days when the lure of a sausage roll was just too much to resist.

6th Form Recommendations
tomskip replied to northlondonergonesou's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My daughter is loving her time at Sydenham & Forest Hill Sixth Form. I'm not sure a lot of people will be able to help you op as few of us have experience of more than one Sixth Form to be able to compare/contrast. -
There is fly tipping all over East Dulwich. If we had a new thread about every incidence of fly tipping we'd be here all night.

Temporary PA to the owner of a classic car auctioneers in Clapham. I just couldn't stick the man. He had been looking for a PA for ages and been through loads of temps. When he offered me the job on a permanent basis, with a flourish and a self satisfied look on his face, it gave me enormous pleasure to turn it down.

Apparently a new vegan junk food delivery is coming to ED
tomskip replied to wayne10's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
No, I'm not talking about resources. I don't worry too much about my intake of meat and dairy as I'm sure it's way below average for a westerner. And what I do eat is free range or organic. But I do worry about eating highly mucked about with manufactured food that spends much of it's life in a lab such as, I suspect, vegan "bacon" and vegan "cheese". -
When and where? Cities, towns, villages, gites, chateaux, Eurostar, ferry, campsites, caravans, air b n b, any and all memories/recommendations are very warmly welcomed. Merci!

tomskip replied to wayne10's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Don't you vegans worry about the enormous amount of food processing that goes in to manufacturing something called vegan "cheese" and vegan "bacon". -
Sidmouth in Devon is a really lovely seaside town. Can't recommend it enough.

How old is your son? Should they have charged him ?14.00? I had similar with my daughter at Village Way, East Dulwich. I spoke to them on the phone beforehand because I wanted to make sure I sent her in with enough cash. They then asked her for more money than they'd told me on the phone. She had some extra in her purse and gave it to them as she wasn't confident enough to challenge them. Shan't be booking any more appointments for her there again! lesson learned.

(Getting) an Appointment at the Gardens Surgery
tomskip replied to wee quinnie's topic in The Lounge
I think they're not too bad as GP surgeries go in general. I'm not sure what time their phone lines open (it's either 8am or 8.30am) but if you ring and redial if they are engaged at that time then you'll generally get an appointment the same day. Not easy for people trying to get ready for work or kids ready for school but hey! -
Car written off on Upland Road last night
tomskip replied to tomskip's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes, I will report to the police. -
Hi Forum, Just posting on the remotest off chance anyone saw or heard the smash that resulted in my parked car being written off last night. It was at about 11.20pm, outside no. 314 Upland Road. Heard a vehicle driving hard and fast up the hill, then heard a bang, went outside and my poor old much-loved Citroen has been completely scraped along one side, rear bumper completely off, wing mirror on the road. Later on, maybe it was just my imagination, I could have sworn I heard joy riding type noises a bit further south in the area - maybe on Lordship Lane or Dunstans, Overhill, Mount Adon Park kind of area? Did anyone else? Needless to say please contact me if you can add anything to this sorry tale. I have a feeling I've read about other cars in SE22 being mindlessly smashed into overnight in the past couple of weeks. Perhaps someone is doing it for laughs? Speaking to my insurers this morning they more or less told me not to bother reporting to the police!

How many dogs do the Malones have and more to the point how many dogs do the family with the son with Tourettes have? I hope we have lost the two blokes with the naked female torso on the wall behind them (they were dull) and the very posh family with two daughters (ditto). I'm not at all interested in what the young sister and brother have to say. Still love the Siddiquis and Giles & M of course.

I've been chuckling to myself for days over Giles: Nutty, do you remember that Vietnamese place we ate at in Chelsea and it was called ... Mary: Stop it Nutty! Giles: the P h a t P h Mary: DON'T SAY IT! Giles: u c Mary: (rolls eyes and tuts) I have a very low sense of humour though. Lots of new families on this series, I'm trying to work out who we've lost.

If it really is still in good condition and not worn or faded then charity shops will take it. If it's too worn for you to want to keep then consider it good for recycling only. Animal charities will take towels but I'm not sure white sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are useful to them itatm? If they do then I have some old stuff to pass on.

In a debate about women's rights why do we always have to remember the men? -

Well said, Sweary. As I said up thread, this is a really significant issue that not enough people have given serious thought to. I have signed all the petitions and read around the subject as much as I can. I am very worried. It is NOT just about predatory men "disguising" themselves as women and getting in to the female changing rooms for a few pervy moments of pleasure. -

I think the majority would still much prefer to have single sex toilets and changing rooms. Just as they prefer to have single sex hospital wards.
