I can't believe it ! No-one has mentioned how these huge blue, green brown bins have ruined the landscape of ED - just walk around and look at the hideousness of them all crammed in front gardens and onto pavements. All well and good recycling but this is so over the top - lets take them back to the town hall! pandg

Recommendations for kitchen extension & landscaped garden

We are having to replace our victorian pine floor - have found some reclaimed boards but still not sure - as they are quite expensive and will then have to be laid, sanded and treated - has anyone used new pine and successfully tried to age it? We have been advised to try this but now have limited time as the building contractors, who are brilliant, are ahead of schedule and need us to decide asap - any suggestions please?

Sickened by the amount of dog poo in the streets of ED
PandG replied to Frankito's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Jennings Road action group against dog pooh continues its close monitoring, as it's an underground group we cannot divulge details of the actions we are and continue to take! However we can say a big thank you to the dog owners who have respected our signs by taking correct and appropriate actions when their dogs do doo doos! The action group may well alter signage accordingly! Another thought - all the signs that were placed in the road by the action group have, to date, been left untouched! PandG -

"What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich." - we had the same problem in Jennings Road but a small, underground, action group put up some signs and we have all been watching out for some time for offending owners and their dogs - guess what- it seems to have worked - it's just the foxes now it seems! Take action into your own hands! PandG -
We have a problem with some owners allowing dogs to pooh and not clearing up after them in Jennings Rd - the council recently put the bag it and bin it yellow stencils and, naturally, it didn't stop the problem and is probably worse with other dogs leaving their deposits! Foxes are a problem but that can't be stopped - just cleared up. It seems ED is a bad area with dog owners not caring and it seems with no enforcement, this costs and in a time of cut backs we probably have to take action ourselves. Someone has put signs up in our road telling dog owners to clear their mess and warning that people are watching out for them - lets hope that resident action groups may have some effect.

What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich?
PandG replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James - I will have to wait for the snow to clear to see if the stencilling is there but cant we have some signs on some of the lamp-posts advising that it is an offence for dog owners not to clear dogs mess ? I would be happy to put signs up at the junctions of some of the roads near me ! Regards pandg -

We have raised it with our Councillor and the council directly and we still have no signs have been put up and more dog poo dollops on Landcroft and Jennings Road - lets try and organise something - it is so bad now!(yes we get foxes but as TQ says you can tell the difference) - where's SUE when you need action ? P and G -
having moved from Cateford SE6 to ED SE22 recently we are very surprised at the lack of action here to clean up dog poo - it should become a zero tolerance zone - come on the local Dog Owners, Residents & Councillors!!!

What is East Dulwich Missing - Food Wise

Why haven't people gone for a good Italien Pizza in SE22 - that would suit the carnivores and veggies! -
Re Aircraft noise - thank you for the responses. Please close this matter now! PandG

Dan - thanks for your reply and comments - I must say I was a bit suprised at some of the 'mocking' responses - I thought, beforehand, that the ED forum was for sensible debate - perhaps not!! Best wishes PandG PS - it isn't the one flight path into Heathrow or City airport, naturally this was expected and known about - it's when you get the Heathrow bound plane and 30 seconds later a City airport bound plane flies over at a much lower height - a double dose it seems to us. Cest' la vie - we will continue renting for a while longer and decide if we like ED and its inhabitants!! I might check other topics to see what the ED inteligencia say there!!

We have just moved into SE22 and enjoyed a blissful few days when the planes weren't flying - now we have Heathrow inbound running flights down over our road, Heathrow outbound over the next road up the hill and very low City airport planes flying in over the hosue in the gaps when Heathrow planes are queing further out ! Is it us, is there a problem or not in East Dulwich with plane noise? P and G
