  1. look at www.dubdubandaway.com/ not sure if their VW campers are ready but they may help you! Mine new baby is being refurbished in west Wales at present but, sadly for you, wont be available for hire as I will be off innit!!
  2. Sorry AlecJohnMoore - what was your "hence my comment on their FB site" then? Isn't this more about getting a good veggie set up at a good, or what could be a good, eating venue in ED - lets keep the posts to that and not about cycling!
  3. If you all pledge you will get update emails with a lot more information from the Patch on Kickstarter - lets keep ED up there!!
  4. As BNG (welcome!) has said all the info on the Patch plans is on Kickstarter in writing and on the video Sue and Andy - you pledge money for the ?17k that is going to be community food grown at the back of the pub - the lease of the pub will be owned, it seems, by Arnold and his team who have all the money in place to buy the lease they said, which they hope to sign this week. Also it says that if you pledge money towards this ?17k it will only be taken up once they hit their target and proceed - I suggest those of you in ED that want to support local business (William Rose are in this it seems too)and a boost to the Mag - which is long overdue and a brilliant venue - pledge! 5. So If you want 80's disco music and a fruit Machine get on with it!
  6. Sue read the information the 'Patch' people have published, the community are being asked to support the veggies they are hoping to grow on site using hydroponics- they say they have all the funding for the pub lease itself - it's not another Ivy House! Maybe Ryedelema, post above, has the right idea - lets see what happens!
  7. If you read the details the money is only taken once they reach their targets - we must support ED businesses! On Facebook and www.kickstarter.com and for those twitterers they are now publicising the situation and I quote:- "Dear all, We have been very busy here at the Patch, and a bit slow in updating all our friends on what we are up to. So here it goes...We are looking to sign our lease over the next 7 days, which will allow us to open sometime in April (pending legal formalities). However, we will close for a couple of weeks after that for refurbishments etc... Regarding food, please stay tuned!!!! We have a very exciting announcement to make in the next few days. Thanks, everyone!!!"
  8. Not sure what's going to happen - no fanfares no publicity but a hand written note says it's re-opening on Monday 25th - doubt it's the patch people though. It seems from another notice in the window that Enterprise Inns plc/Unique Pub Properties Ltd re-possessed the Mag on the 18th March.
  9. Well done Cora & Miss Wiggy - we should all support anything that enhances ED and local businesses - even if 'Arnold' is trying to put a proposal together lets support him and or the 'Brewery' that may have taken the pub back. It will be better than having another closed commercial property on Lordship Lane. Sue - Doubt Steve was informed of future plans or taken into anyones confidence on the Mag's future!!
  10. You've posed the question John K let's see what they say!
  11. As Miss Wiggy says there is a lot of info at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/362893753/londons-first-100-self-sustaining-gastropub see her link above and a video that says they have funding for the building - reckon its William Rose and Moxons etc with some other financiers - sounds like its a first for ED & we should support it! Maybe they are going to make a big public announcement website etc - but let's support local enterprise it's good for everyone here!! P and G
  12. This sounds such a brilliant idea - lets hope 'The Patch' people add more information here so that ED residents can support this exciting proposal- was it 'Moxons' men in the video?
  13. We need Kerri Moss Masterchef champion winner, lives in Nunhead ?, to open up the Mag's kitchen - that would be Champion!!
  14. Contact arma.org.uk for info on agents who look after smaller buildings and lease-advice.org.uk for info and help on managing your building. best of luck
  15. We used them last year - they couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and offered good sound advice on products and finishes - the fitting went like a dream - a smiling friendly customer may help!
  16. try Henryk - he just sorted our bathroom/shower out and lives locally in Lewisham - he was recommended to us by Olby's plumbers merchants in Lewisham ! 07974 102008.
  17. When are we due compensation for no power- any solicitors or barristers out there ?
  18. Rubbish power net or whoever they are - now missing Downtown. But lamb chops, mashed potatoes, cabbage & gravy on the hob under candlelight very very lovely- where is my electric its 2012 &off for o ed 3 hours ?
  19. We have just used Carl Ferri again to paint the exterior of our house and the bathroom - not properly painted by the builders last year - and he has done a fabulous job for us! His website is www.cferri.co.uk mobile number is 07930 316291 and email [email protected]
  20. We had two Box (Buxus ball shape)) plants dug out of our front garden planter & another box in a pot on the wall with our neighbours stolen last night from Jennings Rd - there are so many men and vans touring around watching plus taking from skips etc that I don't think we have any chance of garden success on our frontage. Reported to the police first thing, just so they know! Sad!
  21. Speak to Antonia Schofield - she is a garden designer and lived in ED - 07870 192 397 - we used her for our rear garden redesign and she was v good!
  22. I can't believe it ! No-one has is taking seriously how these huge blue, green brown bins have ruined the landscape of ED - just walk around and look at the hideousness of them all crammed in front gardens and onto pavements. All well and good recycling but this is so over the top - lets take them back to the town hall!
