  1. Background to this story: guy lives with sister for 6 months to save up cash. He hires 10 rooms in the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead, Gerogia. In each room are friends who read out letters each based around a quality i.e. friendship/love etc... and every room is themed. This is quite a long series of slides (5 minutes long) http://www.photosbyknight.com/gray/ And they say romance is dead.
  2. Exactly. Imagine how many more articles ED would get too (like that high street on BBC This Morning that banned the use of plastic bags) surely this would be a positive result for house prices?
  3. It's a difficult area and morality is so subjective that there are no absolutes. I do feel that over time the science will be the key to this i.e. freezing fertility until required (more easily than today's pill) and perhaps evidence of sentience of the foetus. I'm not sure about you, but I would think that would tip the scales against. CWALD - would you believe it justified to terminate if the foetus would deemed sentient?
  4. But hang on. We know smoking is bad for us so the government eventually took action. It is now taking action aganst parents with obese children because they will 'cost' us more in health bills and other drains on the social system. Now, why should this be any different? Surely irresponsbile meat eaters are being subsidised (NHS wise) by vegetarians and vegans? Does the government not owe a duty ensure public health is a priority? There should be a tax on meat for the ill effects it has and also because it's not environmentally friendly. Do you know how much methane a cow produces? All that foodstuff is inefficient. The sooner we all become vegans the lower the tax bill and the better our consciences.
  5. How can you say that? You can't see if he managed to co-ordinate his trousers/shorts and shoes.
  6. What a great idea. Let's all campaign to make LL an alcohol free zone.
  7. M.I.T.E - Meat is The Enemy
  8. I'd got to Le Chandelier and buy a club sandwich and an espresso - then... I'd probably have blown the lot.
  9. That article was very funny but still misses the point. Leave her alone and she will go away.
  10. So who among us will forsake this carcinogenic rotten flesh? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7069914.stm
  11. Jah Lush agreed. Nero - my thoughts exactly. I do think we can be so callous at times. Leave her alone. She will go away and none of us have to hear about her.
  12. In fairness it was a very testing time for everybody. I was using the tube quite a lot then and was very nervous whenever I had to get on to a packed carriage. In saying that it does look like a knee jerk reaction by the Met. Remember when we were told that armed police would be on the tube and we (maybe not all) were supportive of this under such extreme circumstances? I'm not defending the Met but trying to put their case across. If the orders from the top were the wrong ones then he should of course resign. Edited for typos.
  13. Surely it would be non-violent.
  14. We were talking about this at lunch today. I was trying to play devil's advocate but it came across quite claerly that she is a loathed woman. I avoid the red tops so don't actually know much but was only interested due to her 'breakdown' on TV. She's not the most likeable character but she did make some valid points re intrusion and her little girl.
  15. No I couldn't read all the sign either - had to keep my eyes on the road :-S
  16. Wow, he must have been so impressed that he had to recommend the, 4 times. That's it I'm passing through on the way home. Incidientally most people think it is called Chandiri on account of the funny jont up writing used in the sign.
  17. Maybe nothing. Perhaps she's not a nice person? or maybe he used to abuse her mentally or physically, but you never know...
  18. Indeed. Blunt would have been a more apt moniker.
  19. Sorry but this post sounds a touch partial wouldn't you say?
  20. Goodness. i'm sure it's worth the novelty value of a visit.
  21. I thought the Brixtonian had closed down? They did have good cocktails.
  22. MP - Yes Florence is a good vantage point but the trees will probably obscure. You could always go in the back garden and look upwards?
