  1. For me - a passing traveller on the way home - it has become another reason why it takes me an extra 10-15 minutes to get home on what should be a 20 minute drive (tops). It's as unenvironmentlaly friendly as the rest of these measures which bottleneck traffic on linear roads. And no I'm not anti - green just realistic.
  2. Out of interest, what's the difference between fillies and Mares?
  3. Like we say in Texas, "Let's smoke us some bad guys".
  4. I've not read her stuff yet but her most recent book The Cleft is on my Xmas wishlist. http://books.guardian.co.uk/reviews/generalfiction/0,,1984239,00.html It's a world first populated by women. Men are a genetic anomaly that appear in increasing numbers and so they things with their 'dangly bits' are banished to the edges of 'civilisation'.
  5. Going to see a relative born there about 20 years ago - it was a dump. I was very young but amazed that they could bring people there to give birth. Shame as the architecture is/was amazing.
  6. I'm in agreement with MP, those with low self-esteem do tend to gravitate to the 'wrong sorts'. Also, where people don't find themselves being satisfied between the sheets they sometimes have to examine whether they are doing enough to keep the other party engaged.
  7. The competition is going to be a bit much for these past Dulwich denizens I'm afraid: founder of Harvard, loveable and perenial underdog of a British boxing champion, co-founder of the National Trust. Perhaps Ida might get one but I doubt it.

It's a class and money thing. Agreed, but discipline and stable family home life are perhaps more important.
  9. Asset - I stand corrected (*takes a low and gracious bow*)

I heard recently Tesco may buy him out - we > can't let this happen!! Buy him out! To put a tesco on the opposite side of the road?
  11. I think the issue is that cat poo if it gets in the eye - esp. the eyes of kiddies - gives rise to myxamatosis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myxomatosis This can cause blindness.
  12. I think it's a bit of overreaction to a not huge problem. By the way i too have a garden that some cats consider to be a large municipal latrine. Put some fresh pepper down and the cat won't put its behind down nor return to your garden for a while.
  13. Yeah i know Graham the owner. That place is a legend. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Brendan - I've been thinking the same thing myself. Hopefully will have an update in the next few months.
  14. It's ok - that's where I pick up my usuals from but I am talking about some nice Belgian and German beers i.e not Leffe, Hoogaarden or Erdinger. Other areas have such places (Wimbledon, Richmond, Clapham, Borough) , I would have thought ED would have one by now.
  15. Yeah, but it was ok I was wearing my nappy. Is it me or does ED lack a place to get a wide selection of ale? I know you can get odds and sods from Oddbins/Threshers/Green & Blue, but how about something a bit more comprehensive?

Keeping on topic: Are the Community Support officers patrolling this patch more often since the incident?
  17. Market Porter is great for their guest ales. The best place round here for a decent guest ale is Hoopers. I had a bersalis Beligian Beer last night 9.5% - I slept like a baby...

Not sure if it's still available. Gales are now owned by Fullers - had a Seafarers Ale on cask recently - it was ok. don't think they do the pale ale anymore. You can get a few of the rare beers mentioned here from Borough Market - but I think ED could do with one.
  19. Not had the Dead Dog Fish - from memory but the US hoppy beers can be nice when they're not too OTT. Anchor Steam beer, Sierra Nevada and Three Floyds are the best ones I've tried. Doing my usual going against the grain thing, I prefer most beers, in particular English bitters, to be just below room temperature. i.e. chill for 10 minutes. After all this beer talk i'm going to get get a nice Belgian beer out of the fridge :)
  20. "I was amused/bemused to read Southwark tops the list in terms of caseload when it comes to benefit claimants." why?
  21. Not a fan of the Grolsch but the wheat version is quite tasty.

  23. Something tells me someone on here will compelte that sentence for you...
