There are so many things wrong with what you've said in your diatribe that I don't know where to start. I am assuming you've had a stressful day at work. There was no call for the tone or putdowns in your post. For your information many people would put your profession far lower in the popularity stakes the estate agents.
  2. I think you'll find the actual statistic is that 50% of them are false.
  3. Hi Henny Penny - you are mostly certainly welcome. Yes I thought Foxton's strategy was interesting too - the wider Dulwich area being lumped as one - the success of which I suppose only time will tell.
  4. Apparently during our lifetimes we each eat 8 spiders. So there is 11% chance you'll eat one this year.
  5. Prepare to be lounged.
  6. You may find you price yourself out of the market. There's a lot of competition out there...
  7. "Inspector Sams" is the code on the underground.
  8. How about an "I Love New York" design?
  9. Kennington is quite nice. I pass through there all the time. Astronomical house prices though so you may have to downsize. Also consider Borough lots going on and that south bank buzz.
  10. I've got nothing against spiders, some of my favourite invertebrates are arachnids. It's just that I don;t want them round here.
  11. The fact that TJ is not a resident of her constituency reduces her credibility in my eyes. How can she know first hand the issues that residents of Dulwich and West Norwood face? The commute to work, the state of schools, crime, facilites and all the rest. She may as well live in Aberdeen. I did have a query which she arranged to be answered but that's her job so no slavish gratitude from me. Without trying to pin my colours to the mast I certainly won't be voting for her.
  12. That's the one. I'm not great with creepy crawlies so hoping to see those spiders!
  13. What with all the estate agent bashing that goes on here, whether deserved or undeserved. It would be good to hear from those at the receiving end of it. Are there any estate agents who log on to EDF? and if so what do think of the criticisms raised - parking, saturation, etc.. - do you agree or disagree? If you work in ED do you actually live here?
  14. Not one of those but a horried looking green disc like thing with 8 legs. Looked a bit like a tropical leaf cutter and we haven't even had a warm decent summer...

    Help!

Louisa if it is only three years old it should still be within the warranty period. Check with the after care service of the dealer you bought it from or if second hand a local ford dealership - there's one in Tulse Hill that springs to mind: Brownes of London 349-351 Norwood Road Brixton SE27 9BQ Phone 0208 674 3377 Fax 0208 671 9705 Aleternatively check the Ford dealer locator below for dealers in Derby who may be able to help. http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/-/-/-/dealerlocator/-/-/-/
  16. Very good. Just wish you added which beers they actually sell. It is so hard to get a decent drink down these sides.

TRUE FACT. Shaw Heath, > Stockport, 1940s or 50s. I always wondered why some chips looked so green.
  18. In 2001 and 2002 post 9/11 the US went into recession and in the UK lots of jobs were shed. There were many articles about an impending recession in the UK http://property.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/property/article1171221.ece but it didn't transpire. Again in 2004 thru 2006 doom mongers have continually called the peak of the economic cycle. We are now told there are new factors - the BRIC countries - high commodity prices and greater competition for resources. Whether that plays out or not it is apparent the the big banks are making deep cuts as profits have fallen away or reduced. Now it seems Deutchse will be making a gloomy announcement tomorrow. So yes there are some key industries shedding jobs, it is telling that these losses are in the countries largest net contributor to GNP.
  19. Are all these anti-Olley stories really true? As they are putting me right off.
  20. Not really. I think people have been predicting a recession for the past 7-8 years now but so far it's not managed it. It can happen sometimes: stock markets are ultimately about the herd instinct and human psychology. But profits are profits and losess losses. If folk are being made redundant and they are not finding equivalent work then that will have an economic effect. Now that's it from me on the subject...
  21. or for that matter Sawf, is it a cross between North and South?
  22. Indeed. And a flight to value for money goods and services is entirely subjective. Another quarter or so is needed for some of these events to percolate into the wider economy.
  23. If his eyes are wandering over the melons in Sainsbury's, I'm not too sure he's the one for you CWALD.
