I mentioned that the meal I was eating was NOT cooked by the usual Chef. They replied he was off and indeed it had been cooked by a different chef. So be careful before you make any bets. Could prove expensive. :) Foxy P.S. The food was still very good but different taste .. and a ingredient I get added to my curry was also missing .. -

Well the one Greek Restaurant we did have did not survive but that was an unmentionable chain. I believe there is a long term Greek place in Camberwell if it's still there.? Dont think that is a chain. Foxy -

I do not eat Chicken Tikka Masala although ANY curry requires a lot more skill than making burgers or making Pizzas. D.F. -

I'll tell you Bob.. buy 3 Chicken Madras's / Vindaloos.. tell me 3 restaurants and I'll tell you which one came from where. The Idea of a chain is it will always be the same where ever you go. A McDonalds will be the same which ever branch you go to. Foxy. -

The Real Greek to replace Jaflong?
DulwichFox replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A decent independant Greek Restaurant serving genuine reginal Greek cusine would of been better and NOT another chain (9 Branches) all doing the same food to a laid down (Fail Safe) recipe. Franco Manca... MEATliquor... The Real Greek.. all owned by the same company. All with a very familiar formular. What next.. DulwichFox -

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Easy to cook poppadums in a microwave, Fox. > > Get some from Khans and keep them for future > similar emergencies :) Hi Sue. I've always got Popadoms in the cupboard. I deep fry them in Sunflower oil. 190 deg c and they come out crisp and dry. Just stand upright for 20 seconds. They tend to go hard not crisp in the micromave. Do use Micro wave I'm in a hurry. but they do not swell up like they do when deep Fried. Foxy -
Agree a price and deduct money for every day late he/she is. Foxy.

The problem is that in general where work has been carried out it is shoddy workmanship. It is down to Southwark Council to ensure that any work carried out is completed satisfactorily and inspected before the job is written off. DulwichFox

Funny things that have happened on driving test.
DulwichFox replied to lavender27's topic in The Lounge
I did my test (2nd) back in 1972. BSM The test was at Wansted Flats. My usual car was not available on the day so I had to take the test in an unfamiliar car. When I arrived at the Test Centre it started to rain.. I turned on the wipers and one of them flew into the road. Not a good start.. Wansted flats is ..erh .. flat so my Hill Start was in someones drive-way which was steep. There were 40mph areas and my examiner said I should of been in 4th gear but as I showed to be competent using the other gears he passed me. Foutunately it did not rain during the test.. DulwichFox -
