  1. I'm sure it's just me.. but I generally do not drink alcohol with food (except curry club) When I first started eating curry in Bangladeshi restaurants in Brick Lane none of them sold alcohol. I'm a fan of Jaflong because they operate a BYOB system but I tend to stick to water and go to the pub afterwards. After all, I would generally not be drinking alcohol if I cook at home.. I suppose The Gowlett is a bit of a trudge back home after you have stuffed your face with Pizza. I'm full after 1/2 a 9" thin from Tescos. Foxy

  9. I'm old enough to remember when pubs sold ale and Guiness not super chilled. Nuts and crisps in the evening and maybe a steak & Onon pie at lunch time with Worcester sauce if you were lucky. The chippy was open until midnight after the 'Flicks' turned out. Pie and mash on Peckham Park Road open till 09.00 / 10.00 at night. The chinese that sold pancake rolls.. chips Rice and curry sauce. that was it. There were a few Indian restaurants that did Chicken Curry on the bone and plain rice and chapatis. Kebabs came later. A few Chain Pizza Huts.. Wimpys.. Golden Egg .. up town.. No one complained.. Pub.. Chippie.. home.. sorted. Going to the pub for Pizza.. WTF . DulwichFox.

  17. When the Assistant picked up the ?2 book and said "That's not in the sale, it will be ?2. But you can get another book for free.". Why didn't you just pay the ?2.00 as you expected and ?1.00 each for the other 2. ?4.00 in all. Which you did in the end anyway. Why engage in such a pointless argument about the subject matter. ??? It's a charity shop.. Just give them a Fiver and everyone would be happy and no stress.. Foxy.

Yes it's called Cheese analogue Many if not most Pizza outlets use Analouges. I saw a programme on TV about the scam where people think they are getting real cheese. Cheese Analogues are a lot cheeper to produce. Fine if you are told what you are getting. Foxy

  21. I think the problem is that whilst some retailers (Farmers) have merchandise outside it is in a space not occupying the pavement. Space belonging to the shop. Doesn't Dulwich DIY have stuff on the pavement. ?? Great shop though.. Valuable asset to E.D. DulwichFox

Jaflong is currently still operating from both locations.. Jaflong Tandoori 42 East Dulwich Rd. Jaflong 41 Lordship Lane. Same Menu .. but nice food (Bangaladeshi / Indian ) and good value. BYOB at both places with no corkage charge. DulwichFox

  25. Sue Proofreading a flyer before going to print is no guarantee that the printers will not cock it up. Most people here do not have the time to do the job as you seem to of done. :) Having said that.. you failed to observe Bhaji was spelt incorrectly several times as Bhajee. If you are going to do a job.. ? Foxy
