HELP, what are the rules about driving through Dul' Village
DulwichFox replied to peckhamside's topic in Roads & Transport
I gave up my car in Feb 2019. Things seem so complicated these days. I cannot drive at the moment due to Cataracts and poor eyesight. Parking in my road (Ulverscroft) is now very difficult. Even if I get my eyesight sorted, I do not think I will ever buy another car. Parking and road closures is just too much of a nightmare. I used to drive for pleasure back in the 70's. That is no longer the case. Petrol was around 15p a gallon back then as I remember. Might be wrong. Foxy. -

Another problem with poison is that Pets (cats) can eat the poisoned Mice and also die. Also Foxes can be poisoned by eating the Mice. DulwichFox.

Mice are a Real problem. If there is food around they are Not going to move out or go somewhere else. You can See their droppings but you Cannot see their Pee. Mice are incontinent and Pee continuously.. Their urine is the main cause of infection and disease. Mice are True vermin. They have to be dealt with. Poison is Cruel. Mice die slowly a Painful death from internal bleeding. They end up hidden from view and stink the house out for weeks as they rot, Flies lay eggs and you can end up infested. The Old Wooden traps are the best solution. They are quick and you can then dispose of the creatures. Humane traps are not the best solution. When the creatures are released they become someone else's problem and continue to breed. We simply cannot get too sentimental about killing Mice. Its Not nice, bt has to be done. Foxy

Does anyone know where to get a pet mouse?
DulwichFox replied to portioncontrol's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The average lifespan of a mouse kept in captivity is 2 years. Pet mice have one of the shortest lifespan of all pet rodents. Good luck with your search. No Idea where you might be able to buy one. Don't seem to see many Pet Shops these days. Used to loads in the 50's - 60's Selling Budgies.. Hamsters... Fish.. everything DulwichFox -
On the subject of Queueing .. I was born in the early 50's .. There were no supermarkets.. Before going to school at 5 y/o I went shopping with my Mum every morning. We went to the Butchers and Queued. We went to the Bakers and Queued. We went to the Greengrocers and Queued. The Grocery store was an other thing. Tea.. Sugar.. Flour were all loose and all had to be weighed. Even Biscuits were loose in boxes on the floor that were selected and weighed. Broken Biscuits could be bought at a reduced price. Then a trip to the paper shop.. and others.. Daily shopping took hours.. ( Rationing ended in July 1954. Before that some things were still in short supply. ) I have absolutely no desire to go back to the days of endless Queueing Especially for seemingly overpriced goods. However good they may be. Life is simply too short. and at my time of life is getting shorter. :) Foxy

Covid Vaccination How long will it take to Vaccinate everyone ? 66 million people need to be Vaccinated Twice, 21 days apart. Old people first 80+ Then Staggered decreasing age ranges Won't be safe until Young people get done who are more likely to go out and socialize. 12 - 18 months ?? Who really knows ? Cannot understand why Pubs can only sell alcohol with a substantial meal but Restaurants who DO sell substantial meals can only do take away or deliveries. DulwichFox

I do not always wear a mask when out in the open air. Walked through the market early afternoon. It was Rammed. There were so many people eating in the street. Obviously not wearing a mask. It was difficult to walk down Northcross Road. I quickly put on MY Mask. Very worrying. Not Safe. DulwichFox

You could try Smile 43 - 45 Northcross Rd. 020 8693 3339 DulwichFox

Energy efficient light bulbs are a type of fluorescent lamp and can be recycled at local recycling centres. They are Hazardous if broken.. Older style 'incandescent' bulbs aren't recyclable and should be thrown away in your rubbish bin. DulwichFox

The Original Poster quoted above. "The man pictured was wearing a cap and face mask and covered his face" Wearing a Mask ? That narrows it down.

The vehicle is Taxed and MOT'd till September 2021. I cannot believe anyone would drive around in such a vehicle attracting attention to themselves if they were on the Rob. O.P. needs to change the title / Subject of this thread. (White LDV van stealing bikes) ??? How many Bikes ?? Stealing ?? DulwichFox.
