  1. I have accumulated 4 5 Litre Plastic bottles of Cooking Oil. The bottles are strong with sturdy Screw Caps. I realise it should not be poured down the drain. I used to take it to Devon Street Depot but no longer have a car. The Waste collector told me to hide the bottle amongst the Food / Garden waste but I'm not too sure. One of the guys took one 5 litre bottle and threw it in his bin that they use as they go from door to door emptying Brown bins and Food Caddies. Googling the subject suggests doing the same. If the oil is in a strong sealed bottle it Can be put in with food waste. What do you think. What do you do with your waste cooking oil. ?? Foxy
  2. I am interested to know where on the Thames it was found. ? North or South Bank. I believe it has something to do with business activity, Part of Lifting gear.. Barge loading... Brewery ... Flour Mills .... ?? I Believe it is old. Foxy
  3. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Leave it next to Blue bins flattened, pop out and > say thank you when they come.. Yes .. That sounds like the best option. Our local waste collectors are brilliant and always appreciate a thank you for all their good work. I'm on Ulverscroft. Great set of teams on my road. Pop out if at home.. Say hello.. and give them a Thank you. They deserve it. We normally say Bin Men but my opposite neighbour .. a young women is a Bin Lorry Driver. Foxy DulwichFox
  4. I suspect everyone on Ulverscroft Rd would of received notification from Conway's that work on renewing Pavements has been halted as from Wednesday 7th October due to lack of supplies of required materials. Work hopefully to recommence on October 26th. and end date of 18th December. DulwichFox
  5. Basically Roads are built to be used by Cars and all other vehicles. Pavements are for people to walk on. Millions being spent repairing both. When the Council closes roads.. makes them one way... it creates a situation with many cars end up driving around lost. This is the cause of much of the pollution , congestion in our area. Restricting Parking also creates more congestion. Open up our roads... allow parking more freely and cars will be spread over a larger area and not in restricted areas. Wait and see When Southwark creates more CPZ's you will be able to park on every inch of available road as long as you pay.

The airline lobby > has deeper pockets of course. Much of Air Travel is essential. Going to the Cinema is Not. When I say Essential I mean for Airlines to survive. If Airlines go under then there would be no air travel when the Virus is over. Airlines cost Billions of pounds to maintain and rely on aircraft being in the air and Not on the ground. The economy needs air travel.
  7. I always have Loads of Goodies for the kids on Halloween. 60-70 kids came last year. I will not be participating this year. I am concerned about the amount of Sweeties the children accumulate. I suppose it does help boost the value my shares in local Dental Treatment.. Lol :)
  8. I use local shops.. Local to East Dulwich. I'm not anti Bellenden road shops. but they are NOT local to me where I live. I am not going out of my way to support traders out of my area. I shop where I can afford the prices. Foxy.
  9. Sainsburys may be a big store (chain) When My mum and myself used to go to Sainsburys Rye Lane in the 1950's it looked like this Is there any reason I should stop shopping at Sainsburys Foxy
  10. I think they took your request with a Pinch of Salt. One pinch of table salt converted to grams equals 0.36 g. Foxy
  11. Fresh turmeric will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks. When frozen, it'll last for up to six months. Why would anyone need 1 Kilo of fresh Turmeric. ?? If you freeze it then it is no longer fresh when defrosted. Also Studies typically use doses of 500?2,000 mg of turmeric per day. So 100grm will be more than enough.
  12. No its not per kilo.... FRESH TURMERIC ROOTS 100g Price: ?5.81 (?58.10 / kg) & FREE Delivery Foxy I see you edited out part of your post. where you suggested ?5.81 was per kilo.

  19. They will be starting on the East side of Ulverscroft next week. Possible from Monday. Let us hope the weather remains dry. DulwichFox.
  20. So.. No Halloween Kiddies going round the area.. No Bonfire night Fireworks Displays.. No Christmas.. No New Years Eve celebrations.. No exceptions. It's Grim. Foxy.

All the time your line is busy you could be missing an important genuine call. Foxy
  22. I have seen a couple of these 'TREE' markings I thought it was to indicate that a tree was once there so that workmen / Work persons repairing pavements would know there were stumps below. It had not occurred to me it was where New trees were to be planted. A lot of our streets / roads are very narrow where any new trees would be too close to houses and over time cause damage to the houses. Also block out light. Also over time Lift up pavements. If you like Trees.. Go to the Park. There are 100's of them there. Foxy
  23. Pubs and restaurants:- Customers will need to wear masks whilst being seated or visiting the loo. ?100 fine for not wearing one.. (First Offence) Masks not needed when seated. New regulations issued by the government say fines of ?1,000 can be issued if tables are not 2 metres apart, or 1 metre if other measures such as protective screens are in place. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/sep/21/police-in-england-to-enforce-covid-rules-on-pubs-with-fines-and-arrests DulwichFox
  24. They have progressed well. The North side was relatively simple. Taking up old paving slabs.. levelling off ... laying new slabs... The East side mostly has no slabs.. Just tarmac. I think it 'MAY' be a little more difficult to get things level. 'MAYBE' not. ?? Foxy
