  2. That really must of been very upsetting. I must say nothing shocks me these days.. Might be an isolated incident but needs to reported if anyone else experiences the same thing. Also reporting to any park warden. Do they still have them ? DulwichFox
  3. I had a 'For Fox Sake' sweatshirt in 1977.. from The League Against Cruel Sports.. Jah . Did you really think you were being original and amusing? DulwichFox

There are many examples in several threads where people have said they don't use / wouldn't use a place. The Pussey Liquor thread is a good example. With some prominent users expressing such a view. I have not seen any such judgement as above passed to those people. You just cannot drop the knock Foxy thing can you. ? Its tiresome.. DF

Sometimes just the one. I gave up drinking myself into a coma many years ago. foxy
  6. I'm up for the 6th. I think we all know which restaurant Mick Mack will choose. :) Answers on a Postcard Foxy
  7. Sue Wrote: > Because if we were all like you, no new place > would ever have any customers :) Nonesense.. They will have plenty of customers.. People who live nearer. People who the new facilities suits them. I.E. Sports / Food/ Garden / childrens area. Passing trade. It is not compulsary to visit every new Bar, Pub, Cafe, Restaurant, Shop. Why do people insist we all need to support ALL local businesses. ? Thats not practical. I do not have the resourses to constantly Eat and Drink out in ED or indeed anywhere else for that matter. I do my fair share of Eating and Drinking out. Foxy
  8. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How's The Lordship doing in the miasma of ED pubs? Well 200+ people on opening night (free beer) Been back a few times since and there were 4 or 5 people in at 9.30pm And a few dining. 6-8 So I I have tried. Friendly barman . Just the one. ?5.40 for Peroni Not been back for a few weeks. Foxy
  9. Why is that then Sue. Over the years I've been a regular in the Plough where I worked. A regular in the old Uplands , the Palmy. The Foresters / Bishop And now the EDT. I tend to stick with one pub and move on from time to time when things change. Like partners. Never felt the need for more than one at a time. Foxy
  10. In 35 years I think I have been to the New Hamlet Inn / Vale / Cherry Tree 4 or 5 times. Never seen the need to pass another pub to get there. Can't ever see things changing. DulwichFox
  11. Dog duck Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why not just treat it as a 'pop up' inconvenience? Yes . Exactly.. It's a minor inconvenience if you need the bus stop.. The crossing is still in place.. BUT Iceland has now gone. I'm sure it will all be fixed by the time M&S comes to town. Otherwise there will be riots. Foxy
  12. In true Foxy spirit.. I have to say there is very little if anything that I Hate about Summer. I love Summer.. (It was 43 Deg C. in Turkey and I Loved it.) Bit chilly back here.. at 24 Deg. I suppose as the thread was about hating summer, my views will be considered Negative.. :) Did not want to let anyone down.. Foxy
  13. And all that on about a dozen or so days every year. Foxy
  14. As I mentioned above ' green plastic piping '.. This evidently is used for Sewage & Drain Lines.. So would seem to be essential works. FYI. http://www.cornerstoneprojects.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Underground-Utility-Colour-Codes-Diagram.jpg DulwichFox
  15. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ... and yet I bet there are others on this forum > who will swear that the EDT is overrun with > children most of the time. I'm there EVERY night and pass it several times during the day often sitting outside with a Lime & Soda on a sunny day. It packed out most nights when Football is on. No kids. Only big ones. Foxy
  16. Well there were people working sat ? I walked passed and there was green plastic piping in the trench with later on had been covered up. DulwichFox
  17. Is it a bit odd that one never sees kids inside / outside the EDT. Day time / Night time. ? The EDT sells food all day and evenings. ? Probably because it's the only place on Lordship Lane that still resembles what can be called a Pub in the true sense. DulwichFox
  18. There is a choir that meets above the EDT public house I believe on Tuesdays. Not sure if its weekly / monthly. Well there is a singing group.. The best person to ask is Sue, that's her username here on EDF . perhaps you could PM her. I'm certain she would be delighted to help in your inquiry. DulwichFox
  19. So.. new knife law comes into force today.. which means if you are caught twice in possession of a blade / knife you will face a prison sentence of a Min. of 6 months.. What constitutes a blade / knife ? Inches ? In reality, how likely is any sentence likely to be passed down. There will always be those that will come to the defence of anyone breaking this law. I was always under the impression that such a law was already in place. ? DulwichFox
