I'm so sorry Louisa.. I popped out for a walk in Dulwich Park and the Village for an hour or so and wasn't posting .. ...so what happens ?? *bob* has to resort to insulting you in my absence. I think he must have some sort of E-mail Alert set up when ever either of us post anything. ..or he just sits there waiting like a optimistic fisherman waiting for a bite.. Foxy.

I used to use the Curry Cabin in it early years.. 1974 ish.. The older guy that is still there was 16 around that time and I was 22. The place was much smaller then as the bogs were downstairs at the back. Don't remember the green lights but yes it was dark. I lived in Peckham at that time but just seem to ferry people around as I was the only one with a car.. An Austin Cambridge with a big hole in the floor where the pedals where.. Still one of the best .. Foxy

A branch of the budget supermarket in Kent has installed the system in its camera-controlled car park to sting those who do not buy anything at the store. This may be how the OP got a ticket if they did not enter Lidl to make a purchase. I think they MAY operate the same system in Catford. Foxy

Hi Lou.. Its all the Working Class Heroes in ED. Like ..'They hate you if you're Clever and they despise a fool..' 'There's room at the top they are telling you still But first you must learn how to smile as you kill If you want to be like the folks on the hill' (John Lennon) Foxy

Yes.. Ask any migrant at Calais why he wants to come to England ? and they will tell you.. .. they want to get to east Dulwich because they have a New Cinema and a Franco Manca and you can take your kids to the pub... All the essentials that any desperate person would need.

It was once common practice that when ones children flew the nest they would settle locally.. Families lived nearby. This would seem to be no longer the case in E.D. Young people / couples simply cannot afford to first buy here, forcing them to move further afield. Families and indeed communities being torn apart. DulwichFox

Doing a quick Google it would seem the OP is not alone. There are Dozens+ of examples on several Forums up and down the country of people being fined for over stays in Lidl car parks. One was a disabled driver ! Also.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2711396/Would-risk-Lidl-introduces-free-parking-trial-10-MINUTE-limit-incurs-90-penalty.html So it would seem their parking policy is 'Complex' especially if you do not buy anything DulwichFox

Hi Blah Blah.. This thread has been somewhat distorted.. The argument was NEVER about whether the jars were labelled Honey or not. It was just a statement from myself in reply to your post that one should not be misled by what would appear to be genuine 100% honey. The Honeycomb which itself MAY be artificially made from edible gum. ? seemed to be the main selling factor. I think we were both convinced we were buying the 'real' thing. However the stuff was over sweet and had none of the usual flavours of more expensive Honey. Ultra filtering is a high-tech procedure where honey is heated, sometimes watered down and then forced at high pressure through extremely small filters to remove pollen, which is the only foolproof sign identifying the source of the honey. Cheap Honey will come from Multi-flower collection. Single Flower Honey Single flower honeys (also known as varietal, monofloral or unifloral honey) differ from multifloral or wildflower honeys by the predominance of nectar collected from a single type of plant. In practice, this can be difficult to achieve. The bees cannot be herded or trained to go to a particular type of plant. Single flower honey is the result of two conditions. First, the target plant must predominate so the bees have little choice of plants. Second, the beekeeper must time the introduction of the hive and the actual harvesting of the comb to coincide with this blooming period. This is done by carefully observing the blooming period of the chosen plant as well as possible overlapping blooming periods of other nectar-producing plants as well. That's why it is so expensive. Comparison with cheap and expensive honey is like comparing a supermarket value burger with one that has been handmade from prime cuts and 100% beef. Foxy
