  2. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- dead on a weekend night because the pubs were rough (Foresters anybody) and nobody wanted to visit ED for a night out. I contend that ED was invariably a shitehole, 'in need of improvement Well I'm not rough and I used the Foresters. It was a bit rough round the edges and it was not important that people did not travel from Putney to drink there. I had some good nights there with good people. There was the occasional scrap, over in 30 seconds. Nothing has changed on that front at The Bishop which also has had a few more serious flare ups. As to E.D. being a Shithole.. Yes it was... But it was OUR Shithole.. East Dulwich was err? East Dulwich.. Not the pretentious place it has become.. DulwichFox
  3. Mr Ben Please . I do not know what legal highs you might be taking Or any medication you might be on, but please unless You have something positive to add to any debate Or conversation you really need to water it down. I am available most nights in the EDT if you need someone to talk to. You can always PM me if that would help . I'm a very easy person to talk to in reSl life, DulwichFox
  4. Lou They crucified Jesus. They beheaded Sir Thomas More. Even if you do not believe in either of their principles they stuck to them. A Man for all Seasons. Joe Hill (Joan Baez) You can never take away a mans' soul. Even when they hammer in the last nail. And I've only just started on my second pint lol Foxy
  5. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > fook me what pair of chippy unpleasants What does that mean. ?? I'm out every night meeting my public. I'm a social butterfly. I talk to people. Do my magic tricks. I talk to everyone and anyone. Where are you tonight ???? ? Who is the sad miserable old git? Well it ain't me . I am The Fox and I am just an alright geezer.
  6. I never saw the dog. I know Simon likes dogs. I really don't like animals performing. Wether it's cruel or not. Just something I'm funny about. Foxy
  7. I think Louisa it's not so much just being seen It's about letting every one know about it if You haven't been seen. 'Oh we went there the other night, I had the Oyster Terraine and my O.H had the Bollocks. Oh no the scallops' Jesus Foxy

I have been watching but nothing has really inspired me much. It's not been a good year. Would not wish to meet the little girl with The swords on a dark night . She's scary lol Foxy

After all I got my Foxy Tea Towels and Foxy Mug there. Foxy.
  10. Alan.. It has to potential to be a great pub, but it's too big. It's freezing in there in the winter. If it was separate bars with partitions it might feel a bit cosier. That's why I like the EDT especially in the winter with 2 open fires. Yes, I'm sure people would use it if it was 50p a pint. The problem with The Cherry Tree is the owners and how they have treated the managers, chefs and staff. all of which have worked tirelessly to attract customers with no reward. Foxy
  11. It was some time back 4-5 years when I used to drink in The Bishop.. ... a guy told me he had just paid ?20.00 for a cab from Putney because The Bishop was the BEST pub. I did mention the 37 bus but he said there was the 2 of them..... and they were going to get a cab back home later after midnight. Surely there must be better pubs in Putney or nearby than the Bishop. Foxy
  12. Every now and again something good happens on EDF.. Good work stewart 2 Foxy
  13. That's the problem.. It's what I have been saying all along.. It becomes the norm... .. when people accept it and say "That's about right for around here". And all these places just follow each other.. and people keep paying. DulwichFox
  14. I wouldn't drink there if it was 50p a pint. DulwichFox
  15. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well I don't believe in the concept of Street Cred > even existing except in someone's mind. Perhaps that's the answer ? Like I said in my opening post.. I'm really have no idea on this...... ...... Advice needed Evidently.. It is important to "Walk the Walk" and not just "Talk the Talk" when it comes to maintaining true street cred. I will bear that in mind. I can remember when all one needed was a Filofax.. Foxy :)
  16. Well if East Dulwich is now so good then lets all hope in the next 5 - 10 years nothing else changes... ... otherwise there will be another group of EDF Forumites going on about their good old days when they're all grown up and older. DulwichFox

  21. It's the suggestion that Iceland is only there for 'poor' people is the very reason it has been stigmatized by some who have suggested it is an eyesore. I do not use Iceland primarily to save money. I use Iceland when it is convenient, often just popping in when out and about on Lordship Lane. The staff there are indeed friendly and helpful with a more personal touch. I cannot see any replacement being able to give that personal touch and I will be sad to see it go. DulwichFox

  25. I like Ars?ne Wenger .. decent fellow but not a fan of Arsenal .. don't really know why but there you go. So.. I'm Gunning (see what I did there) for Aston Villa. Not had a bet. I don't gamble. Not sure they can do it , but would be good to see. DulwichFox
