It is disgusting but cannot deny that back in the 70/80's I never participated myself. The Last bus from Lewisham to Peckham there were lots of people eating and I believe smoking was still allowed (Tube 9th July 1984 smoking banned) not sure about the buses. DulwichFox

Bit like Quiz night in Pubs.. Sit there for 2 hours sipping half of lager or a Lime & Soda (free) then sod of home after the Quiz ends.. DulwichFox -

Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I got the impression the thread was for anyone who > agreed that fox hunting was bad and could talk > about it being bad and sign the petition if you > wanted. > > Louisa. Yes Lou. That's about it. I just did not want to discuss it again. Was expecting people so say 'Thanks for the link - Signed :) ' Strange thing was that no one came back in support of hunting. Their concern was more of a technical error in the wording, grammar and spelling of my thread. Quite often people go on about negativity without making any positive comments of there own. Just lose the will to live sometimes :) Foxy

Goodness sake.. R.D. Lush. Loz. How dull your lives must be if all you have to talk about is Foxy's spelling grammar thread wording. I will be going on holiday soon and I won't be coming on here. Will you all still be talking about it when I get back in 8 weeks time.? It's laughable. Get out and about. Go for a beer. Chill. Go on holiday. I my self spend far to much time here. but I do get out walking most days and I'm out and about every night. Foxy.

We have just suffered 5 years of Cameron and know where his priorities lay. The Fox Hunting thing is a little bonus for his mates in the House of Lords.. .. and the Country Alliance.. Whoops.. You tricked me there.. almost got me debating the issue.. Foxy

The Bellenden Road area is in Peckham where parking restrictions are tighter than East Dulwich. .. But people seem to be able to park where some parking restrictions would seem to be justified. .. Bellenden Road is very congested and the ridiculous criss cross one way system just baffles me. .. Southwark seems to impose restrictions on roads where parking would NOT cause a problem. .. The motorist is an easy target to get revenue from. DulwichFox

What I actually said in the original post... That is very different from what some people are saying. The subject has been discussed at length before (like Pizza) and we do not NEED another debate. It was a Public Information thread pointing to a petition in view of the new government's intention to repeal the Fox Hunting Ban. DulwichFox

I've never eaten Oysters.. and I don't think I ever will. I also will NEVER eat snails.. and I'm not the only one on EDF ;-) Foxy

I wasn't looking for ANY views. I said no debate. Again.. It was just a link to a petition for people who wanted to sign it. I could not of made it easier to understand. The thread was in the LOUNGE. Where all the 'Bad' guys are sent. It should not of been closed. It was closed because of some ones personal political view. Like anyone who respects and supports Animal Liberty /rights has to be some kind of Radical 'Lefty' Anarchist. DulwichFox

As I said, I find too many > morons on both side of the argument to want to > take sides. If you do not care one way or the other then why don't you look for another thread to hi-jack. It's something you seem to be very good at. Like I said this thread is to bring attention to a petition for people who do care to be able to participate. and that's all it is.... DulwichFox

This subject has been discussed to death. If you want to Resurrect an old thread or start a new one please feel to do so. This thread has been raised to raise awareness of the current Petition to the Government. DulwichFox

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has said he believes in the "freedom to hunt" and wants fox hunting legalised. He has said he has "always been a strong supporter of country sports" and that "it is [his] firm belief that people should have the freedom to hunt". After their majority win in the election on 7th May 2015, the Conservatives will very likely hold a parliamentary vote on repealing the fox hunting ban. This is not a thread to discuss Fox Hunting but a chance to express any apposing views and sign the petition. https://www.change.org/p/david-cameron-mp-keep-the-ban-on-fox-hunting-2 DulwichFox Protecting our precious wild life.

I don't care about what's happening in Camdem. I don't care what's happening in East London. I'm talking about and I think Louisa is talking about OUR Local community. There isn't one. Even couples in the pubs do not talk to each other. They just sit there on there mobiles or ipods. Wi-Fi has killed conversation. The Virtual Community. The internet and isolation. 'Can you keep quiet please. It's Quiz night and we can't hear the questions if you keep talking..' DulwichFox

I understand fully what Louisa is saying and agree with her.. Having said that, I can remember my mum and grandparents talking about their 'Good Old' days. When they lived in a condemned house with only gas light, an outside toilet, 1 cold tap, coal fires. I lived in that house for the first 18 months of my life. I did not die of the cold and damp. Most of the people in Peckham were in the same boat. We had no television, no phone, no hot water, no fridge. People were content. People looked after each other. There really was a sense of community. You suppose we simply cannot expect people of a certain age to understand that sense of community. As I grew up in Peckham living at home, the community was the one of my parents. When I moved out and came to Dulwich in 1980 I found my community. The same community no doubt Louisa is talking about. but the life has been sucked out of the place.. Ok we have more restaurants, shops, the 'Market' but the market does not represent E.D. as do the markets in France, Belgium and other markets around the world that have existed in some cases for 100's of years. The only community would seem to be The EDF. where most people do not know each other. For some this virtual world is their life line. In many cases all people seem to want to do is impress others about where they can afford to eat and drink. There are a few exceptions. The Curry Club is a good example, but even the Curry Club (open to anyone) members seldom meet up outside curry nights although do tend to bump into each other from time to time. Also there are many many more people who live in E.D. that do not use The EDF. The EDF is not the end all of opinion on our area and talking to people outside of The EDF they all have their own opinions of the area. The whole subject of The East Dulwich Community could fill a book. 'Where did our Community Go? ' DulwichFox

I think it may not be practical for individuals To donate blankets with the cost of collecting And transporting to the area. This is something the Red Cross are well equipped to deal with. A small donation however small is a better alternative. ?25.00 provides 4 families with clean water for one month. Foxy
