  1. Well with reduced speed limits fares may well increase when some loony suggests TFL must employ someone to walk in front of every bus with a red flag to warn cyclists and pedestrians. Foxy

I only ever 'need' to go to Brixton occasionally as the Nationwide B.S. closed in Peckham and Brixton is now the only one nearby. So I have only ever been to Brixton 'Village' during the day when everything seems to be closed and the place is deserted. Just looks a little disheveled for want of a better word. Having said that it's the sort of place I tend to hang around in the covered Markets in parts of Turkey. ..but for what ever reason I feel a little more vulnerable in certain parts of S.E. London than I do in many foreign destinations. DulwichFox
  3. I remember him well.. He played at The 2 Brewers Clapham and If my memory serves me well at The Newlands Tavern (The Stuart Arms) now The Ivy House. He was a really ordinary guy who would talk amongst his audience Died 6 February 2000 Foxy
  4. I am personally Sick to the High Teeth of the ramblings of all of the Party Leaders.. I am an Old School Labour supporter having been a card carrying member of The Dulwich Labour Party back in the 80's. Anthony Charles Lynton "Tony" Blair put paid to that with his endorsement to the invasion of Iraq. Also Gordon Brown who almost single handedly brought about the collapse of the World Economy. I could never vote Tory. My Grandfather a former South Wales Coal Miner from the age of 13 would turn in his grave despite being dead for 45 years. Despite the good work of our local Lib. Dem. candidate James Barber, I could not vote for them in a General Election. And despite being concerned about the environment I do not go to the extremes of the Green Party. I'm not in total agreement with any of the Minority Parties and feel would be a wasted vote just to get any one single point across. I feel unable to vote.. DulwichFox
  5. I do not condone the vandalism (I expect some here on EDF would where Foxtons is concerned) but perhaps there were some on yesterdays rally that had serious concerns about their area after seeing what has happened to nearby East Dulwich and 'Clarm' There would of course be the usual mob that attends all rallies / demos with a view to cause disruption and chaos. I remember Brixton in the 50's when some roads were covered. You can still see the metal struts protruding from the buildings. I think that certain parts of Brixton do need some improvement .. especially the so called 'Brixton Village' Its dreadful. (no pun intended) The High Street is a High St. With High Street Stores and very different from Lordship lane which is a lane and not a High Street. DulwichFox
  6. Steve Waller Went to William Penn school Also played with Manfred Mans Earth Band.. Lovely chap Foxy
  7. With so many other Estate Agents on Lordship Lane I fail to see why Foxtons always gets singled out as some sort of bad guy.. .. Why so much resentment. ?? DulwichFox
  8. I did notice in one of the pictures that the seating was arranged in 'direct' lines and not staggered so the viewer will be looking at the back of some ones head. Especially if you are not very tall. Foxy

  10. I'd be interested to see the upstairs. Last time I was up there was Jan 93 for my wedding reception. It was a real dump then but all we could afford at the time. We thought we were getting the downstairs bar area at the time.. :) Foxy

I think it is just that Louisa's humour and also my own humour does not come across in written form. It is true what Louisa said 'A lot of her humour is lost in translation' That would seem to apply to myself.. Face to face its is easier to get what people are getting at when you have eye contact. The little glint in the eye, the wink, the nod.. :) DulwichFox

It does not seem at all fair that people here on EDF are being allowed to continue mocking and insulting some one who is no longer in a position to defend themselves. It's not right. and people doing so know that. DulwichFox
  13. I would like to see Iceland stay but happy to see M&S/Waitrose replace the Co-op. The Co-op supposedly the People's supermarket is hardly what it set out to be when established in 1844. It's dreadful in there, expensive. Apart from the many items on or near their Best By / Use By dates.. Let's keep Iceland and ditch The Co-op DulwichFox

  15. Think I will go to the Pub now. I need Beer... Foxy
  16. Tarot.. Like I said you have been around for 6 years or so. 1813 or so posts. Having had a very brief scan over those years it would seem that you have engaged in interactive conversation with other users. Showed an interest in the drinks club and socializing .. But you now seem to be engaging in a more aggressive tone. Insulting Louisa and women in general with comments like 'go and do your nails or something' I think you need to tone it down a bit. Not a true 'Troll' as in that sense.. Tarot has been around since 14/07/2009 DulwichFox
  18. Well it's refreshing at the very least that a responsible cyclist is having a go at another cyclist who was riding less responsibly.. and not defending all cyclists like many others do . Well done to jack_G_S DulwichFox
  19. There is a Mobile shredding unit that a neighbour of mine uses to shred securely bulk loads. I will try and get details when I next see him if that would help .? Foxy
  20. Spoke to the staff in the French Caf? this morning... It seems they will be moving as soon as possible. Work in progress at L'Auberge .. It would also seem they are not keeping the present place on. ? Foxy.
  21. It would seem that with Boris branding it a jump on/off bus that it was never meant for long journeys. ie. Dulwich to West end.. I have yet to travel on one but as I seldom travel on public transport preferring to walk on short journeys they may well be scrapped before I get around to it. I actually liked the Bendy Busses as when I was still working I always managed to get a seat. DulwichFox
  22. Calls over BT to 0871 numbers are charged between 6p - 10p per min. There may also be a Call Set-up Fee. DulwichFox
  23. One of these... http://classicglory.co.uk/images/webonly/jtogills7d.jpg Sunbeam S7 Deluxe 1949 - 1956 I had a Girl friend that had previously owned one.. She wrecked it when she crashed at a roundabout somewhere in Wandsworth I believe. Probably after a lengthy session in The Spread Eagle.. Foxy

Cannot remember specifically what that favour was. :) A lot of my 'work' here on EDF is in the way of PM's offering help and assistance to other users. So unseen to everyone else here. aggressive... ??? There was a time when I wouldn't say BOO to a Goose. I just stick up for myself now. This may shock some people who knew be back then. Anyway I'm off to the French Caf? for one of those spirally things with currants in and a pot of tea. ETA :- I remember now . I repaired your Radio. Foxy
