  1. Brilliant service.. I have seen the collection point at Millwall Football ground car park (The Blue Bus) I will try to remember to make a donation of food at the next home game on the 6th Dec. Another good thing that Millwall FC does for the local community that never gets much publicity. DulwichFox
  2. Hi Sue When I first read this thread I did not notice it was you. I always see your car when I walk down our road and did notice it was missing. Saw it yesterday.. :( So sorry for you. Must be a real pain when you must rely on it at times. I did notice Last month ?? your front number plate was missing. Poor car really going through the wars.. :( Hope you get it sorted real soon. 5. And all the Foxy / Louisa bashers continue when we aren't even posting. Accusing us of posting off topic. Why not say something positive yourself on topic instead of talking about me and Louisa. It is not either of us that are posting off topic. and what has Dick Van Dyke got to do with anything..?? DF

The problem is. They are NOT new shops . The ones that are opening are just replacing ones that have closed down. People that have lost their livelihoods. That's the truth of the matter. Someone's gain is another person's loss.. And that is my main opposition to change. That is why loyalty is more important than a whim. You see, I truly like East Dulwich. That's why I choose to live here. It' those that want continuous change that are not content with living here as it is. DulwichFox.

Did you not read all of my post ?? Like I said elsewhere I had a business in Uplands Rd in 1993 based on a whim. It did not work out so I went back to what I know. Electrical Engineering and telecoms. So I understand more than most what its like to fail. I've been there myself.. and therefore know what I'm talking about. Too many people here suffer from selective reading. DulwichFox

So Foxy's initial negativity once again becomes reality... Could of saved them the trouble and the money and the time it took to set up. Not glad its closed. Not feeling smug. Some things are just not thought though. Like I said elsewhere I had a business in Uplands Rd in 1993 based on a whim. It did not work out so I went back to what I know. Electrical Engineering and telecoms. So I understand more than most what its like to fail. You cannot build a business on the whim of a few people guaranteeing to use your services and saying what a 'Brill' idea it is and pledging their loyalty. The Pub part did not attract custom and I don't think there was much effort to make it a comfortable place to drink. The food got some positive comments but not enough people could afford to eat there or went back. Wont be the last place to fail. DulwichFox
  11. I'm having Fish'N'Chips tonight from Semas Fish Bar Underhill Rd. Good honest Turkish Chippy... Small Cod & small chips ?5.50 DulwichFox

  13. LondonMix or anyone else here.. Take a stroll with me down Lordship lane any time of day and just see how many people know me and even wave. I'm well known to many local businesses and on friendly terms. Siduhe.. Lordship lane and North Cross have developed over the 35 years I have been here in East Dulwich. I used Curry Cabin back in 1972 when the guy still there was 16. When I lived in Peckham. ...and Golden Tandoori (N.C. Rd) back in the early eighties even before Faruk was there and there was a Indian lady serving food. One of the very few Indian rests. open on a Sunday afternoon. The Turkish deli was once Greek and owned by a friend of mine's family. I have seen many changes and probably know LL as well as anyone else here. So I have continued to adopt to change over the years... ..But I agree with Louisa in what she said above.. DulwichFox
  14. I seem to have no mail on any of my BT Accounts on all devices.. Continual requests to re-enter password on all accounts.. Anyone else having problems Internet unaffected DulwichFox

I have praised many local businesses Dulwich Tandoori Jaflong Hisar EDT Dulwich DIY I even wrote that I thought the recent refurb of Manco Franca was the best refurb ever. even if I don't eat pizza. I wrote good reports about Locale in when they were around. Praised Icelands Too down market for many here. Hirst's Bakery I give credit to any place that gives me good service.. I had a shop in Uplands road in 1993. I was one of the first people to have a shop here when North Cross was virtually derelict. DulwichFox

Two in five Britons never read a book so he is not alone. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-117098/Two-Britons-read-book.html I've read many books in the past but simply do not have the time these days. With digital cine-photography I'm don't know if they still dim the lights. But as soon as they do, I'm fast asleep within 5-10 mins. Same if I try and watch a film at home. DulwichFox

  25. http://static0.bornrichimages.com/wp-content/uploads/s3/images/2006/04/15/ewqewwqerwew.jpg A recent auction on the eBay is going to stun you, where Tom Bridge from Newburgh, Lancashire is going to put up his renovated cheese toast, costing ?345 a slice for sale. I know I am going to stop every time I bite into my slice of Cheese toast. But if you think of the contents you would know why Bridge tagged a slice at such a high - L'Aquila White Umbrian truffles, worth ?1,400 per kilo, and Matsutake Chinese mushrooms, at ?250 per lb. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://most-expensive.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/expensive-cheese-toast1.jpg Bridge?s Welsh Rarebit is a slice of Warburtons Toastie bread topped with creamy Lancashire cheese, chosen for its unique melting consistency, as well as L?Aquila white Umbrian truffles and Matsutake Chinese mushrooms. Considering the high price of both the truffles and the mushrooms, the dish cost a grand total of £345 (about US $609 at the time) to create. http://most-expensive.com/cheese-on-toast
