When I go on holiday I want to see the cultures of the places I go to. Much of Spain (Not one of my destinations) has been destroyed my the Brits abroad brigade. People that find the need to change everything to suit their needs because they dislike what's already there. People with nothing positive to say themselves just go for the Bash Foxy and Louisa in a vague attempt to make themselves popular with others. Its very tedious listening to the lot of you going on about either of us every time one of us voices an opinion and not adding anything positive to the discussion your self. DF

I sometime wonder how much more it might of risen in price if I could still park outside my home at all times. and did not have to put up with hot-dogs and onion smells wafting up my road on Saturdays. And the constant traffic up and down my road. People come to markets.. No one CHOOSES to LIVE on / near one DulwichFox
  3. Thank you so much for that JOHNNYBOY.. I was 11 at the time and can remember virtually everything in those two clips. Even St Luke's Church. I'm pretty certain that was Father Williams outside who was also associated with St. Lukes & Camden Primary school which I attended until 1964.. DulwichFox
  4. There is a TV programme Don't Mess with Me that asks members of the public to pick up rubbish and 'Put it in the Bin' Well be careful if you do. You could get a fine if the piece of litter is deemed as 'domestic' A man has been issued with a ?50 fine for "misusing" a litter bin - by putting rubbish in it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1512599/50-fine-for-putting-rubbish-in-litter-bin.html DulwichFox

Cutting out meat is not all that it takes to follow a vegetarian diet. You need to remember that whenever you omit a food group you could potentially be missing some essential nutrients. Like Omega-3 fatty acids.. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to slow the progression of atherosclerosis, reduce triglyceride levels, act as an anti-inflammatory agent, possibly help with depression and other personality disorders, and possibly thin the blood. Vegetarians often suffer from depression and anxiety.. possibly due to lack of Omega-3 fatty acids.. This is particularly true in Pregnant women and also during Menopause .. Omega-3 fatty acids ease psychological distress and depressive symptoms often suffered by menopausal and perimenopausal women, according to new research. The study presents the first evidence that omega-3 supplements are effective for treating common menopause-related mental health problems. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/01/090128104702.htm I'm no expert on this complex matter.. .. I know a little about this from Diabetes related depression and the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids.. read more here: http://www.medicinenet.com/vegetarian_and_vegan_diet/page2.htm DulwichFox
  6. Like I said above, I was veggie for 3 years. Did not stray once. I eat animal produce now but my concern is more about how animals are reared. Any food produced by cruel measures such as Foie Gras is strictly off limit and I will go to the lengths of avoiding any restaurant that serves it. IE Franklins, The French House and now Prettys. Many animals are Predatory they eat other animals and expect to be eaten themselves. Especially those that live in the sea. There are those around us will feel the need to try exotic animals or animals many people would disapprove of eating. I do not ever feel any need or desire to eat these creatures for fun or to impress others. If you eat animals, then you need to ensure that they have been reared in humane conditions and not been subjected to any forms of cruelty or mistreatment. Respect what you eat. DulwichFox
  7. I was vegetarian back in the 70's My then partner and many of my friends were vegan. I was veggie for about three years so more than just a fad. IMHO eating meat substitutes shows a desire to eat something that resembles the real thing. Well it was for me. Sausmix sausages that you made yourself. No ready made stuff back then. Tasted awful. Quorn sausages are quite nice. Not tried Quorn 'bacon' ?? I did not like vegetables. Many vegetarians don't eat many vegetables and rely on meat substitutes. I know Aquarius Moon has stated this in a previous thread. I got round this by eating vegetable/mushroom Biryanis with Phal hot vegetable side dish. Virtually every day. Did not eat any cheese so apart from milk so I was virtually Vegan. Being vegetarian and especially Vegan can cause serious health implications but you could fill a book to explain it all and I simply do not know about the subject to comment further. Its a complex subject and one that will always create discussion. P.S I admire those that have the commitment to stick with it. People like Aquarius Moon. DulwichFox

I was explain to Sue how it works. it was in response to questions. 1. I thought ISPs only changed if you switched off your router? 2. Isn't that how - for example - the people who run this forum could tell if somebody had two separate forum names but were using the same computer? Ask a techy question I think Sue will understand. Basically your IP Address could change every time you connect to the internet. This is not the IP Address that identifies your PC. You have 2 IP Addresses Local & External. Your local IP address is what identifies your computer or device to the local network. Your external/public IP address is what the rest of the internet sees. Your Local IP never changes. The External IP changes all the time and is allocated by your ISP Internet Service Provider. Static Addresses that do not change are expensive and only available to business customers. There simply is not enough addresses for everyone to have a static IP so they are shared. Even though the number of addresses are 256 x 256 x 256 x 256 ... 4,294,967,296 Many of these are reserved leaving 3 billion + available for use. Hope that helps Foxy

I have BT Broadband. I was having terrible problems with loosing my connection 10 or more times a day. Wireless connections can be affected by cordless phones being too close to the router. I changed my WAN Connection Type from PPPoA to PPPoE and the problem has ceased. PPPoA requires a Static IP Address . so every time your IP changes your router needs to be reset. Your ISP will change your IP Address several times a day. Foxy

  18. Hi Sue I had a car hit me up the rear (as they say) very slow impact as we were in slow moving traffic. The hatch door was slightly damaged but would not close. My car was written off ?? But eventually a sum ?? was offered to pay for partial repair to replace hatch door. Still leaks when it rains heavily but have enjoyed 4-5 years more driving and car still going strong. Hope you can sort something out and get more mileage out of your car. Foxy
  19. Excellent night at Mirash.. Great turnout. 14 of us Bit of a wait but we did order our starters quite late as we munched through our poppadoms and chutneys.. All our starters turned up at the same time as did our mains and naans etc. (Not the same time as our starters) Copious amounts of beer and wine were consumed. and we all got an on the house cocktail.. Big thank you to Michael P. for organising. Big thank you to Mirash Big thank you to all who bought RNIB Raffle tickets. Good Luck. Foxy

I'm in The EDT most nights and they have football with the sound on most nights. They have 3 screens and sometimes have more than one game on. It is probably the best pub to drink and watch football. Never heard ELO being played during the game or any other time for that matter.. Only complaint I have is the area manager has banned Millwall games. DulwichFox
