I quite like the tat but not going to pay ?30-40 for an old OXO tin if you get my drift. Even if that's what they go for. I do not consider a Dog in a Bun as Street food. Perhaps it's not meant to be. I suppose if you are out for the day/few hours with the kids then it might suffice. But if you live 300 yards away and walk through there 4-6 times on a Sat. One is hardly likely stop of and buy anything when you can eat at home. I buy Tea from the Tiger Tea tea man but he is not there very often. Other than that I have no bicycle to repair. Think that guy does a good service. Miss the Photographer guy that used to be outside Clippers. Used to stop and have a chat. Knowledgeable guy. DulwichFox -

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham
DulwichFox replied to LondonMix's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The market is not a new thing... As I understand, back in the day. Not sure how far back. There was a market from Lordship Lane right up to Crystal Palace Rd. So I've been told. Presumably there was not a parking problem back then. And then shops on Upland Rd up to Barry Rd. Indeed my shop was at 13 Upland rd. 1993. Now 2 flats So Foxy was indeed instigative of the first phase of regeneration. DulwichFox -

The market certainly IS a destination.. You cannot pass on the pavement for the crowds. Since North Cross has been closed off on Market days, cars enter my road from Whateley rd. and hit the first space thy can find, that's my end. So as soon as a space becomes available it gets filled. Further down it is easier to get parked. DF -

I cannot afford the prices at places like Moxons ?9.00+ for 2 Sea Bass fillets. ?4.50 at Tesco. You need to re-enter the real world. DulwichFox -

Going to Tesco is my highlight of the week. Meat and veg * fish not the best but as good as anything you can buy locally. DF -
I have no family apart from cousins in Canada and Newcastle who I have not seen for 50+ years. I do have a 2 case of Peroni, Grand Marnier, Drambuie, Cointreau, Apple Estate Jamaican Rum, Grants Whisky, Khahlua, Pernod , Turkish Raki, Black Sambuca, White Sambuca, Greek Ouzo. Sherry. Just need a paper hat and some twiglets. I will lock my door on Christmas eve and not open it till Boxing day night when I will have my usual Christmas Curry. DulwichFox

nxjen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > and this is all the market's fault??!! It's all part and parcel. On a Sat its all the market visitors who are too lazy to walk anywhere. I walk everywhere and mainly use my car on a Sat to do my weekly shop. Then I park in Whateley and take 2-3 trips to collect my shopping. Remember My last reply was in response to Sue and parking issues. DF -

Its 300 steps 258Mtres from my home to North Cross Rd. On one occasion a mini bus was parked outside my house for 2 weeks. Only last week I could not get outside my house for 6 days. If go shopping on a sat. I get back and cannot park outside my place till 6-7 pm And then if I spot a gap by the time i've gone round the block it's been taken. There are also 2 skips opposite and 2 doors along which has been there since June (30-40 Skips in that time) So there is the added problem of skip lorries / builders lorries / 3 houses that have had scaffolding. It is a complete nightmare. Non stop lorries all day. Foxy.. -

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- And in case you hadn't noticed, many people have > recently moved to our road, presumably all > CHOOSING (your caps) to LIVE (ditto) near the > market :)) Yes many people have indeed moved to our road. And an equal amount have moved out to make room for them. Was a time when property in our road and the other one running parallel was impossible to come by. But many people have just had enough of the market and the parking situation and are just moving out. I talk to a lot of people and get a lot of feedback. I have lovely next door neighbours but they are now moving out. People moving here do not know what they are letting themselves in for. and paying on average ?650k - ?800k It's out off control Foxy -
Virgin Media outage - Crystal Palace Road

I get Virgin Media Garb through my door every week... Seems they need to spend more money on the upkeep of their systems instead all the publicity stuff. Would not touch them with a barge pole. DulwichFox -
