Evans Cycles opened on the Kennington Road in south east London. They have built up the business over 90 + years. The business was purchased by Joseph Smith in the 1950s. At the time, the shop sold a range of cycles and toys, but during the seventies Joseph handed the business on to his son, Gary Smith, who developed the shop into a specialist cycle retailer. So has been well established for 40 years. http://www.evanscycles.com/help/about-evans-cycles DulwichFox -

The Raven The raven on the roof closed one eye Preened himself against the sky Picked his beak with a crooked claw And settled down to wait once more In the house beneath the family sat Tossing goldfish to the cat TV dinners on their knee And forty-nine lights on the Xmas tree Father?s made a lot of bread "Someone?s got to make guns" father said "We know it?s all right and there?s the proof" "Our house has got a raven on the roof" "The next door neighbours, there are a joke" "They cultivate a garden which they smoke" "And send their kids to the local schools" "They must be growing up a bunch of fools" "The next door neighbours haven?t a cent" "We own our house but they pay rent" "Property owners should remain aloof" "Especially when they?ve got a raven on their roof" When father was fifty he fell ill Mother puts the crumbs on the window-sill Like she usually did, but he died in pain And they found he had a raven in his brain Copyright: Andy Roberts Says it all... KK You seem to be very selective in your reading. I have not trashed this venue: Posted by DulwichFox November 12, 06:30PM Just to put the record straight... I think the Franco Manca prices seem reasonable. Friends who have used the Brixton branch speak highly of the place and I trust their judgement. I simple do not much like cheese or tomatoes except when cooked in sauces such as curry. I simply do not like Pizza. I'm sure they will do well and wish them all the very best especially after they have done so much work to the place to overcome the previous problems with the design of the building. Please take a little more time to read all posts before you make judgement based on any previous anti Foxy sentiments. DulwichFox.

People always say... It's cheap / a bargain for round here... Well what is around here..? House prices , Food prices, Drink prices have been artificially inflated because people 'around here' think that East Dulwich with it's Victorian Terraces is somewhere special. It isn't . Trouble is, other areas are adopting a similar attitude in the 'Snob Race' "Oh we went to 'That New Place' It was very expensive, but was really nice." "And we got a free coffee" It's all getting out of hand. DulwichFox

I like many people had to walk in the road to get by as people were franticly trying to push their way to the front to get in. It was sheer madness.. Lucky if no one was injured or worse. ? DulwichFox

Aircraft fly directly above my house. and I mean Directly above. When indoors with my windows closed I do not hear them. I have double glazing. Nothing special. When in the garden in the summer the fly over my home but I hardly notice them. They only time I hear them is the early morning flights in the summer when I have my bedroom windows open and the air is still. Cars up and down my road all night are MUCH more of a problem. The queue was horrendous at 8.30pm and still queuing at 10.00pm The noise just walking past was pretty awful. To my mind Pizza conjures up a dimly candle lit warm atmosphere with an orange glow. Not to the horrendous bright lights of this new addition to Lordship Lane. Reminiscent of a high street McDonalds. Does not look like a relaxed atmosphere where one could experience a romantic evening with a bottle of red. What a shame. Foxy

Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not always! > > http://groceries.iceland.co.uk/snacksters-sliced-d > oner-kebab-meat-600g/p/52520 Yes they do do Chicken doner but traditionally it is Lamb D?ner comes from the Turkish verb D?nmek To Turn So a D?ner kebab is simply a turning kebab. Foxy Edited to adjust for unprintable Turkish Characters.

How do bees make honey? Well, it Isn?t Really All THAT Bad... But for some, it may be best to enjoy honey without knowing the details of how it?s made. For those who are still with me, honey is the regurgitated nectar of flowers, carried from the flower to the hive in the bee?s honey stomach, where it is mixed with some enzymes from the bee?s saliva. When the foraging bee returns to the hive with her load of nectar, she transfers it to a young worker bee (called a house bee) that begins the process of ?ripening? the nectar. The nectar is ripened by reducing the moisture content of the watery nectar, transforming it into the thick, syrupy consistency of honey. The ripening process is begun when the house bee repeatedly ingests and regurgitates the nectar, exposing it to the drying air, and then finally depositing it in a honeycomb cell where it will continue to ripen until the cell is sealed with a wax capping. So that?s it. The bees eat the nectar, mix it with their spit, throw it up, and then do it over again and again to produce a drop of honey. That's how bees make honey. Not really all that bad, is it? http://www.bees-and-beekeeping.com/how-do-bees-make-honey.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So Honey is made from Bee Vomit. That's why it tastes so nice. Foxy
