Any one see a car accidents on lordship lane today ?

Yet Another first time poster with a Calamatous story.. Generating discussion.. Then leaving without any further comment. ***Thread Closed*** ?? -
I have seen the bin men regularly drag bins over walls.. A double skin wall should be able to take this but still bad practice. Picture would suggest there would be no need to do this in bgsbgone's case. BUT. Having 7 tiers of bricks in the coloumb (Stack) would make it weak with the leaverage. Still careless on the bin men's part. Fox.

It would be good to know > what these scams are - stealing furnishings is the > only one I can think of. There are many Tenant/Landlord Scams.. Renting on behalf of someone else.... How well do you know this Friend. ? Is the person someone that has just befriend you. ? Someone you met in pub. Why don't they advertise the flat themselves. One possible scam. You advertise the flat. You get replies and the 'Friend' shows them around the flat. They tell the applicants they are looking for the right Tenant and would get back to them. After a dozen or so viewings the 'Friend' contacts all the applicants saying they have been successful and they need to pay 1 months rent in advance to secure the tenancy. That is just part of the Scam.. The property does not belong to the 'Friend' they are just renting it. Short Term. The scammer dissapears with all the money from the deposits. And the 12 people scammed only have your details as it was you that placed the advert. Just one example. There are many variations. Fox.

Well there is a 30 min max. no return within 2 hours.. Point is, it's a bit embarrasing reporting it to the Police. So will have to grin and bear it or face a hefty fine. Fox. -

Characterized by a lack of intelligence or sensitivity. Would therefore seem that you are the one who is being obtuse unless of course it was genuinly meant as an insult. Fox.

am I allowed to disconnect my own gas cooker?
DulwichFox replied to curlykaren's topic in The Lounge
You are NOT Allowed to Disconnect the bayonet fitting unless you are a Gas Safe Engineer. A Gas Safe Enginner will first do a Test to ensure there is no leak by comnnecting a Manometer and testing for any drop in level indicating a gas leak. This will be Repeated after any appliance has been disconnected. (in case the valve in the baynet connector Is leaking) If a new appliance is to be fitted then a Third test will be done. Fox. -
Pubs do not need Extended hours to stay open.. Pubs used to close at 15.00 and reopen at 17.30. They closed at 23.00 22.30 outside London. And they survived.. More Pubs have closed since licening laws were relaxed. and all day drinking was introduced. Pubs used to be for Locals... run by The Landlord and the Missus.. They looked after their customers. Provided free food on Sundays and some evenings. Darts Matches / Crib nights. and the like. Pubs now are run for huge proifit and greed. Many with poor quality overpriced food. Additional staffing costs and having to pay out for Security will inevitabaly lead to price increases. Will have to wait and see.. Fox.

Barry Rd. and North Cross Rd. do not meet. Did you mean Upland Rd. and Barry Rd. Bit Defamitory to suggest these girls are Soliciting. Smoking the occasional cigarette ..??? Offering sex to any single man that happens to walk past them ?? How long did you observe them for ??? I would think any 'ladies of the night' would be on Lordship Lane Not in such a quiet location as you suggest. I think your imagination may of got the better of you. Fox

Little things that help when you are fed up of rain
DulwichFox replied to womanofdulwich's topic in The Lounge
Well I was referring to Arable Farming not Dairy Farming... Farming techniches have changed.. Removal of hedgerows means more Pesticides need to be used as the Spiders that lived in the hedgerows and ate all the insects have gone. Any spiders that are there cannot reach the middle of these huge fields. The machinery that is used to harvest these fields is indeed very expensive BUT does the job of dozens of farm hands in a fraction of the time. Not that Farm hands were ever paid a decent wage for the work they have done. Farmers have never had so much time on their hands... And unlike many jobs, it's there choice.. so stop whinging, get on with it or get out of it. Fox..
