I noticed last night they did seem to be a bit sparse. Even so..... When one did go past towards Peckham at about 22.00 there were just 4 people on it. Buses going towards Brixton/Clapham at that time were empty. Hardly worth putting on extra buses. Seems to me people here expect a bus just for them, just when they need it.
  4. 37 Route used to go all the way to Richmond. Was a great bus ride when I was a kid. First with my parents then with my Red Rover when I was a bit older. You have to change buses now at Clapham Junction. :( I must admit that as I sit in the Bishop Pub, Looking out the window (As I do) the 37 bus seems very frequent in both directions. This is after 21.00. Perhaps they are more frequent at night than they are during the day.
  5. I remember the 37 Bus 1963-1968 the years I went to William Penn Schhool. Used to get on in Peckham. When the bus got to the corner of Red Post Hill / Half Moon Lane we used to Leap of the Platform and go flying onto the pavement. The drivers used to take the turn wide and as fast as they could to try and stop us jumping off. Just made it more fun. :))
  6. Came to me Yesterday.. Told him I was unemployed myself, which I am, and he said 'Sorry Mate' and left. He was very polite. All their pagages look identical so are probably made on mass by some Fagin Character. I have bought some dusters in the past and they were rubbish low quality tat. Fox

You cannot just cut down a Tree. Some time back 3 trees at the rear of my flat were thought to be responsible for subsidence of neighbouring properties. and needed to be removed. Altough they were not actually on my Land /Property I was deemed partly responsible for the cost of their removal. Two of the trees were on the other side of the damaged properties which were detached from me. Deeming responsibility is a complecated process. In your case this would seem straight forward. Proving the trees were responsible for the damage invoved Solicitors, Building Societies, Insurance companies all of the persons involved. Several Tree surveys were conducted to access Tree Root Coverage, as revoving a tree will cause the roots to decay and cause damage to nearby properties as the ground dries out. Tree roots of a large tree can be mant metres long. The whole process took many months and cost me several hundred pounds. Just my part of the payment. Best to have a survey done to assess the pros and cons of removing it. If porperties are not affected by the tree staying, it is unlikely you will get permission to remove it. Good Luck.
  8. Signs of stolen goods.. Mmmmhhmm.. iPhone4 Unlocked. No Manual. ?50.00 Might raise an eyebrow. ;-)
  9. The Council could spend there money on better things. Like fixing some of the Many Broken Paving-stones, which are a real Trip Hazard.
  10. There is very little that can go wrong with a lamp. Does the lamp plug direct into the mains. ? Or ...Is it a low voltage bulb IE does the lamp have a power supply.? Does the lamp have a switch in the base of the bulb holder.? Does it have an inline switch in the cord.? If the lamp has a wiring fault then the fuse may blow everytime you replace it and plug in the lamp. Fox
  11. Last and Final Stage:- ---BANNED---:))
  12. It's going to be great when they fit micro-chips to bins and weigh them. At the momment they Tip every third or fourth bin. filling them up with other peoples rubbish. So one bin will get charged and the others won't get charged. Can see people putting their rubbish in other peoples bins to avoid payment. There will be ---Bin Wars--- :'(
  13. Reminded me for some reason: Joke: Man goes into a Builders Yard and asks for 30,000 bricks. "That's a lot of bricks" says the manager. "I'm building a Bar-B-Que" says the man. "You don't need 30,000 bricks to build a Bar-B-Que." replied the manager. "I do" said the man. "I live on the Sevevtenth Floor."

  16. Actual numbers of newspapers sold Daily / Anually UK / globally are difficult to calculate as figure are changing and are huge. By 2007, there were 6580 daily newspapers in the world selling 395 million copies a day. By 2009 there were 12477 News papers world wide.. Almost every Newspaper will be read once then discarded. Some will be recycled. Some will be burnt. Some will end up buried in tips. Newspapers take up about 14 percent of landfill space This process cannot be allowed to continue. Recycling Newspaper is hazardous due to printing ink being Toxic. (Hence Chip shops cannot use them) Info Various sources. Trees And just how many trees does it take to make a newspaper? Well, it takes 75,000 trees to print one day?s circulation of the Sunday edition of the New York Times. Multiply that by the 52 Sundays in a year and that comes out to 3,900,000 trees. Think about that for a minute. It takes 3,900,000 trees to print a years worth of Sunday editions of the New York Times. source Here That is just 1 news paper.. Just think about it before buying a newspaper.
  17. Someone has left an Untaxed car outside my house which has now been clamped. Parking is bad enough without Imobilized vehicles taking up parking spaces. The DVLA now have these Vans which have a camera on each of the corners of it's roof. I have seen them on a few occassions in my road, so I assume they are driving around the area and must be catching lots of other Untaxed Vehicles. I have just recieved my Car Tax Renewal for ?215.00 which I will pay at the end of the Month. The car was not there yesterday and not regularly parked there. Well I don't recognise it. If the car ha been stolen I feel it might be there for weeks... Surely the DVLA know the address of the registered owner and should pay them a visit. Perhaps they will.
  18. Renata Hamvas Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I believe this was funded by cleaner greener > safer. How does Painting these bollards make them Cleaner Greener or Safer. ??? Bollards should be clearly visible. Camoflauging them in certain instances could make them less visible and thus a hazard. As well as turning the area into a Ghetto by incouraging othes to paint everything that dont move..
  19. Did not realise the Council were responsible for this eyesore. Assumed they had been vandalised by some kids with some spray cans.. Not seen the sub station..
