Many House Fires are caused by Faulty Wiring. The main cause is 'Loose Wiring' arcing and causing sparks. In ceiling rose wiring the 'Live Return' from the light switch is probably a Black Wire. Which can cause some confusion. Get a Qualified Electrician to check it out. cheaper than if your house burns down. DulwichFox

I regularly (Daily) walk 5,000 to 8,000 steps. Measured. 8,000 steps Is nearly 5K. I went to Brighton last week and walked 19,000 steps. Despite being able to walk these steps in 25 deg temp. I cannot actually run more than 50 metres. My legs just give up. It's not a breathing problem. For someone that used to dance and leap about after 5-6 pints of ale it is all very frustraing. It is something that has got progressivly worse as I get older. My doctor assures me that it's normal then I see 80 year olds running the Marathon. Foxy

I used to take my used cooking OIL to Devon Street in 5 ltr Plastic bottles with Secure screw caps. I have now scrapped my car and can no longer take the used oil to the dump. I now have 3-4 such plastic bottles in my back yard. Can these bottles be collected with the usual collection facilities. ?? DulwichFox

My front garden is 4" long. enough to fit 2 bins side by side just inside the gate. Not too much effort required. My regular Brown Bin man is a lovely helpful fellow. Dulwichfox.

Some Bin men seem to be leaving bins outside on the pavement and not returning to front gardens.

I think it was suggested elsewhere. I was speaking with the Owner of Dulwich Tandoori who confirmed this. It will be a small chain supposedly selling healthy Juices and the like and not Pills and Vitamins as Holland and Barrett do. But. Let's wait and see. Foxy

Any amount sent to the E.U. is too much. If you do not believe The UK should manage its own finances then perhaps you would like someone to manage your finances. I would be happy to do this for you. Just transfer all your monies into an account that I will set up and then advice you on what you may spend part of that money on. Makes sense ?? That's what the E.U. does. Fox -

Britain?s contribution to the EU has shot up by ?2.6 billion in the past 12 months, new Treasury figures show, as the UK?s growing economy was used to prop up Brussels? budget. An ?eye-popping? ?15.5 billion was sent across the Channel in the year ending March 31, compared with ?12.9 billion the year before - an increase of 20 per cent. The extra money would be enough to put 50,000 more police officers on the streets or fund 81,000 social care beds. Brexiteers said the increase was yet more evidence that Britain must leave the EU as soon as possible to stop taxpayers? money ?pouring into bottomless EU coffers?. DulwichFox -

June 3rd will be the last day of The Palmerston
DulwichFox replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Heart of the Palmerstone was taken out 15 years ago when Reg (Buckley)? the then owner evicted Keith (long term Manager) and his two boys making Keith Homeless and Jobless. I believe Reg may of enjoyed a period of joint ownership of the over priced restaurant called The Palmerston but seemed to of disappeared off the Radar. I did reluctantly go for a drink there 15 years ago but was told I could not take a seat unless I was eating. I never went back to eat or drink. I am disappointed that the new venture has not fulfilled it's promise to me by the new owner that the Palmerston whould primarily be a 'Pub' that served some food and Not a Licenced Restaurant. I have not stepped foot in the place. DulwichFox -

Maybe some of those > fines should be introduced - urinating in the street maybe more than a fine I doubt that there is not one Policeman that has never been in the same situation with the need to go for a Pee where anyone else would be arrested. Fly tipping of garden waste has commenced
DulwichFox replied to nicola333t's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This is predictable and a deliberate Ploy on behalf of Southwark Council. They will now set up Teams of Fly Tipping Officers who will be out and about to catch garden waste Fly Tippers and Hand out Hefty Fines to make Southwark Council a Fortune. Close down Public Toilets and Fine people when they Pee in the street. Get rid of Street Waste bins and Fine people when they throw litter on the Pavement. Paint Yellow Lines everywhere and Fine people when they park and pop into a shop for 2 mins. DulwichFox -
Mmmh I do know a Builder mate of mine that uses the Castle on occasion but in the past it seemed to be frequented with loud drunk teenagers getting pissed and playing Pool and fighting.

Last time I used The Castle, I went to the Loo and in the back passage to the Loo my foot went through a hole in the rotten floor covered with a piece of rotten carpet. Not been back since. #Dump

So are Weatherspoon's exempt from High rents and rates. ?? If not, what is the justification for all other outlets charging so much for Beer, Spirits and Food. ? Answer. Greed. DulwichFox.

E-cig vapours do not bother me at all...the 'smoke' is the same stuff that is used for 'smoke' on stage No it's not. A higher level nicotine e-cig will give the user about 100% the typical nicotine dosage of a tobacco cigarette. Finally, for the extra high level, this would have approximately 120% of a tobacco cigarette?s nicotine level. Stage Smoke does not contain Nicotine DulwichFox

I have been a Member of Campaign for Real Ale CAMRA for many years. 25+ ?? Every Year I get 40 Vouchers for (currently) 50p off of a pint of Real Ale or Real Cider in any participating Weatherspoons Pub. I have never used these as I Never use any Spoons Pub. Just not a fan. Foxy
