We have seen the collapse of many Empires including the British Empire when we once ruled most of the World. The E.U. is just the latest Empire which itself will soon break up and expire. It is amazing that the UK sends Money to the E.U. in Brussells Why are they not sending money to us. London. Why are we NOT in charge. ?? Most scams start with a 30day free trial. You know the ones where the small print does not allow you to leave without paying to do so. They just keep taking money out of your account. You have very little control over it. So lets not worry too much about a No Deal Brexit. Leave and get on with it.

Lame window cleaning scam - Goose Green area
DulwichFox replied to se22cat's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You could report to The Police Non Emergency line 101. The precise legal definition of criminal fraud may vary somewhat by jurisdiction. As a rule, however, criminal fraud involves a deceptive act perpetrated on a victim which was done for personal or financial gain. So this Could be criminal Fraud. There Was a Deceptive Act involving personal financial gain. DulwichFox -
The Road works at the junction of Whateley Road C.P. Road. seem to be going on and on This is causing a lot of disruption to traffic and pedestrians. Also having 2 Bus stops closed. P13. I spoke to one of the workmen there at midday. He told be it will be closed for another 1 - 2 weeks. and then they will be closing the other side if Crystal Palace road to work on the pavements there. So more disruption. Why do Conways take so long with any works they are awarded. I remember them doing Pavements on Lordship Lane. I am convinced if they were issued with a fine ?5,000 - ?10,000 per day over schedule, this work would be completed in less than half the time they are taking. DulwichFox

I'm concerned something may of happened to its owner. I'm sure it was a cat that used to visit me some years back. It looks familliar but older. DulwichFox. -

A few weeks back. Dulwich Library said they had no garden waste bags and would not be getting any more. They said there was some at Kingswood Library until they run out. I was told they would be available to buy from Southwark Council but would not be collected unless you had paid the ?25.00 and had a Brown bin sticker. You would be able to take the bags to Devon Street. DulwichFox -
There is one rule for Southwark Council and another rule for everyone else.

The Garden Caddies have a latch which needs to be released by pressing down a little lever. Takes two hands to operate as they are quite stiff. DulwichFox -
Unlablled Brown Bins removal.

Our Brown Bin collector is a lovely fellow. Very helpful. He pushes a Large Brown Bin up the road and puts the food waste from the Garden Caddies in that till it is full and then it goes in the dust cart. If there is Garden Waste in the large Brown Bin he may put the food waste in with the Garden Waste till the cart comes up the road and then it gets put in the cart. It all ends up in the same cart. If you have Garden Waste I can not see a problem putting the Food Waste (in the appropriate disposable green bags) in with the garden waste. Putting the small green food waste bags in the Large Brown Bin means the collectors have to bend over to retrieve them from the bottom of the bin. This must be Back Breaking having to do 100's of bins. Probably why the Caddies were introduced. DulwichFox -

It is quite likely that if food waste is put the Green Bin it will NOT be collected. You might even get a fine. -
They are taking away the Unlabelled Brown Bins this morning. Currently on Ulverscroft. DulwichFox

Large rat in back garden, 4:45pm today
DulwichFox replied to FussyGalore's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's not unusual. There are thousands of rats roaming around East Dulwich. They are everywhere. I'm between Whateley and North cross. I saw a few rats a few weeks ago and even found a dead rat in my small back garden. I have seen them in the evening in North Cross Road after the Market on Sat. I have even seen them crossing Lordship lane during the day when sitting outside the EDT. Do not be too alarmed A couple of years ago I found one in my sitting room next to the armchair I was sitting in. and then it got into my Kitchen cabinet under my sink. I did call someone in but it seemed to of escaped into my back yard when I left the Patio doors open, The Foxes help keep the Rat population down. DulwichFox -
There is a Black and White Cat (Green Collar)that seems to of taken up residency in my back garden. I'm on Ulverscroft Road and my garden backs on to Crystal Palace Road. It sits mainly on my shed all of the day. Even when it is raining. It never seems to go anywhere to eat ?? It is very thin. It does not Purr of Meow. It stares vacantly into space and does not respond to noise. Not even the recent Thunder. It does occasionally approach me and allows me to stroke its head and under its chin. When it was very hot it found a place in the shade but lay there for hours. All day. I do not know if it is ill. It has wondered into my house, had a nose around and left. Anyone missing such a cat. ??? DulwichFox

I left my place of work 11 years ago. Back then and beyond we used to put up a Xmas Tree and Christmas lights(until they were banned) for safety reasons. We used to put the Lights a decorations in Tesco Plastic Bags. When I went to retrieve the Lights and Decorations the Bags kept behind a desk had completely disintegrated They fell apart when I picked them up. They do not take 10,000 years to degrade. I believe B.T. probably DO recycle these items. I recently bought a new (Extra) Freezer from Currys PC World They also take away any small electrical items for recycling (For Free) Foxy
