  3. Just be careful :) Council threatens man with fine over lost cat posters A council has been criticised for threatening to hand a ?1,000 fine to a pet owner who put up posters of his lost cat. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8237215/Council-threatens-man-with-fine-over-lost-cat-posters.html Foxy
  4. I think along with Cash, Cards will be used less. At times I use 'Apple Pay' Which is no longer restricted to ?30 It's very easy to use. Although it is not available everywhere. DulwichFox
  5. Completely forgot to do predictions Probably did not make much difference Foxy
  6. I have agreed with Admin not to further comment on aspects of safety in the area here on EDF. I.E. Not to over emphasise the situation. There are MANY places which can be thought of as requiring caution. I use my discretion as to where and when I go to those places. This thread is about the Cafe on Peckham Rye going Cashless. lets stick to the subject. DulwichFox

And why might that be cella ??? You seem to have an obsession with Peckham where I was born, went to school and lived in for 28 years I'm still out and about walking/shopping in Peckham several times a week. I use lots of shops on Rye Lane. I often use Manzes Pie and Mash .. I believe they do not take cards. Fox
  10. The only time I would use the cafe on Peckham Rye is if I'm out exercising / going for a walk and fancied a Tea and a cake. I do not carry credit cards whilst out walking as my tracksuit bottoms do not have deep secure pockets. I seldom carry credit cards at all and NEVER at night. I get cash from the bank during the day and take enough cash with me when I go out at night to cover my needs.. Beer and Curry. Also cashless must limit Children from using the facilities. DulwichFox
  11. I have recently changed to Loose Tea and buy my tea from Fortnum and Mason They have dozens of varieties of Luxury Teas that can be bought in attractive Caddies mostly priced at ?12.50 for 250gms. Some are ?12.50 for 125gms Assam Orange Pekoe Tea is one of my very few Luxuries that I do not mind spending a little more for. In this classic Royal Blend notes of Flowery Pekoe from Ceylon uplift the maltier Assam to create a very traditional cup of tea. First blended for King Edward in 1902, Fortnum?s Royal Blend has been popular ever since for its smooth, honey-like flavour. Foxy P.S. I suppose for ?12.50 I could of bought a Burger from most places on Lordship Lane.

You can generally feel the ones that are Fully Plastic. they are shiny and do not tear when pulled apart. Paper ones tear easily. Having said that I understand that some Tea-Bags 'May' contain some Micro-Plastics. Below is a list of Plastic / Non Plastic Brands although the site does suggest that the situation could change. https://www.countryliving.com/uk/create/food-and-drink/news/a3291/plastic-tea-bags-environment/ DulwichFox

  14. I really do struggle at times as to what is going on in some threads.. At Swim Two Birds springs to mind. At Swim-Two-Birds is a 1939 novel by Irish writer Brian O'Nolan, writing under the pseudonym Flann O'Brien. It is widely considered to be O'Brien's masterpiece, and one of the most sophisticated examples of metafiction. O'Brien is one of my favourite Authors but I failed to get past the first chapter of this Novel. DulwichFox

  17. Haven't seen it myself but sounds like it could pose a real Danger to Wildlife (Birds) who may try and eat/digest it. Sounds like it needs to be tackled professionally ?? Council ?? DulwichFox

Nothing to do with it being Peckham. Any opportunity to draw cash from Machine inside the bank is always going to be safer. Cannot see such machines having devices fitted to them. Fox
  22. Download the Barclays App You can check all your Barclay Accounts and Barclay Card and add other accounts. You can transfer money between accounts. Pay your Barclay Card But best of all .. You can put a Temp block on your Debit card. Handy if you have mislaid it and think its lost. Its also Very easy to use.. Foxy
  23. Hi Mummali I thought as much. I did think the new slots were tamper-proof. I never use the machines on the street anymore. I'm out and about on L.L. everyday and use the machines inside the bank. Hope you were able to cancel your card before it was used by the scammers. It can be a real hassle sorting these thing out. Foxy.
  24. The Barclays Cash point seems to be targeted frequently. Not sure which machine it is. I spoke to a rep at Barclays Lordship Lane yesterday. Evidently Barclays Bank on Rye Lane is open on Saturdays as a safer option if you are out and about in Peckham. DulwichFox
  25. It was in the past a Drive to destination with its huge car-park. Which used to be choker. Drink driving laws and people's awareness of the dangers of drink driving makes the place as a pub unviable. Cannot see it re-opening as a pub. Although Not another pub nearby. Perhaps that's why.
