No I am not a Vegan. I was totally veggie for 2-3 years back in the 70's. I am fully aware of cruelty in factory farming.. I written about it here more time than Sue seems to remember. It is not possible to source out where every meal I eat out comes from. We would all starve if we all did that. I can only assume that Sue NEVER eats out in local Indian restaurants. BUT No. She eats at Ganapati. I did not realise that Ganapati sourced all its Chicken and Lamb from Ethical suppliers. Perhaps Sue could enlighten us all on the matter.. Fox
  4. Innumerable species of birds independently evolved to eat capsaicin Thu birds are not affected by Chilli. Mammals are. Its why the Police use Pepper spray to disable violent people. DulwichFox

  6. Red Chilli powder would also endanger other wildlife and pets. Could seriously damage a cats eyesight for example. A ridiculous suggestion.. I'm lost for words as to the level of cruelty some people will stoop to. DulwichFox
  7. Reminder.. Its that time of year again.. Clocks go back this weekend Sunday 29th at 02.00am Extra hours sleep. What will you do with your extra hour. ? Don't get to the Pub too early. Foxy

When the congestion charge is expected to rise.. The T charge is expected to rise Sidiq Khan wants to expand the Congestion Zone to cover everything within the North / South circular. On top of that there is talk about charging per mile for motorways. We already effectively pay per mile when we buy petrol. Thousands of people die from tobacco related diseases each year but despite having banned it from public places refuses to ban it totally. Why. because it raise ?millions in Tax. Recreational Drugs are totally banned. Why.. Because there No Revenue.. (Tax) And where drugs are concerned money is raised by imposing Fines. OK if its not a Scam.. Its a Sham Foxy

I thought that KK. I have a Rad that has been removed upstairs that I wanted replaced. Both valves are there. Closed. But three independent plumbers including a mate has said cannot be done without draining the upstairs rads. I've lived with it for 21 years so not urgent lol Fox
  10. Sue, this is your thread and is about the Urban Fox. SpringTime tried to make it about the Rural Fox. People (Farmers) in the country see the Fox as a pest.. I see Moths as a pest in my home. Does not mean I know anything about them. Foxes do kill more animals than they need. Perhaps they intend to go back the next night to retrieve the rest. Bit like us when we go shopping. We always buy more than we need. Buy one get one free. Foxy
  11. If you need to remove the Rad, being downstairs the entire system will need to be drained then refilled. Which means the boiler will also need to be vented and all the rads bled and the system may need rebalancing if rad stats are fitted. Would be a whole days work. If the system is dirty it could involve flushing the system. an other days work (4-5) Hours and that is very expensive. Don't remove the rad. Foxy.

Just > because someone doesn't find foxes beautiful when > you do doesn't make them ignorant. There are different meanings to the word Ignorant 1. discourteous or rude 2. lacking knowledge or awareness . I was not suggesting they were discourteous or rude.. impolite ? ill-mannered I was suggesting they seem to lack knowledge of the Fox as a wild creature's needs. Like the need to feed itself like all wild creatures. DulwichFox

There's not much you can do though - > killing your local foxes just frees up space for > others to move in. Howl away Foxy! I am always amazed how ignorant Country Folk are about Wild Animals. Fox Hunting.. The Shooting of Foxes and the general persecution of Foxes has forced them to move into the cities. They still have to overcome the dangers of Cars and other traffic but are safer here than in their natural environment of the countryside. Foxes are beautiful creatures and it is a privilege for all of us, especially children to be able to see them on our streets. Education not Ignorance.. DulwichFox
  14. Just remember that if you turn a chest freezer on its end, when you have got it in place and flat you need to leave it several hours (24 would be ideal) before you switch it ON. This is to allow the freon to redistribute through the compressor coils. If not you will permanently damage it and it will no longer work. Foxy.
  15. It probably is Foxes but not mating. Here is a short vid of Fox calls.. One of them fits your discription Enjoy DulwichFox

Is it > foxes? They sound horrible. Not mating season for Foxes .. Which is noisy. Fox mating season Foxes breed just once a year. The mating season begins in January when the screeching mating cries can be heard during the night and the early hours. A litter of four to five cubs is born about late March, and the cubs remain exclusively inside the den for about six to eight weeks. DulwichFox

  22. If Sadiq Khan was serious about pollution he would BAN polluting vehicles from central London. How can you have a system where it is OK to pollute the air as long as you PAY. It is the Biggest Money Making SCAM ever. Khan could not give a Damn about peoples health. He wants to raise money to cover for failing council policies. DulwichFox
  23. Cannot see any new person taking this place on as a book shop giving the same level of interest and commitment as John Kennedy has done over the years. DulwichFox
  24. Some people seam to amass on the pavement at the narrowest point. Restricted my Trees... Railings... Bins.. Cycle parking areas.. They have no Spatial Awareness and even a polite excuse me does not seem to work. Excuse me please... Excuse me please... EXCUSE ME PLEASE.. is usually met with TUTT's of annoyance and disapproval. You should not have to asked to be excused.. People should just get out of the Frigging way. Fox.
  25. I have been drinking Tap Water from the Peckham and East Dulwich areas for 65 years. My recent yearly diabetic check indicates that I have full kidney function. Very little risk unless you have an existing Kidney problem. DulwichFox
