I do not need to read what I post.. I am very careful what I write. There USED to be Police Notices on all lamp posts Warning people that Thieves were operating in the Area. But the Loony Left had them removed saying they were offensive.. If The Gowlett wasn't struggling.. Why DID it close ??? DulwichFox.. P.S. Sue.. If you have anything to say to me.. You can always say it on any of the several occasions recently when you have turned your head away as we have passed in the street. You seem to be very quick to get your word in on here. Are you just embarrassed. ???
  2. Breast Feeding in public is Fine..... ... except when its used as a deliberate Exhibition of Progressiveness. I have seen Women sitting at the Bar in a Pub Breast feeding when there are more suitable facilities. I don't mean the Toilets.. I'm talking about seating within the Bar area. Your Child has the Right to Privacy and Dignity too. DulwichFox

I have never drunk in the Gowlett. I went one evening some time back. 8.00pm ish There was Loud Music and one person in who appeared to be asleep on the bar. Head in arms. Not really my scene. The EDT is a very successful pub. The only place left that still looks like a pub. Its on the main drag. The Gowlett was a run down backstreet pub struggling to compete. I never venture down that way late at night on my own , especially when its dark. I'm sorry that it has closed, there were some locals that seem to love the place. Horses for courses. Its always sad to see old boozers close down, but if they cannot support themselves what can be done. ?? Foxy
  5. Other Pubs are available. No one will die. Fox
  6. Sheila If you have already decided what you want, and you would need to if you were to order at the same then you can get rid of your menu. Just have to remember what it was you wanted. :) Foxy.
  7. Come on Mick.. It was a great night and you were grumpy all night.. and STILL grumpy. I'm sorry you did not enjoy the experience. I think most people enjoyed the food and the experience and I don't think any one was too concerned about ordering the courses separately. No one expressed that last night , and found your little gripe a little amusing **Initially** Lighten up man.. Chill Foxy

  9. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can we order our starters and main at the same > time next time, like normal people do. NO... Bad Idea.. where restaurants do that.. The mains sit outside until all the starters are delivered Eaten .. cleared away the table re-laid. As a result COLD food. Fox ETA and it's nice to have a 10 min break between Courses especially when you are in company and chatting ot need a toilet / smoke break
  10. NOT a good site for flats.. On a corner with No / Limited parking. Not a big site also. Although having said that, it happened to The Oglander, corner of Adys / Oglander road. The Oglander was a bigger site.. Who knows.. DulwichFox
  11. Did finally make it to Curry Club bash at Memsaab. Was a wonderful evening with 8 people attending. Memsaab did us all proud. Starting with the usual Poppadum's and chutneys. we all opted for various Starter. I went with the Sheesh Kebab which was lovely. Beers and wine were flowing...... I think we all ordered different Mains, I opted for King Prawn Madras. Again this was delightful and is one of my Memsaab favourites. There were many Mmmmhhs of delight. The food at Memsaab IS truly delightful. We were all on our best behaviour.. Was a little low key for a Christmas bash although Memsaab had a festive atmosphere. Perhaps that was due to the absence of our illustrious leader Mr P. in one of his Reindeer Jumpers (Get well soon Mate) A complimentary Tipple at the end of the evening helped to enhance the Christmas Spirit. Once again, a Very Big Thank you to all the staff at Memsaab. Memsaab has proved itself to be a Great addition to the area. A Merry Christmas to Everone.. Foxy

  17. Six Swans found beheaded in South London Two mute swans were found beheaded in Birchmere Park in November and another swan was also killed in Southmere Lake. What sort of person does this.. First Cats being killed and now Swans. There are some very sick people out there. http://www.itv.com/news/london/2017-12-13/bodies-of-six-swans-stabbed-and-beheaded-found-in-south-london-parks/ We need to find these people. 19. Its called progress.. Someone got paid a lot of money to sit in a cosy office looking at their computer screens designing this. No need for a site visit. I mean, no one having been to site could of come up with this. Could they. ?? I retired in 2008 so I do not need to travel into town any more. I did not realise things had got this bad. Those pictures are horrendous.. It's a disgrace. DulwichFox
  20. The problem with cigarette butts is that despite popular belief, they are NOT biodegradable. The problem is with the filters. They are made of Synthetic Polymer Cellulose Acetate .. These break down into tiny particles and pollute the water table, get into the oceans and get digested by marine Creatures. DulwichFox
